I think I saw anxiety as less misunderstood and more of a reflection of how Joy acted in the first movie. all of the memories sent down by her were orange, and she often disregarded other emotions under the delusion that this is the best for riley.
The anxiety scene made me cry my eyes out like a gasket as my heart raced. I struggle with suppressing emotions which became a thing in my early teens. But seeing this movie in my late teens made me question whether the premise would apply to me or not because of the huge gap of time between the first and second films and me not being thirteen anymore. But it was very good at conveying the panic attack scene, especially for me who struggles with anxiety and panic attacks. Normally movies don't make me cry, but next to Soul and UP, this one had me fighting back tears because of how much I related to Riley and her experiences. Especially concerning suppressing your emotions and the literal avalanche that comes along with that which I experienced earlier this year. My mom held my hand during the last few scenes which honestly just made it all the more impactful because this is a film not only for kids or teens but also for adults and it's truly amazing how people of all ages can come together and relate to and learn the different emotions and how it affects a person especially during their teenage years. Nice job Pixar, the bar was kinda low but you raised it.

Absolutely same here. I watched the first when i was 10 with my mom so i already felt connected to and liked riley and joy so seeing them hurt the same way as i’ve felt. Especially riley. It really stung. I’ve felt that exact same anxiety attack ish feeling where it feels like your heart is gonna explode after a breakup with a girl. And now that i’m 19 and have been through all of that i felt so damn connected to this movie which i doubt kids would understand. The movie literally feels like a hug they give you 😭 so many of the moments in the movie made me shed tears like dude «i’m not good enough» 😭 And i love the comedy because it’s not just fun but it stops you from crying a bit 🥲
I love the score for Cars 2 which was done by Michael Giacchino and Animation is great. But story not that much. Third film did much better story even with ending a bit disappointing since they had a good deleted scene that was not in final film but it did justify as a sequel to first Cars film.
What I fear now is that if inside out 2 is Disney's only box office win of the year, they will double Triple down on inside out an milk it as a franchise, a spin off show more sequels a bunch of merchandise and if they are really desperate a live action remake Like how they did the Mandalorian and toy story
Weirdly though, I think its kind of like toy story. A 3rd movie would make sense, because we get to see Riley/Andy move on from their childhood in a bittersweet finale.
The problem with Disney is that they make shows that people can’t relate too very often, and they aren’t think about kids and teenagers. Nowadays it’s let’s make things about gender identity, stereotypes, labels. I don’t want my little niece and nephews to be talking about labels and sexuality.
The thing with inside out 2 saving Pixar is that this is the exact thing we thought for Dreamworks, we were all hopeful with bad guys and last wish being great movies that Dreamworks was back, then.. teenage kraken and kungfu panda 4 were not great
The Wild Robot looks great and I'm sure it will turn out well with the director of How to Train Your Dragon at the core of the film. Sadly it sounds like this will be the last in house DreamWorks project since they're outsourcing stuff to other companies.

I thought Elemental was good, despite it being an immigrant story the love story aspect was the best part of the movie and I was invested in that relationship. The reason the movie did well in Asian countries was because of the immigrant aspect. I haven't seen this movie yet and I hope to eventually. I didn’t watch The Bad Guys and I thought Puss in Boots The Last Wish was great but I understand what you mean. However I don’t worry about Pixar too much. I just decide whether or not a movie is good and that won’t affect how I feel about Pixar.
You should go see it, it’s really good! I loved the film and so did my siblings! They’re practically movie reviewers but you should at least try to see it! Everyone is in character and the graphics are INCREDIBLE (Again I’m just highly advising you to see it but if you don’t want to then that’s okay too!) I am also worried about the future of Pixar but I feel like the Inside Out franchise will do very well! Not sure about others tho…
I think maybe the reason why envy wasn't shown much was because maybe Riley isn't that much of a envious person and maybe that's why envy is small in stature too.
Ironically, Soul felt like the last time Pixar had a, well - soul. Everything else since then has just felt like new content for the Disney marketing machine restricting storytelling which is a shame. I saw the promotional stuff for Inside Out 2 and just shrugged. It'll find its fans but I wish we got a new project tackling the ideas of anxiety instead, especially with how well it was conveyed in Puss in Boots The Last Wish and Spiderverse. Sadly it seems like original projects are being phased out for more sequels over at Pixar so I guess I'm just sticking with indie content for a while.
It was good, wouldn't mind watching it again, and had a great message. However, I do think this weird way a lot of people feel about the movie is that it didn't feel gross, or abrupt in your face about puberty like a lot of digital media has been recently about this topic. Felt like what it should be, and was refreshing to see what it was.
You gotta have true anxiety to love this movie. I have a pretty bad anxiety disorder, but mine doesn’t manifest like it was shown in the movie. Riley’s anxiety seems to have more of a fight response, planning ahead and taking action against what she’s anxious about, even if it’s misguided. Meanwhile, I completely have a freeze response with my anxiety. I just shut down, and when it gets really bad, my muscles just tense up so much that I almost can’t move. My anxiety can actually get pretty severe, but it looks nothing like the way that anxiety is normally portrayed in media. It’s a bit of a spectrum.
Ehhh it felt like the emotions didnt fully understand “toxic optimism” is bad. Also we still havent seen enough from all first five emotions to feel convinced that “all emotions are equal”
Nah they'll butcher Wall-E or Ratatouille with sequels before they make something for their new films. Sprinkle in new Cars and Toy Story entries and you've got fun for the whole family and their wallets!

