I watched Eunji singing this song and tried to search the original and some other renditions. .I find Eunji's rendition very touching. Even though I didn't understand the song, I feel the emotions which the song is implying. .And now I understand because of the translated lyrics.Thank you. I have the reason to shed tears now that I know the meaning of the song. .

Heaps late reply, but it is indeed Jo Su Mi (or Sumi Jo as she's known in Euro). This song was a headline before it was even released because she seldom sings Kpop, and then it turned out to be a such a nice song!
I discovered this song because of soprano -coloratura Sumi Jo ! She also sang with Rain she is amazing and for ever beautiful! She is an icon of the opera world with her unforgettable Queen of the night vocalizing!( but not only!)
I feel bad that China failed to protect Korea from Japanese. Ming Dynasty did, but not Qing Dynasty. Asia would be much different if China defeated Japan and Britain in 19th century.
