When you released the first video I had no idea it would turn into the behemoth project that it is, but I’m so glad it did. There’s something to be said about long, steady projects that we can all watch grow and pour our love into, but I’m also glad to be seeing it finally finished. It’s such a relief to get to the end of a project, and to look back at it happy with what you’ve created. I’m SOOO excited to see what concepts you jump onto next, apoctober is a story I’ve been wanting to see more of and has really hooked me, but I know that whatever challenge you take on next is gonna be a creative feast, I can’t wait!!

I really appreciate the slight change you made to maizmen's redesign, and while I still prefer the og, this is definitely a LOT better (personally) to look at compared to the version you made last time with the brown stalk. The yellow/cream colour fits a lot more here and isn't jarring to look at, will happily use this on my team!
Been following this for years now and while I probably won't watch much else on your channel until you make a possible 2nd fakemon region, or just make another video on a game I like, I will pop back here every now and then.
Also as someone who is doing art at a higher lvl in college, eventually university, watching this series has genuinely made me a better artist imo, as well as watching some of your other videos on 'overdesigning characters' or 'creating strong creature designs'. Looking forward to what you do next, and thank you for making some of the best looking (and real looking) fakemon on the site.

I love all the changes shown in this video! Chespika looks like such a cute troublemaker that I would love to have on my team! Liloriña’s evolutions I don’t have much to say, but I love the slight personality shifts for them (the moody teen and the red-handed killer definitely tell a story of an “entitled” character resorting to very drastic measures, but that’s just my take).
And the sirens! Absolutely love what you’ve done with the sirens! Younger me would be so insane over them, let me tell you. My guess for why you chose a constant sepia color palette for the shinies is maybe old pictures? Before colored pictures were a thing, people would only have grainy black-and-white or sepia pictures, and maybe the shinies nod to these old-timey pictures that started confirming oral tales of these pokemon which were at first dismissed by skeptics. That’s my guess on the siren shinies, at least.

Even if they weren't related to art or my Fakemon region Erblin, I got to learn how to handle my videos and make them palpable for everybody else. Before these critiques, I had text dialogue that was too fast to read properly. So it's important for everyone to try and listen to our fans and get another perspective on how we can draw art pieces or edit videos!
I'm still working on Erblin today. And even though I'm hard on myself and get easily burnt out, watching and learning from others gets me excited to create things! And I have to thank you Jack for being one of those artists who gave me not only inspiration to create, but also motivation!
Oh! Sepia sirens? Argyle Finch themed posts were colored in a sepia style. That's a big reference! I like it!

I started watching this channel before the mazah region project started, and I'm going to be sticking around far after it as well. I love all you're current content, but I started following this channel because the art was wonderful and both Jack and Clair having the most charming personalities, and changing what you're focusing on isn't going to change those things!! I'm exited to see where you're going next, and good luck with all that :)

I absolutely adored the developments of the mazah region from the start and this was a lovely conclusion.
As part of the contrast it might be fun to see you do some designs that could fit into other beloved series but with lower stakes like digimon, they can just literally be anything from over designed to under designed.
A sonic OC would be interesting but you would end up getting a lot of that fanbase, for better or worse.
I think it would be interesting to see you approach environment design from a character design perspective.
My guess for sepia is that is how their depictions are in universe, as the locals have either sketched them out with primitive art supplies or they have just recently gotten film and so the pictures are in sepia, I'd assume the latter though as berries for colourful pigments would be quite an early development for artists.
(which thinking about it would make for an amazing shiny design, like cave/ruins painting colour palette)

Love the whole region, huge fan of all of these redesigns, it breathes so much more life into each pokemon that they go from just some pokemon I would never choose, to ones I would absolutely use in gameplay. The Melu quartet changes I think are my favourite, before this, I didn't even notice the deep see creature mimic on Melumist, but now because it's so visible and clear it's 100% my favourite out of the 4! Also good luck on your future youtube endeavours, big fan of all the freakazoid creatures so anytime those appear I'll be watchin' 'em

I enjoy many of the changes of these poke'mon and I can't wait to play with them when the game comes out, with the pokedex done I do hope that the game will be release sooner then later. I must say I never saw anything wrong with Chispeka oldest/newest design but I do think that this gives more energy to the pose and overall shows off it's cute but tough pokemon design you were going for, and do hope to have in my party at sometime while playing. the Lilorina line while not my favorite, I do love the changes that were done that makes it feel so much better and I feel it will be a cool pokemon to fight when we battle Valentina. The sirens are overall a nice change I like the changes done to Melumyst, and Melumourn they look so much better. Melumaunder is great but I really like the first design that you did. it was in my opinion much better then the final look that you desided, although it's still much better then the original version, and It might very well be my new favorite of the sirens. Melumuse was my favorite and very well might still be, I still think the original design was perfect. although unlike Melumaunder I do think your final design was the best out of all the different version that you created. there were aspects I like from the early drafts but this final version still keeps some of the features I loved about the original design. I do look forward to seeing this new capture monster seires you plan on making, as well as any more new pokemon designs that you might be inspire to make despite the fact you plan on making another region. I do hope that within the game we do get to battle an NPC of you and Claire using your favorite pokemon from the Maza region, maybe the final fight like Red was is pokemon gold and silver.