I'm 90% sure that when they made the first movie, they weren't going to make a sequel. But with the new owner of Disney playing it safe and going for sequels of old movies, this wasn't bad.
I personally feel like panic attacks are a great addition to movies because it makes the characters feel more human! For example in puss in boots the last wish puss is literally facing death in the face if you saw death and new he was coming for you would you just be like “oh no” or would you have a panic attack just like him? And in the Mario movie Mario is dealing with the same thing bowser is might actually kill him he’s a giant fire breathing monster destroying his town so it makes sense to me that there characters are having panic attacks instead of just being “the brave hero’s” it gives them more personality and people can relate to how they feel even if the situation is incredibly fictional and is not possible irl. I felt like the panic attack in inside out 2 was perfect because it can really hurt when you realized that you might have hurt a friend especially if your in Ryley’s situation. 6:35
The first Inside Out remains one of my all-time favorites, so I tried to keep my expectations from getting too unrealistic for the sequel. That said, I still give the sequel 7/10. I'm perhaps a bit more critical of this movie than the average person because I'm a writer and am thus a bit more sensitive to the ways they chose to set up the plot and tried to communicate the main messages and themes, and imo they didn't always hit the mark with that, not even close. But what carries this movie is that the underlying messages they did want to send are so strong and relatable on their own that you can almost get away with ignoring any perceived flaws from earlier if you want to, as said themes will still speak to your own experiences. Inside Out 2 falls frustratingly short of being great but there's still a lot to like about the film. My biggest fear isn't even that the Inside Out IP might get milked to death, but more so that it'll be because those involved with the future of this IP won't recognize the aforementioned mistakes and end up repeating them even harder.

Haven't watched the vid yet but I thought the film was lackluster. The movie seriously took place over the course of 2 days? It definitley wasn't attrocious, but felt very forgettable and low stakes.
Imagine if boredom was supposed to be another emotion but was too bored to operate it so she just pressed a button to get people to Kay in bed or sit on the couch etc.

I thought the first one was only just ok too (although I was delighted to hear Frank Oz and Dave Goelz cameoing). It just doesn't feel like Pixar is for everyone anymore though. I'm no longer comfortable going to see Pixar in the theaters, as a childless adult, because I don't think they want people like me as the audience anymore.
It really isn't anything to get worked up over at all. The first one is better in almost all aspects story wise and emotionally. I wish I waited for it to stream on Disney + because I wasted money and was slightly disappointed (it just is NOT as good as the first one)

I never seen Luca because the cal arts style never appealed to me and Turning Red had the same thing but was more cringe to watch. Soul, Coco and Inside Out were the best originals to come out and then Luca brought down all the others.

Thank you for saying how cars 2 is great. It’s a fun movie it is a great fun movie as it’s nothing overly complicated it’s a fun turn your brain off film. Also if anybody doesn’t like the music from it well they don’t have good music taste.

Haven't watched the vid yet but I thought the film was lackluster. The movie seriously took place over the course of 2 days? It definitley wasn't attrocious, but felt very forgettable and low stakes.

Honestly. I wasn't expecting for the second movie to be good like I never seen it. I never seen the second one, but should I honestly? I mean the first One my experience was OK, but it was decent. I mean, I don't want make people upset that I hated, but it was okay. Honestly. I haven't seen it in a while. I know my mother's saw the first one yesterday. The first movie I had such Members for this movie so many in fact, I watched it like 3 times at my house when I was teenager. And I thought it was okay. I would see this movie in the end of my school year. When i'm getting Ticket, my graduation.
And And I even took a school field trip to the zoo on a I think it was a city bus or like some type of transport bus for like school trips, field trips and stuff and they played The first movie wish honestly was fine. But anyways, should I watch the first one again? And should I watch the second one? Let me know

I thought the first one was only just ok too (although I was delighted to hear Frank Oz and Dave Goelz cameoing). It just doesn't feel like Pixar is for everyone anymore though. I'm no longer comfortable going to see Pixar in the theaters, as a childless adult, because I don't think they want people like me as the audience anymore.
It really isn't anything to get worked up over at all. The first one is better in almost all aspects story wise and emotionally. I wish I waited for it to stream on Disney + because I wasted money and was slightly disappointed (it just is NOT as good as the first one)

Honestly I thought that Riley's deep dark secret was going to be that she was lesbian and even though communities are more tolerant towards gays it still can be a personal struggle and a nice dig at Disney for so many false starts with the first gay character.
That’s what I’m thinking too. Either Lesbian❤️🧡🩷 or Bisexual🩷💜💙 They might have it be an even deeper dark secret in the 3rd movie or maybe a love emotion will be the cause of that but we’ll just have to see

The ending doesn’t work because all of the lessons taught in previous films contradict it.
toy story 4 literally destroyed the characters and their development and a guy legit made a 6 hour video explaining why and how toy story 4 is a terrible movie and sequel

Opinion rejected. inside out 2 was an amazing movie and it might be my new favorite disney movie
I never seen Luca because the cal arts style never appealed to me and Turning Red had the same thing but was more cringe to watch.
Soul, Coco and Inside Out were the best originals to come out and then Luca brought down all the others.
Toy Story 4 is on par with the other 3. It's an amazing movie
I would even go as far as saying its better than the first
