So I tested this today it does work as long as the bags are of the same type. I'm as shocked as anyone that they didnt completely fix this. Drag the items onto the icon and make sure multiple items are selected.
how so? in what act u r using this trick? i tested it in act 2 and dint work at all

I don't think they have to be the same type. I only had a pouch and couldn't find another pouch/bag, so I tried it with a wooden barrel in my inventory and it still worked that way. Just make sure to drag the items into the accepting container's icon, and it'll work.

@jackieclan815 believe they have the mod menu added into the game it will allow unlimited items to spawn in. Could just sell for gold I'm assuming.

I've been using this trick for a few months now, but having just played yesterday the 2 bags did not appear to have to be the same. What I have been doing is gifting the vendor a sack within a backpack, then opening up both, putting the vendor's items into the sack, then dragging the items to my inventory and dropping on the icon of the backpack. Perhaps because the sack is inside a backpack then technically it's the same "bag type" but whatever it works just fine. Thanks for this helpful tip for everyone who doesn't know as of yet!
Patched in patch 7 so it wont work anymore
I tried this today, seems to not be working anymore.
Tried it just now on PC on latest patch. It wasn't working for me at first, but after a few attempts I got it to work.
I don't know what specifically was causing it to fail before, so I repeated it exactly as shown in the video. Don't sell the bag to the vendor normally, trade via barter. When shift dragging the items from one bag to the other, don't drop them "in" the bag, drop them on the icon of the bag. That worked for me.

It doesn’t work on PCs after patch 7 anymore. Maybe it still works on other platforms that haven’t been updated?

Yep, does work, gave me a dialogue for stealing, but I think there was a guard nearby that triggered it.
Interesting, try dragging the items into the icons of the containers if you aren't already. Could fix it.
I guess I will need to dust off greater invisibility scrolls and steal the old fashioned way. 🤣🤣🤣
As tempting as this I'll have to pass. The joy of getting each item is the hard work that went in to it. If I can just take anything I want it more or less spoils the fun.
Agreed, playthroughs are so much more fun without exploiting.
Do you have to have both bags open at the same time for this to work? I play on ps5, and was thinking of starting another campaign soon. This might be the push I need to break free of the 2 month long elden ring binge I've been on lol.
It's time for a Durge run Elden lord, but yeah you need both bags open.

Still working 9/1/24. Drag toward backpack icon, NOT the slots.
i cant do it, maybe they fixed it in the past 20 minuets but i dont think so, i dont think im doing anything wrong, i used 2 backpacks shift clicked into the bag and into my bag. if i put them into the bag icon they just dont move from his bag and if i put them into my bag they cost money
Dont move it into the bag itself but drag them into the icon above the bag

Do as you want everyone its your game. Go run mods and/or play your way. Just remember that doing this breaks fundamental balance in the game. So if you wish to have an intended baseline experience avoid exploita
Exactly! I don't love using bugs and glitches in runs, but it can be useful if you're just messing around on a run or testing something.

I mean i get why people do this, but why not just use a trainer for infinite gold if you're going to just use a glitch to do essentially that?
Oh, what do you mean use a trainer? I've never heard of using a trainer to exploit gold.
@@Baldguide trainers are a type of cheating software, hacks more or less. there are likely plenty of them out there for bg3 that have options like "set gold to 9999999"
this still works as of 8/13/24 at least for PC
I had 150k gold on tactitian at the end of act 3 without any bug using, u cant even do something with it, so who needs unlimited gold then?
Gold has weight, maybe you could put the gold in a bag and throw it at people as a weapon for bludgeoning damage?

Does not work, at least in honour mode, when u move the items to your inventory it does cost u money
Try moving it specifically to the icon of the containers and not the inventory, I ran into that issue at times. Could also be a exclusive bug fix for honor mode? I'd be surprised if that was the case though, should work on all game modes.
@@BaldguideStill works as long as you drop the items onto the backpack icon not the inventory slots. Also you can transfer the gold to along with items. I done that and no cut scenes about stealing.

Agreed! I don't love using game glitches in my runs generally, but they're all pretty interesting.
@@kzxkzxkzx if you feel that bad about it, you can always just pickpocket. Same results with a few extra steps, and certainly intended by Larian!
@@someguy233 I'm currently doing this excessively in my recent honour mode run and it also feels just like cheating. Unlimited camp supplies, potions, arrows, scrolls, money... At least in act 1, I'm curious if it will be just as easy later on. If you do it right, even failure has no real consequences because you can often talk your way out or just run away.
@@kzxkzxkzxall of the enemies in honor mode are cheating too, so I have no problem leveling the playing field

Idk if it's a glitch but the 5,000 gold statue from act 3 duplicates items I believe.
@@Baldguide not anymore they patched it, statue has a buff that’s immune to dropping weapons.

@@Hexterra I used Backpacks, shift clicked the items I wanted then drag them onto the bag icon at the top not into the space themselves.