I believe the sepia filter on the Siren shinies reflects the images in Argyle Finch's journal - faded colours to match the 1950s ish aesthetic of the old sailor's encounters drawn out at the same time as the sirens.

Make Malumyst‘s head thorns facing the other direction, to its back so that it looks more like a Mohawk and also follows the logic of how shells grow (they don’t face to the front but grow „out“). I also think you should rework its tail. I love it but it could be reinforced

16:22 I love melumourn!! The details on the coral legs are amazing! I love the pink tint on them!!
19:41 I'm surprised melumist was your least favorite! I love how insect like it is with the fake eyes. A deep sea pokemon is such a cool idea!! Oooh ok yes I love the new silhouette!! It looks so much like a giant maw of a creature! Like seeing a Deep sea gyarados mouth! I love it!! This would be terrifying to see!!
22:05 I love the body shape here!! The kelp like hair of the final design is so good!!
The sepia toned shinies are really fun too. A lot of people are saying it's to mimic the merman story which might be true but they also look dried out. As if human contact injured them somehow. Either way they look cool!! I miss the chunky feel of all of them but overall the design decisions you made are so cool. I love all the redesigns in this video. I cant believe you're done with this region!! What a ride! I learned so much!! Looking forward to whatever else you guys come up with!

I would still make some very minor adjustments to Lilorina, but the evolutions are absolutely amazing now, and a huge improvement. Definitely a mon that I would love to have on my team.
Chispeka looks amazing now! It was pretty bland before, mainly due to the pose and lack of expressiveness, but now I can confidently say that I like it more than any of the official pika-clones.
Melumourn (love the new name btw) I think I like slightly less. The old hat was more vague, blending hat and coral well, and I don't think the new one reads as both too well. Aside from that, there are some small things I like better, and some I like less, but overall my opinion changed less than the design itself.
Melumonder is a huge improvement. It went from being somewhat forgettable (especially for a rare pokemon) to one of my favorites. That being said, if you stuck with the first of the drafts in this video, it would be my number 1 for this region. I absolutely love it 17:39
Melumyst's new design is so damn cool, I 100% approve. The silhouette is just perfection, and it really delivers on the ideas behind it.
Melumuse... This was the one I was most concerned about changing, and while most of the new design I'm pretty happy with, I really think the decision to make the leg/hair parts wavy was an awful idea. I think it loses a lot of the strong shapes, feels a lot less held together and blobby (which, I guess could be a good thing for a water based mon, but unbalances the design). I really felt like it hit the perfect balance of being just vague enough to be super interesting before, and now it just reads as a humanoid with some wavy bits connecting the hair and feet. Before those two parts looked united, and I couldn't tell where one part ended and the other began, but breaking up the line connecting those two things into a wave just destroys the illusion imo. That's my one complaint with it.
For how concerned I was about changed so many different fakemon in these two parts (Which just shows how emotionally connected I was to your amazing designs), There was very little that I didn't like, and a ton that got massively improved. And thanks for making me a better artist myself through this whole process, while entertaining me with your unique vision as an artist and storyteller.

What an incredible journey! This was a fantastic journey to follow. I noticed two details that stunned me. First, the gap in the silhouette of Melumyst between its head and back. That pushed the design so much into incomprehensible territory without making it unapproachable. The second was the joy I felt when Melumuse became the new Hatsune Miku with “hastune miku, you are looking so waterfall today” energy. The definition of hair, legs, and the connection made via arcane river imagery is captivating.
Of course, I could rewatch this and come up with many more things that struck a chord with me. But congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Yoronaqua went from a cool concept with a rather messy execution to "Step on me skeleton mommie! Thick thighs end lives!" I mean come on, the bone white colour on her legs make it look like she's wearing thigh highs.

If your region was an official pokemon region then it was easily be my favorite one since I actually like every pokemon in this dex. Everything feels nicely and cleverly designed and feeling bittersweet to see it come to an end. I remember the staters video and feeling excited when you announced you were going to make your pokedex.
