Fun fact: the Healing things on the Nautiloid restore your Spell Slots as well as your health.
They act just like a long rest
@@yeethummus7742 that's what I assume, but I'm not sure if there is something that isn't restored by them, so I decided to play it safe.
technically, abilities that cannot be restored until long rest dont restore on those (ie a warlock's faery fire if they get it from being pacted to a fae)
@@swk3000
I remember thinking I was screwed at the end of Act II as I didn't want to long rest and that was when I realized it healed my health and spell slots. I think the only difference between it and long resting is that it doesn't trigger any events nor restock vendors although I am guessing on the second one.

@sunbleachedangel i would jusy shit my pants if I heard that after being jumped on by a drow twink with genocide in his eyes
If you explore the castle and find letters, and talk to him trying to spare him, the second time you fight him you can break his spirit and he'll follow his family tradition and kill him self, skipping his fight and going straight to merkol
Interesting 🤔
it doesn't only have to be the letter from his wife, it can also be the persuasion check where you offer to show him mercy or a path to redemption or something like that, then you pass another check down in the colony and it skips the 1st phase of that fight going straight to the avatar
the production value of this video was absolutely 🔥
Thanks! I had fun with it!
Man, I started watching your videos because of the great cyberpunk content, and then started playing Baldurs gate too, and here you are ! Truly a good coincidence, there's an insane amount of ways to do things in this game, so it's perfect for countless ideas.
BG3 is incredible! Definitely want to do more!
For future solo challenges, on the Nautiloid you can have Lae'zel just jump into the abyss in the first imp fight (it'll kill her instantly, meaning she doesn't even so much as eat hits for you)
When you threw the eye off the ledge, only for it to land on a lower platform, I laughed so hard!
worst part is, with spellmight gloves from Lucretious you can add another 1d8 damage to each magic missile, cause apparently even though MM cannot miss, it still counts as a spell that does an attack roll...
I believe they fixed them, that’s why I didn’t get them.
In the actual tabletop D&D, you can actually make Magic Missile absurdly insane. And before finishing the video I do know you can make it very good in BG3 as well. Now, as a solo challenge and tactician I have no clue how well they will carry. I can't wait to actually finish the video!
It was a journey!
Can you explain how do you make MM insane in tabletop dnd? I can understand it in bg3 because most of its damage comes from items, but on tabletop you can't really control that point as here, it mostly depends on where your DM takes you.
@@diegocaru There are plenty of ways when following rules as written. Obviously a lot is on DM's hands as to what they allow etc. There are plenty of Just by stacking extra turns (like action surge) and broken damage bonuses from Hexblade Warlocks and throwing on Simulacrum from high level wizard you can have MM hit for 500+ damage a round at level 20. (2 levels of fighter, 1 level of Warlock and rest in Evocation Wizard) I think there is a reddit post and D&D beyond template doing this exact thing and I am sure it is not even the most damage you can get out of the spell.
@@KimParkkineneverything is broken when you get Simulacrum to do it! That’s not fair lol
But yes MM can be quite good, it just depends on if your DM rules that the evocation wizard’s damage bonus applies to *every* roll or just one - depending on if you roll the dice multiple times to determine MM’s damage. (RAW it’s a bit ambiguous iirc)
Idk about 500 but if you’re getting 3-4 actions worth of 11d4+11+66(hexblade’s curse)+66(evo wizard) using your boons of high magic or similar then I can see it adding up
But simulacrum is basically cheating anyway that spell is just not fair lol
Excellent video, I love watching all those colorful numbers pop up. It was super fun to watch these streams, and it was cool that a couple of my chats made it into the video. My first character in BG3 was a magic missile sorcerer, and I used the build on Gale for my next three playthroughs, so I'd been thinking about doing it solo right around when you started streaming the run. I was one of the chatters advocating for Phalar Aluve and told you about lockpicking the door for Balthazar. Feels like I may have influenced Magic Missile Mike a little bit.
Loved this! I hope you continue doing more runs like this for BG3. I've seen too many "challenge" videos of people using OP builds to solo content, but nothing as creative like this.

