    Good presentation, thank you
    What is rarely mentioned is SYNERGY, source-cable--amp-cable-speakers
    Cheap cables can have better synergy than expensive ones, the only question is whether you will pay 50 times the price for only 5% improvement
    Start with cheap cables and go step by step towards better cable, if you can borrow better cables, borrow and try, until you get a sound you like, don't waste money on something you haven't heard in your system, "NICE CABLE" is NOT better cable

      Cables do not matter at all. A $6 monoprice cable performs as good as a $18k nordost cable. It sounds EXACTLY the same! That's straight science for you. If you think otherwise get me scientific data. You'll find none.

    My opinion as a pro musician with hifi experience. Any cable is a filter. A signal cannot come out better it went in a cables. Parameters are used to give a cable an own sound. You can play with that to fine tune your equipment.
    Sometimes a little more high will give you the best result at the end. Sometimes the mid and sometimes the low tones.
    Also your room acoustics is doing something. It's all about the total/final match. A lot of people are not able to hear theses differences, be happy! I also build a few cables with Belden, Canare and Mogami. They do their work pretty good. By the way, if a cable sounds different is that better? And what is better. You also need a rather expensive (read very good) hifi system do hear these differences. Lets say 10.000-20.000 dollar/euro. Off course salesmen make a lot of money selling expensive cables. Explain to me what "wonder" material can be inside a cable. Nothing! Always use your own ears and listen blind. Let someone else change cables while your listening. Don't forget it is a macho mann world. Yes, I am able to that differences. Congrats. Stay with both feet on the ground. Rember, the soundquality of records can give many differences. A lot of salesmen hate me, because I spoil their income. But I don't care and don't ly. Finally, I know a reviewer very well. He once had the Walhalla interconnect. His system sounded fantastic. Are we listening to all Walhalla cables now? The sound is great! No I build all cables by myself, he said. He just found out what is inside famous cables and makes his own copy's. I have the same now. I pay him 100 dollar/euro for an interconnect and a little more for the speaker cables. I don't even wanna know what's inside. Have fun.

    I changed the RCA plugs of my Cardas 33AWG tonearm cable from Neutrik NYS373(gold plated brass) to Furutech FP126(G) (gold plated pure copper center plong/gold plated brass ground). FP126(G) sounds more transparent than the NYS373. Then, from FP126(G) to AQ king cobra RCA plugs (silver ("hanging") plated pure copper). The AQ king cobra RCA plugs give best transparent sound I ever tried. I also tried Blue Jean LC-1 cables with AQ king cobra RCA jacks and they sound so good and well balanced but not as transparent as AQ Water. As per your advice, I will try the Mogami later.

    After trying some more expensive cables (RCA and speaker) mostly TQ Ultra Black line up, I have the exact same experience. Pro cables are genuinely neutral in their delivery they portray how your components sound. The more expensive cables use different allows and constructions, multi strands or different exotic materials that increase conductivity etc and different isolators to just give some additional colour in detail, or more pronounced bass etc. I actually like that in my desktop system because you are sitting very close to the speakers and you benefit from every bit of extra soundstage, because there is limited room interactions. In my living room (main system), however I prefer the “Pro” cables because otherwise it imbalances my already balanced system. So with everything it really depends. Put your money in components and clean power supply components first. Upgraded power supply in my experience reduces noise and not so much sound. It is a well upgrade of the system. I use also pro for that, Furutech The Empire.

    I used to use the Blue Jeans but now switched over to QED Performance Audio 40i. The difference was obvious enough on my Adam Tensor Delta Speakers using hegel hd30 dac to micromega as-400 amp. The QED is more open & detailed on top end and it was obvious enough for me. Although I think lot of ppl might prefer the smoother sound of Blue Jeans.

    The "change in sound" of each of these cables is related to their impedance. The end result between cable A and cable B depends on the impedance of the send / receive interfaces + the cable. Buying an expensive cable doesn't necessarily translates into a better sound. In the HiFi world, there is often placebo effect... So trust your ears and choose what you like, not necessarily what the seller/dealer wants to sell you! Don't be fooled by "High Speed", "3D" and all other meaningless words!

