- Our small and outdated bathroom was in much need of renovation. We hired Victoria Plum to modernise our bathroom and reviewed them. Our bathroom is completely unrecognisable now.

The problem with the old loo seat was most likely that the hinges were on the wrong sides. This puts the hinges too close to the cistern, so the seat can’t lean back. It’s an easy job to swap them round. I only make this comment for other people with the same problem - your new bathroom looks great!

I'm really surprised that they don't do the side panel equal to the size of the bath so that you don't have to have that strip in there. That would have been a deal breaker for me. Great transformation though!
Nice , that odd strip kills it for me , maybe if he’d put another strip so it looks like panels off equal width would make it look fine

Could have got a tongue and groove click shower wall panel which would have gotten rid of the chrome strip. Fit these weekly.

Thank you! 🙂 We used the Graham & Brown Rhapsody Resistance Ultra Matt Emulsion - it’s not cheap but good quality paint & we were after this type of shade in particular which we found hard to find. Here’s the link to the product:

How much did this lovely bathroom cost, also what other problems arose?
Aww thank you. Well they told us it should’ve cost £6.5k but the designer omitted some of the costs in the final plan and we also got it during the sale, so with this in mind we got it for £5.6k.
We took out one of their interest free loans for 3 years.
No other problems arose as far as we recall and they are helpful if you can get hold of someone on the phone!
Hi guys, can I ask if you used one of the Victoria Plum fitters or an independent local one? Also any advice on dealing with Victoria Plum throughout the process?
Hi Roman, we used a subcontractor from Victoria Plum. The guy was independent, but does work for Victoria Plum and they will assign someone for you (unless you want to go local which might be cheaper).
The best advice we can give you is to make sure you have a clear idea for what you want before you submit a request for designs. We wasted a lot of time going back and forth with the designs and because it was hard to get them to answer the phone, it caused unnecessary delays.

Hi, yes it will and will probably show up more as limescale is white in colour, but if you maintain it and get rid of water droplets regularly and use a limescale remover you can keep it looking new. We love the look of our black shower/taps!

Dropping the price based on paying cash isn't uncommon. He'll basically not pay VAT on that job which gives a 20% reduction (i.e. £700) and he's willing to pass on £500 of that to you. But your other points seem valid.

I have refurbished over 15 bathrooms over the past 30 years, all look like spa 5* hotel bathrooms. I would have sent them away the day they came with that panel. It does look brown and looks awful. They spoilt the whole look of your bathroom. Also l would have killed them with that back wall joint and put a silver trim in it. If they had to do that they should have butted the two peices of panels together as tight as possible and put a clear silicone down the joint. And l put money on it, it would hardly been noticeable. Now l know not to do refurbishment with Victoria plumbing. They took you for two mugs and fed you garbage and did what they wanted. That job is not acceptable. I would be sueing them. Or make them come back and change those panels free of charge.

Hi Manisha, yes the final price was the same as the quote and it’ll only change if you change any of the products. The fitter will carry out a survey before the work is done to make sure measurements and everything are okay so that nothing unexpected comes up. If they have to change something they’ll let you know beforehand. Hope this helps.
1 year on - How is the bathroom holding up
It’s still going well thank you. We still wish we said something about the painting/finer details but otherwise it’s fine

You know U can buy toilet seats that don’t slam right? lol they close slowly look it up
They should never have fitted the back panel like that. Better off to have ripped it into 3 same sized pieces, at least then you would have had two silver strips equal and it would have looked nice regardless the colour of the panels. They found 2 young people and pulled the wool over your eyes and worse of all you accepted it and paid for it. You paid for a cowboy job to be done.