If you want brutality, then solo with only selune items and equipment. Literally, there are only two weapons besides unarmored attacks you get: one is the glaive for rescuing aylin, and the other is that quarter staff in the underdark just outside the selunite outpost.
If you want the moon devotion robe without killing isobel, then you have to knock everyone out in last light after you free aylin, then knock isobel out last and cast sanctuary on her unconscious body so the shadows don't kill her.
It kinda sucks, its pretty hard. The only armor in the game you can wear besides moon devotion robe is the two identical selunite robes found in isobels room, its the same ac as the base leather armor a rogue starts with. You want to simp for selune? then try hard all you can at my conjured brutality.
Interesting 🤔
IM ACTUALLY DOING THIS PLAYTHROUGH RIGHT NOW
Already made it to Act 3, I have been using companions (All respecced into wizards) and standard mode but wow, nice to see someone else doing this dumb challenge
Also i chose to play Evocation wizard, the companions also evocation
because they get alot more spell slots, Spell slot recovery, and evocation wizards at lvl 10 add their intelligence modifier to evocation spell damage which Magic Missile is
Thus making magic missile even more powerful
Oh trust me I know! At the end I was doing some nutty damage!
Do they get more spell slots? I thought Sorcerer’s point conversion is equal to Wizard’s spell slot recovery?
Glad I found your stuff! Helps fill the insatiable need I have for BG3 😆
haha glad you enjoy!
Haha when you tried to kill the priestess and she Shielded all your missiles.. your face in that moment was exactly like mine, first time I launched my trusted barrage of magic missiles at an undead boss in tabletop D&D, only to discover he was wearing an amulet of permanent shield xD
Oof haha!
magic missile is good in 5e, but with item synergies it was one of my favorite spells in bg3 - especially when you combine it with the tadpole power that explodes people if they get hp down to your number of tadpole powers
It’s broken good!
Beautiful Sudoku build - so many numbers! ^-^
Indeed!
Dude, I don't know what quality you're uploading in but this looks WAY cleaner than normal BG3 videos i've seen on other channels. Great video too btw +1
Thanks dude!
Ive watched this run a few times now just on in the background, and I finally realized what "MMM" was reminding me of and when you actually said the letters instead of the sound it clicked. "MM" from the boys!
Edit: Love the content, the videos, the live steams. All A+ work
It might go against the spirit of the run but there's a scroll in sorcerous sundries called Artistry of war which you can learn as a wizard, it works the same as magic missile but it does 2d6+6 damage instead of 1d4+1
Oh trust me I learned it. I didn’t use it but I really wanted to!
Its such a high spell slot though without regaining slots u can only use it like twice per fight pretty sure 😭

Bro I haven't seen your channel since the beginning of CP2077. Nice to see you doing content on another banger of a game.
Appreciate it
You really should be taking advantage of the storm sorcery flight, it’s super huge when you get surrounded by a bunch of gnolls.
This is over now so I know you’ve probably learned this, but for any viewers who want to try this, that is my one piece of advice.
Exceptional video my friend.
I remember feeling so smart when I discovered the dice spam damage mechanic on scorching ray and not thinking about magic missile.
What's awesome is that the magic missile build isn't actually a bad build or anything.
I can’t get enough of this game. I’ve watched numerous full play through, guides, memes and have a full play though and ready to start my second one.
It is D2 levels of good for me.
Also, I don’t think you understand how that thunder damage ring works that you got from Nere. Gotta dish out thunder damage to receive the bonus damage from the ring. It says that….right there in the description
I’m surprised no one mentioned using knock for balthazar or the callous glow ring, also with how much radiant damage you were doing the luminous armor might have been better
We talked about it, I just didn’t want to put it in the video.
For the Grym Forge fight, you can use a mage hand to use the hammer and with the right positioning you can hit Grym multiple times in a round with it
Tried the build with some tweaks and the max damamge i did with a level 6 magic missle was 312 damage...add haste and you do about 500 damage easily on average per round. Jesus this build is amazing
I love that at the start of this video you said magic missile wasnt a good spell. I’m sure it upset everyone including myself who knew exactly how good it could be. It was my main build for Gale in Honour Mode.
I Definity didn't know how good it was going to get!
I have never encountered those duelists, like ever. I've completed 3 full runs including an honor mode run and am now on my 4th. I have no idea who they are or where to find them 😂 I love this game.
I'm pretty sure anyone who played BG3 an avg amount of hours knows magic missile is pretty much the best spell of the game because of gear "exploits" and its always-hit feature.
Still nice vid, good showcase and liked the pace / edit
Just avoid like the 3 npcs that use shield and your good to go! 😁👍
Best in the game is a massive stretch but it’s definitely a solid spell
Oh for sure, it took me just a short while to realize how good it was going to be!
@@torrent0411and ketheric with his damage reduction, and Ansur for the same reason, and Mykurl on tactician+ where he keeps the armor damage reduction from Ketheric, and Gortash when he gets his phase two force immunity (I think I may be wrong about that one) then you should be good 👍
you can make lae'zel and shadowheart jump off the nautiloid to avoid using them in combat
True
If you kill all the rats before talking to yurgir, you don't need to fight him and he will not only help you get to the house of hope but fight with you without you having to ever roll any checks with him.
If you used perilous stakes you could’ve trivialized a lot of these fighting doing literally double the damage more than likely one turning a lot of high health enemies
It's one of my fav spells, period. It's an auto-hit, no roll to attack and no save, so it's automatic damage. Even if it's only d4's, those can do some serious damage all stacking up on one enemy. It's a constant in Gale's spell list for me.
it's so good!

