@@PeterBarber still handsome but grow it back 😘😜 I thought you were imitating Tim Foust in your cover of "We don't talk about baldness" Bruno! I mean Bruno.
The best part was when the demon forced its way through your body! 4 syllables Subharmonic technique is incredibly impressive. Hope to hear things like that more often from you! Imo Bass Gang's best arrangement, vocals, video and costuming.
Congratulations on your partnership. A worthy venture indeed! Nice job Bass Gang on this video. BTW it's adorable Peter how bias you are. You're eyes light up like a little kid on Christmas morning.
I'm always down for bassy stuff and even more for creepy ambient like songs and soundtracks and this combines both. This is now officially my new favorite song ever. And pls Peter tell the others that we definetly want more sea shantys
Congratulations on the Tunelark partnership. I love your reactions of Bass Gang works. It is nice to have an insiders view. This one brings the shivers from the beginning to the end.
Serious congratulations on your connection with Tunelark! And LOVE Sea Shantys!!! WOW Peter!!! This is fantastic! Shivers happening with those unbelievable low notes. Just WOW!!!!
100% agree with you about Marwan. I'm almost a decade older than you, and I struggle to reach a C2 a lot of the time and this kid's out here dropping Bb1 like it's nothing. I'm completely untrained, but sing for fun, and you and The Bass Gang have helped me develop an understanding of pitch, hearing singers in a range I can imitate lol.
Hey Peter, love the analysis that you do and the insight into singing as a whole that you give. It really is so cool the intricacy that you can see once someone breaks it down. You've inspired me to start taking private opera lessons which I hope will push me to improve in ways I wasn't aware of. Love the new look!
My feeling of the song is you 4 are damned souls of lost sailors warning future people against the lure of the sea... while pulling them out still anyway... With the future sea shanty's do we see how your group got to this damned souls stage? There has to be more after this and Santiana! Love it Peter and damn those vocals are so good on this one! I always loved this song and i think this is definitely the new favorite one Also indeed Nicole did an amazing job! super creepy and amazing!
This is so refreshing to hear TBG doing bassy bass stuff again. Loved the reaction - your 1st time reactions to your own work is always enjoyable to watch.
@PeterBarber I so wish I could join you guys. I'm about the same age as Marwan and hitting the stuff with you guys. Y'all do incredible work and it would be such an honor and sincere joy to make something like this with truly wonderful people such as yourselves. Been a fan since almost day one when I discovered and I shall remain till we are no more.
Great song, great reaction. Nicole has edited my favorite TBG videos so I hope she does many more to come. Love Mason's comments. The new haircut works, it's always good to try something different. We definitely need more TBG sea shanties!
Peter, you figured right on the opera! I've taken to singing along with this song (mostly in the morning for reasons you know), and it's rapidly becoming my top Halloween song! Unrelated question: how often do you take breaks (or recommend taking) when doing opera? If I do it more than every other day my voice begins to ache
@Peter Barber, it is great that you use your operatic voice. I guess "there's no I in team", and it's the overall performance that counts. That being said, each one of you has a very specific voice, timbre, and technique (you mentioned Tommy's growl, Bobby's breathy, smooth voice, and Marwan's clean tones). So it's awesome to hear you make wider use of yours. I think it enriches the experience and the range that #TheBassGang can play with. It worked especially well on Santiana and this one (not on TikTok can't comment on that). And Gaston hello! That was sick!
Appreciate the info about Tunelark, I am definitely checking it out. Love the song and review, you all seemed to have so much enjoyment from the makeup and the arrangement.
You all did a phenomenal job with this song! It gave me goosebumps from beginning to end! I'm still recovering from the atomic bombs that were unleashed by Bobby and Tomi, but I will admit, it was a very awesome experience, lol. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
MORE BASS SHANTY!!!!!! You guys absolutely KILLED this, and it's on repeat for this bass-lovin chick!! Peter, I always love your breakdowns of the Bass Gang songs. I love your breakdowns for any video you put out, but for TBG, I'm so here. Each one of you is so incredibly talented, and I love how you give love and shout outs to your boys. Oh, and your low notes were fire 🔥 And I agree with you that Bobby has one of the most incredible bass vocals! ❤ dreamy sigh ❤ Kudos to seeing him in the moon lol. I hadn't caught that before. Love you guys so much!!!
When I first hear this shanty and I thought this is not really catchy, but that evening I started to sing this melody in my mind. And I could not fall asleep
Congratulations on the partnership, Peter. It seems like a great resource. As always, your insights are so interesting, even if you blow Mason's ears out every now and then. 😂 Please keep utilizing your opera training in these covers. I love when you tap into that. Each of you, as you discussed, brings a different timbre and sound to the group, and that's part of yours. Also, just to comment on the fitness topic, I have also spent the latter part of the summer and the fall incorporating pilates inspired workouts into my routine, which was mostly weight training before. Those workouts I use 3 lb hand weights, maximum. Alot of it is body weight as well. While I've never had a big frame, and even working out for years, my body, as a whole, has stayed relatively the same, I can see a difference in my shoulders. They actually have some definition going on, all from body weight and 3 lb hand weights. Crazy. Lastly, Jason Statham is a good look. I approve. 👍🏻
