I’m pretty interested in all in. A universe where all the heroes don’t have their main crutches does sound interesting. So Batman probably doesn’t have his money, Superman is lacking his moral foundation, and a Wonder Woman that isn’t in favor with the Greek gods. I also think the Superman energy thing might be a callback to the metaverse from doomsday clock.
Oh it totally is they even reference Doomsday Clock in their promo vid.

I'm all in.... As long as Absolute Wonder Woman is not bloodthirsty or has any characteristics of her new52 counterpart, I hate that so much.

She’s writing Birds of Prey right now, and while she was at Marvel she wrote a bunch of characters including a 50+ issue run of Captain Marvel

This was probably the most boring way to announce the new initiative. Honestly, I'm impressed by DC marketing!
Comic book industry marketing is depressing. Like can we talk about how embarrassing it is that Manga (and I LOVE manga) has broken into the general masses and zeitgeist far more than American comics have... IN AMERICA.

I feel this is a modern spin on an Earth 1 and Earth 2 JLA/JSA story (which is cool). Lots of titles ill be checking out.
I’m interested in the Absolute universe even if it sounds a lot like the current Ultimate universe. They learned their lesson. You can’t hard reboot the main universe or you’ll piss everyone off, you need to have a bonus universe on the side.
Buster Sword Wonder Woman by Kelly Thompson is probably the most exciting preview I’ve seen for a comic.
The Batman and Robin Year One is giving very much Robin Year One vibes so I hope it’s not just a re-tread of that especially using Two-Face again
I appreciate how it was explained. However, I don't get excited about new looks or initiatives.

In All Lois is definitely superwoman and they are going to show trinity’s brith.
I don't mind the Absolute Batman costume, yes he has a rectangle on his chest but the costume has a "less is more" kind of change to it, he even has trunks! (sincere cheer)
What ruins the look for me is how big he is. He looks like Brock Samson nothing against Brock, I love Venture bros. I just can't help but feel like i'd enjoy the costume more if Bruce's body looked more like Henchman 21 for the later seasons of Venture Bros.
Gary Fisher has muscles but also has 20 - 30% body fat. A Batman with that body type would be a real underdog!

The idea has potential, but the hints of the execution have me underwhelmed.
A 'bold new direction!', from most of the guys that did the 'bold, old direction!'

Why do they keep retconning Divk Grayson’s original costume back into continuity? It’s one of the few good moves they’ve made in DC in recent years, retconning it out of existence.
This has the vague whiff of Earth-2 from the New 52 on it.
I'm honestly disappointed that it looks like after Absolute Power it's back to business as usual with the league and trinity spearheading everything. I was really sold on Dawn of DC on the promise that with the Titans stepping up as the premier superhero team we'd really start to see legacy heroes at the forefront of DC. Of course I never expected the Trinity and league to leave entirely, but for the Titans and characters like Nightwing to be pushed more in marketing and in universe become the leaders and center of the hero world for... longer than this.
This alone makes me think DC isn't really taking advantage of an ultimate style absolute universe. I like the concept and I think this is what DC should have done way back with the New 52 (should've just used that to definitively reintroduce the multiverse while bringing new labels like wildstorm into the fold and dangerous characters like Watchmen then launched the new 52 comics like as the "52 new universes of the new multiverse" to explore new ideas and takes (like the new Earth-2) without rebooting the main universe in the most messy way possible). But I'm not entirely excited in once again every other ongoing book to be Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, and the trinity or JLA. Like it seemed to me the absolute universe would be a perfect time to slow down on those characters in the main universe and keep pushing the Titans and other heroes and new heroes while having really interesting ABSOLUTE books as jumping on points for new takes on the popular familiar trinity and justice league. It just feels like yet again DC is refusing to or scared of growing past the same set of characters and stories.
*That Darkseid promise is hype though. I hope they live up to it. It's always been weird how DC has gone back and forth on handling Darkseid and the new gods and all the Jack kirby's fourth world.*
Didnt we did this with nu52 earth2? Darkseid screws up two realities. Prime becomes nu52 and earth 2 a brand new version. Here they are at zero and not trusted. Also some people gonna to earth2 to prine and vica versa. Like Huntress and PG
Still no sign of any Aquaman ongoing. It has been 4 years now. His expanded family has still not returned. I am getting tired of DC doing my man dirty like this.

Honestly I just can’t find myself getting very excited right now. Part of what made Marvel’s Ultimate Universe (2024) so exciting for me is I have been pretty dissatisfied with Marvel stuff lately in comics and movies. So now I have new marvel comics to read! But I’m honestly pretty content with DC comics rn, especially with the big three (I like Williamson’s Superman, I’m reading King’s WW in trades, and I don’t love mainline Batman but literally half of DC’s comics are Batman related so it’s fine), so with that in mind it’s hard to be hyped over a new universe that has only confirmed three new takes on characters that I feel I read enough of already. I’m incredibly excited to hear Mora is doing art for Superman though!