I gotta say , that was hella fun
LES GOO I LOVE BG3 AS WELL LES GO

22:15 I would hope that the goblins have enough self preservation to notice a full grown grizzly bear
I ran a sorcerer with a similar build but was mainly a fire sorcerer, so it wasn’t even a min-max. I changed my build because it was just too op 😂
You can use the dancing light cantrip or there a throwable version too
He could use his bonus action to fly away because it doesn’t provoke an opportunity attack
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
There’s a ring which gives you a magic missile that explodes on hit. I use it as soon as I get it.
If you let Gut roofie you then don't escape from the shackles an assassin shows up and kills her and her ogre for you.
Very cheesy, but the shield of devotion in the inn in act 2 lets you generate infinite spell slots and sorcery points by removing the spell slot it gives you with meta magic, then unequipting and reequipting the shield, rinse and repeat.
I do wonder, though- why not use perilous stakes to make enemies vulnerable to all your extra damage? Is that a requirement of the run?
This was fun. Now for honor mode. :P
As soon as you reach 3rd Level spells just get your companions at camp to be all clerics with "Create Food and Water" Camp supplies are no issue anymore ever from level 5 onwards
You never use all Spellslots on all Companions anyway and the game does give you this way to cheese supplies even in honor mode making long rests free again
You do realize that spell isn't in the game, right?
evocation wizard is actually the best option for this imo. at level 10 empowered evocation provides extra dmg equal to your int modifier to every hit of magic missile. Assuming its +5, for a 6 level magic missile its +40 dmg
I change to wizard after hitting high enough level! Being low level and having high charisma was super helpful so I’m glad I started sorcerer.
@@abrahamsandwich ah thats amazing, shouldve watched the whole video hahha
The fact that he didn´t use the "friends" cantrip at all throughout the run gives me physical pain.
I did, just didn’t show it.
@@abrahamsandwich Oh damn my bad bro didn´t know
wow. I've hear of drs, understand how it's (practically) quadratically scaling damage, and knows how ludicrous it gets. What I didn't realize is that it comes online so quickly.