OMG! Yes, MORE Sea Shantys from TBG! Of course anything from TBG is going to be amazing! TY Peter for the commentary. I am always learning something new from you. You do have a striking resemblance to Jason Statham. I am a huge fan of his too!
Great video, great analysis. I’d love to see more sea shanty’s from you guys! This one was great. Congrats on the partnership! Also the hair (or lack thereof) looks good. The song choice makes so much more sense after I saw the full video. “In loving memory of Sam Waters.” What a great tribute
What an amazing cover and analysis. Always great to hear your insider’s perspective. Loved the fitness tangent, you’re a bit of an inspiration for me to get back into it! Also you’re suiting the new haircut already!
Wow, Peter, the deep basses! Having each of you featured, showcased your voice and it’s operatic depth so much. Congrats on your joint musical venture. It’s obvious how strongly you feel about the importance of music for all! BTW, a different look: what happened to your hair? 🤗
I definitely have lost my heart....😍🎵😊 This production is brilliant, your singing is overwhelming 💨 ( nevertheless, your voice will always be the most beautiful to me !!). Now I'm filled with great ' bass feelings ' 😅. Many thanks for this amazing music video and of course your interesting analysis on it as well. 🤗
Still learning about The Bass Gang. How did you all meet or can you point me to a video or article that talks about that. I find it fascinating that you are from all over the world.
I love your videos! It'd be really interesting if you possibly could check out one Finnish actor&singer because he has such a nice vocal range and talent. His name is Konsta Hietanen and he was in a Finnish tv show called Tähdet, Tähdet, where a group of Finnish singers were competing against each other on multiple different music genres and Konsta pretty much wiped the table instantly. 😂 So I'd love to hear your analysis and opinion about him! Maybe check the song "Hullu", I think that shows his range really nicely. Or maybe you'd be interested on hearing his version of "Nessun Dorma!"
Dude. I've been shaving my head since 2008. It is SO NICE not to have to worry about hair. You can just shave it in the shower and go on with your day without having to think about it. :)
I tried to say to someone when Angelina Jordan was performing at age 9 her voice became better when she had more age and experience they didn't understand and got highly offended. As good as he is now I'm looking forward to the richness Marwan's voice will have as he ages.
I understand And i know that the song is great. I understand that promotion is important. But it’s so strange to make a reaction to a group in which you yourself sing. I immediately have an irrational, unpleasant feeling, as if I was being deceived...
As an artist it is always important to analyze yourself. How will you ever improve by criticism and/or analysis from others alone? You need to see what others see. Not only that, but very entertaining seeing how excited an artist gets over his and his fellow musicians. Plus how he analysis the arrangements is very informative.
You should probably watch the videos before commenting. He always explains his relation with the piece and in my opinion these videos are the most entertaining because of his personal relation with the music and insider knowledge.
The boys of The Bass Gang are back with their first sea shanty! Arranged by Bobby and video edited by Nicole, I hope y'all enjoy 🏴☠
This was a-maz-ing! I can't wait to see/hear your reaction. And o.m.g. did you have to shave your head?! 😮
@@mindywiese7610 I did indeed! It's more like a buzz now but it was almost bald when I filmed
@@PeterBarber still handsome but grow it back 😘😜 I thought you were imitating Tim Foust in your cover of "We don't talk about baldness" Bruno! I mean Bruno.
@@mindywiese7610 Someday I'll have Tim hair if I believe hard enough
@@PeterBarber yes silver fox! I loooved it when he cut it.
1) You look like you're 25.
2) Marwan's voice is insane for a teenager
3) Bobby's arrangement on this was WORLD CLASS.
4) Luv.
5) Tomis growls are crazy
I don't think Marwan is a teenager any longer. He was 16 almost 17 when I first heard him so he should be 20 now.
Although if this was actually done 6 months ago then he's still 19. I don't know. I can't find anything online on his or Peter's birth year.

Oh Peter btw, have you considered doing a colab with Geoff Castellucci, I think that could be another epic video
This gets better everytime I hear it. The video is very eerie. Good job guys

The fact Marwan is listed as a low tenor on the range planet is a crime. Not to mention Tomi being put as a baritone.

Full documentary coming out early 2024 :) but we all met in a bass singer discord server in 2020
Yes, please! First time commenting! Bring on more eerie, bassy sea shanties! \o/

More sea shanties!!

I think you're an opera singer trapped inside a cute guy's body! This is awesome!
Another BASS GANG masterpiece! Also, ❤ the new haircut!
no free downloads?
Hi there @PeterBarber, I'd love for you to react to Song of Durin, by Clamavi de Profundis. It is a poem from the Hobbit sung by an amazing crew!
I think Nicole did a spectacular job on the video. I don’t think y’all need a “better” video.
Yo Peter are you the titular Jolly Sailor Bald? lmao
