After watching a video about the cruelty of dairy I literally became vegan over night. The truth is hard to take as it means we can’t excuse ourselves anymore. But, that’s no reason not face the reality of what we’re supporting 😬That was 7 years ago and I’ve never looked back ❤️🐷🐔🐠🐮

When you freeze the sliced bananas, if you spread them out in the bag and lay it flat on a tray for a few hours in the freezer, you won’t end up with clumps of bananas. Once they’re semi-frozen you can shake them to the bottom of the bag as individual slices to finish freezing (flash freezing).
I have been following and eating a vegan diet for 7 years now I did it for my health. :) I have never looked back I feel so much more healthier. Good luck on your journey you can do this :). ♡

When I eat vegan I find I need supplements along side to feel as healthy as eating a normal diet.

@@tijay8507 also without zinc that's in meat I find I catch colds more so I have to have zinc supplements as well. As the zinc in vegetables is not enough for me.

A great sausage alternative is the Richmond meat free sausages (you honestly wont be able to tell) Iceland no bull burgers are fab and for chicken if you’re not sensitive to it (some people are) Quorn do a lot of good vegetarian/vegan meat substitutes. Hi Gemma, I turned vegetarian by my own choice when I was 3 years old, which was 50 years ago! My husband has been for about 10 years. It really is easy these days to be a vegetarian, so many alternatives out there. When I was a child it was the 70s and only thing on offer when eating out was an omelette!!

You can do it girl. I’ve been a vegetarian for 3 years now and at first it is super hard because of the habits you’ve had your whole life. But once you figure out what options there are, you’ll realize how many there really are. Now is the best time to be one, thanks to all the vegetarians who created all that we have now! You always do wonderful things when you put your mind to it. I believe in you, and I respect you so much for even speaking out about this! Good luck 🤍

I find the best way to eat healthier is genuinely to not pressure yourself! My partner and I have found that we’ve been ordering more oat milks with things and plant based options without thinking about it because we simply don’t pressure ourselves to eat only plant based :)

Please watch cowspiracy, earthlings and game changers ❤️ it will open your eyes to the whole animal based meat industry. Not trying to convert anyone into plant based but it’s so good to educate yourself about what’s actually going on. Best tip for the cauldron tofu is to press it for a good 20-30 minutes, otherwise it’ll be super soggy. I love your videos ❤️

I love extra firm tofu...you can basically cook it by seasoning as you wish, and then pan sauté. Almost like you do with the halloumi. It’s crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside.

Happy birthday! 🎈Love the new camera. Best way to make tofu is to FREEZE it first, thaw, squeeze excess water out (place between paper towel, put heavy plate on top) then marinate with your favourite sauce. This way the tofu acts like a sponge. 🌱❤️

I have been vegan 2 years this month. I did it for the animals. I enjoy food so much more, I feel lighter, my nails are long and my eczema has been the best it's been in 25 years. I have learnt so much about the planet and consumption a long the way and I've loved it! Good luck!

If your smoothie recipe calls for “a banana” you can just freeze them whole (peeled, of course) - they take literally minutes to defrost to the extent that you can break them up to put them in the blender, and they give a lovely, iced texture to any smoothie (slicing them is handy, of course, but they do stick together and you’re never sure how many slices to use)

Morrison’s have the best no chicken pieces in the freezer section! They are full of flavour and so easy to chuck in a curry or stir-fry etc 🙌
I've been vegetarian for a few years now and my favourite chicken of all time is Tesco's own chicken pieces omg they're SO realistic! Quorn chicken pieces are my least favourite 😬 also, Tesco's have had Richmond's veggie sausages recently and they too are the most realistic sausages I have found

Good for you Gemma, trying to cut out meat, I have for a while now, because I get so sad about what the animals have to go through, I feel like you and hate the thought of eating animals now, I haven't seen seaspiracy but I know I couldn't after you described it, I would be in tears, I am not a fan of tofu, but Asda do an amazing selection of meat free produce, as I'm sure other supermarkets are, they have come a long way to give a better selection, I want to say thank you for being a platform on this matter Gemma, there is so much that goes on that people are unaware of and if you can change one persons eating ways then you have done a marvellous job, your so sweet and caring