55:25 Why didn’t he just disengage when he moved further away instead of fog clouding?
"Im not taking the -1 to attack rolls"
You are using a spell that has a 100% chance to hit
Yeah, but Astarion is an asshole. If it weren't for the stat potion you can use him to get, I'd stake him in that cutscene every time.
It also hurts ability checks and saves so it’s not just that the debug sucks to have early and isn’t worth it unless you actually use adrarían in fights or are romancing him.
Glad I saw this video, because it's showing one of the same bugs with Lightning Charges I'm seeing. 6:40 when starting from 0 charges, you're generating the correct number of charges per missile, however only dealt a single tick of lightning damage from those charges on your third missile vs the expected behavior of a tick on the second missile, as well.
EDIT - Damnit, I put this on as background noise for building a gunpla, but there's a good chance you're also gonna give me video of the Boots of Stormy Clamour not proccing off Reverberation & Gloves of Belligerent Skies not working properly with multi-missile spells as well, aren't you lol? Shit, I even am seeing the same eating of 2 charges on Lightning Charge proc.
Honest question, did you just not notice all these interactions not working properly? Because in every clip of combat I'm actively paying attention to, the items aren't working properly multiple times per combat. That's a big part of why you're not dealing nearly as much damage as expected; each cycle of Lightning Charge proc is eating 2 charges it should be giving you, leading to less procs overall, and the Boots not proccing off of the Reverberation that the Gloves cause is leading to less stacks of Reverberation & thus less procs of that overall, as well.
Underdark through the Zhent hideout is probably the fastest/easiest method to get there. I’ve been using it to get Phalar early for my Dex characters. Just a heads up.
Yeah probably
fastest easiest way is to let priestess gut poison you and have raphael's dwarf simp rescue you, leads you right to the selunite area
@@Laurannah101 I slightly disagree only because you have to pass two goblin groups to get to that one. You don’t have to fight them if you roll well, but there’s only one required dialogue skill check and a lockpick or two if you go the Zhent way. (You can fail the first check when the guy blows up the oil barrel without having to fight anyone.)
@@eriiicj.1558just play as it disguise as a Drow and those checks go away so yeah the shattered Sanctum one is fastest, the temple is literally right next to Phalar Aluve and connects to the Arcane tower and is across the way from the Myconid colony, only way I ever go to the under dark.
@@eriiicj.1558 You have to go fight the gnolls to get to the hideout, which is a significantly harder fight than both goblin groups.
The really obnoxious thing about shoving is, if it would push them into a wall, it fails.
My god I just had the most uncanny moment. This is the first time (I thought) I had even seen gameplay of BG3 but when you hit the first area I was like "What the hell, I've literally played this before!"
Which would be weird since the game hasn't been out a year and I would have known it was BG3 considering all the hype.
So yeah, they actually released a demo back in 2020. I was literally questioning my own sanity there for a moment. Freaky.
You can use the Ogre Horn anywhere in Act 1 (even underground) except the Mountain Pass for some reason
Mountain pass is kinda Act 1.5 so that may be the reason I guess
I'd really recommend siding with minthara and the goblins, it’s very easy, unless allies counts against the challenge, you can just retreat for the first part and let the spiders and goblins tear up the tieflings, the hard part is the druids since the spider and ogre mysteriously disappear after the first fight
But then I lock myself out of all the gear Damon sells. I used some good stuff from him!
@@abrahamsandwichhe do be having the best armor, it’s worth it in the long run, but you can get an extra 2 tadpoles if you side with minthara, I'd suggest killing rapheal in act 1 for his armor, it’s the second best in the game and doesn’t require any proficiency, but it’s impossible in this challenge I think, you'd need to cast silence over him and then destroy while silence is up, I recommend the helm of grit, it gives you another bonus action each turn while you’re below 50% health
@@sifins1579that’s literally one of the worst choices in the game, not counting the loot even you lose Dammon, Zevlor, Mol, and Halsin as allies in the final fight, Karlach, Wyll, and Halsin as companions, counting loot you lose all the stuff from Dammon, the potent robes from Alfira, the boots that boat AC and Saves form one of the tiefling kids and so much more all just to sleep with Minthara only for her to still try to kill you. Opinions are opinions but this has to be either troll bait or the worst opinion for this game I’ve ever seen.

2:00 but you can make laezel... leave the minute she becomes your team mates. on a tooootaaalyyy different note: did you that "companions" can jump into the abyss wich makes them... lets say leave semi-permanetly?
Good work magic missile macgyver.
I feel like I rely too heavily on magic missles, but at the same time I don't like missing when the enemies are at low health. I personally wouldn't mind if it was fixed at 90% or 95% hit rate, but that's what mods are for.
But that's literally been the point of Magic Missle since Dungeons and Dragons came out. A low base damage spell that always hits. Do what you want I guess, but it feels weird to want to change a staple spell that's been around for decades at this point.
So what you’re saying is you hate the spell and what a completely different one? The entire point of the spell is to not miss and you don’t like that? There’s nothing stopping you from not using the spell just never learn it if you get to tempted on the hotbar. Stop hoping that they’ll make this horrible change and good luck finding the mod for this lmao.
Is there any method to get magic missle on a warlock?