The fact it's my favorite batman writer I'm cautiously optimistic although when they said that this universe will be focused on the darkness energy will make them underdogs, made me wonder if batman's big hurdle is going to be him being broke

I'm sorrowful that I missed this stream. 😭
I've been following all the Absolute Universe leaks/news closely because it's a big thing happening in comics, but it has been connected to Scott Snyder since day one, so I was never excited for it. And Roid Rage Bruce and Buster Sword Diana don't merely not appeal to me but actively repell me, so I'm quite certain I'll never buy any book set in this universe. Also, I dislike their brand-confusing use of Absolute (which couldn't be farther from their existing Absolute Editions) almost as much as when they reused Earth One for a completely different universe, which in turn grated on me about as much as Marvel's reuse of the Ultimate branding is now.
And I liked the first issue of Robin Lives with the major exception of the lack of proper inking. It doesn't even look penciled but like unfinished distinctly digital art, which doesn't fit the era at all (unlike the mostly accurate attempt at authentic coloring). The extra thick unrefined lines at times on characters are slightly meh but at least stylish. However, the extra thin unrefined lines at times on environments are severely meh, to put it mildly.
Oh, and Steampunk Manga Iron Man vs. Cyberpunk Manga Iron Monger is a great visual, but within an Earth-616 context, it makes me cringe.

I have to say I'm really disappointed about the wording and description of the Green Lantern Dark story. I've been waiting since it was announced back in January and the idea of a post- apocalyptic world where a remaining beacon of hope is also dealing with her own troubles and perhaps holding true to what she is supposed to represent. I mean this could have been a really awesome, violent, dark fantasy epic and now...im starting to get the vibe its a hokey surface level story for kids.... 😐 "shes grumpy" "get out of bed" wtf?? could of been fist of north star or berserk but i guess..not smh

No, I don't think this latest promotion from DC holds a lot of appeal for me because they are too much into shaking things up not for artistic purposes, but commercial ones and it becomes pretty transparent after awhile. But I guess a buzz about new comics is a good thing after all and I will look forward to hearing your reviews of the new program once you've sampled it. Meanwhile, the channel needs more Lois! ❤
If Lois ends up being Superwoman we'll definitely get much more Lois lol. I'm definitely intrigued it feels like a big swing to me, and I'm always down to give those a try.

Tbh I'm just going to do what I always have, collect stuff from 10-30 years ago that people still rate really highly and not care about the new releases.

Only time will tell.
But I do want to highlight that the creators are mostly Marvel people jumping ship. I think that what the Big 2 need is more new voices instead of doing rethreads of the same 5 talent they constantly use for the big stuff. Because of that, it's hard to get excited.
I respect Scott Snyder's work but was he the best choice for a new take on Batman. That tells me more about being shorthanded more than anything

Mark my words, this is just going to be Snyderverse 2.0. DC saw how many people wanted grimdark versions of the characters with no interest in the lore, and decided to make a whole imprint to get their money. Batman with no Alfred, mansion, or money? Superman with no fortress or family? WW with no island or amazons? It’s deadass the “gimme a pizza with nothin! Nothing??” meme.
Absolute DC is gonna absolutely suck. This flop wont even be legendary. It'll just be silently forgotten about in a year.
My problem with DC All In is the same problem I had with DC Metal, and Future State, and Dawn of DC, and The New 52, and Rebirth (okay, not Rebirth so much--that did give us Priest writing DEATHSTROKE), and DC You and Final Crisis and Infinite Crisis and all the 'initiatives' that DC has launched since the Age of DiDio...we're getting a constant stream of 'everything you know is about to CHANGE' that triggers a brief spike in sales followed by that spike dying out and the editors looking for the next Big Boost. It's like they keep breaking the same vase over and over again, promising us it'll be put back together better than new ('This time we'll be using Gorilla Glue!'). I'm tired of it, and in the light of them pretty much destroying a really nuanced and engaging character to usher in this newest initiative makes me soured on it from the start. And given this particular initiative is going to play up a New Totally Edgelord Rebooted Universe makes me more sad.
Here's an idea--how about we just, you know, make GOOD STORIES with good creative teams and let them breathe for a while before the next initiative comes rolling up?
(That being said--I am really intrigued to see what they're going to hand over to Al Ewing....)

"All In" sounds very.... "Meh". Comes across as DC trying to (once again) catch-up to Marvel by speed running but lack the understanding why something like Ultimate Marvel actually works.
