- In this session, Ruben shares a few simple exercises to practice on the conga. This online video lesson will help you improve your groove while building solo skills for the palm, open and slap techniques. The exercises utilize one drum and are based on six-beat patterns that are played with alternating strokes using the strong hand.
More videos should be made like this. Many ppl can't afford a full set of congas and have to start out with just one. This was great. Awesome job bruddah. Thanks.
Clear and articulate presentation of ideas
Great lesson! Thank you.
Master, Master, Master >>> i love this :)
Very helpful instruction. Thank you.
Al principio creí que era capulina, pero después de ver todo el video le mando mis totales respetos MASTER!!!! por favor suba más videos
Hey Ruben : thanks for the Bongo Lessons : Mike Margherone
Se parece a Capulina. muy didactico el video. Saludos Ruben.
top man
The title says it all, “fun with one” ….I have three but I honestly enjoy just holding a groove with the quinto
I said God damn this guy is amazing.
Thanks for the video. It would be helpful for a beginner like me, if you would break down the rhythm.
I just bought a single drum to learn on, is that an okay way to learn the congas? I am a bongo player so it kind of feels like the natural next step! :)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and really like your video!
The way play on one drum , it sounds like your using 2 and sometimes 3 .
To confusing for a beginner like me. I'd appreciate it more if there were more break downs and at a slower repetitive pace. Also advising on which hand leads ( right or left)
If you're right handed...
R palm L palm
R open L open
R slap L slap