    Now if you wish to pay a bit extra for a bit more fancy connectors, thats all fine.

    It's really pretty simple, "High Quality" cables 'can possibly' make a difference if all the other system connection variables are allowing your system components to operate at High levels. How much money you've spent doesn't mean sh%t if what you've connected to doesn't have the Synergy to go beyond being a random collection of entertainment equipment.

    • @tuntitommosille
      @tuntitommosille 4 года назад

      There is no measurable nor audible difference between good standard quality cables and the high end cables that manufacturers are pushing to clueless buyers. Any difference that people claim to hear between them is purely down to expectation bias and wouldn't manifest in a properly conducted blind listening test. Same goes for most other components such as DACs and amplifiers. The only parts of a system which make an audible difference are headphones/speakers and room acoustics.

    • @triumphlover7455
      @triumphlover7455 4 года назад

      Tunti Turpaan 110% agree with you on expectation bias. It's one of the prominent intangibles that drives the audiophile industry. To say though that only speakers and room acoustics affect sound, you're selling yourself short. It all starts at the electrical panel. Dirty power, dirty sound. All components in the "chain" make a difference, even cables. Heck you can even hear the startling difference playing a low res MP3 file vs an audiophile hi res file off a phone speaker! Let's be clear, different can mean better, but can also just mean different. That's the fun in this hobby, there is no absolute. There is only what sounds good to you and what your wallet can stand.

    I saw something on another channel and I think he boiled it down to 2 key points. A cable can't add anything to the signal (unless it causes equipment to start oscillating). A cable can only take something away be it highs or lows.
    In y opinion you want reasonably low inductance and capacitance. You want low resistance and that requires very good quality copper. The connectors should grip the equipment very well and the material should be tarnish free.

    Cables are very subjective, find a good dealer that will let you listen to or borrow a variety of cables and let your ears do the buying. Don't forget that the equipment the cables are plugged into has a big influence on the sound of the cable regardless of the cost of that cable. Just because a cable is expensive doesn't mean its the right cable for your system. 😃

    Hi Tharbamar, I bought a Mogami W2964. It sound neutral, witha good bass prominence. Buttoo much soundstage narrowing, less holography than Tasker RG59 Bu (1€/m) and VDH the wave (19€/m) or QED Performance. Which Mogami/canare digital one that offering a big, deep and holographyc soundstage, do you suggest?

    Back in the day... I followed the same principle of just trying/buying studio/pro grade belden cables and interconnects...and although ...like all curious hifi people I have tried, explored, borrowed and listened to other much more expensive hifi brands..and while I will say they did subtly influence and change the sound signature and tone etc, etc, but I always felt the beldens were always just right for me and my systems.
    After all it's all personal and subjective really....and luckily it seems I have cheaper tastes LOL...as even speaker cable I prefer ofc cables than these silver or silvered hybrids.
    That said.... I would have still bought the more expensive cables...if they had sounded better!

      Thank you! Viborg (VR109 and VR109G, which are their cheapest available in Europe) are twice as expensive (80 to 85 eur=usd) compared to Neutrik Profi (40 eur=usd) and cost as much as Klei Harmony copper and Harmony silver (80 and 100 eur=usd) which are supposed to be reference besides Klei Harmony Pure22 (140 eur=usd). Dilemmas, dilemmas... Bulk wires (most popular from Mogami, Canare, ...) are cheap, connectors expensive... I hoped Neutrik Profi would be a perfect compromise between price and SQ. BTW, I watched you Focal Sopra 2 review many times, because of my small room I abandoned my hopes of them and opted for old Marantz LS-85. Your channel saves money and bring (SQ) happiness.

    Video these days is always digital. So no the cable does not make any difference in image or audio quality. Same with balanced Quad Neglex / Quad Star cables. Their design guarantees signal integrity, so what you are paying for is the quality (durability / flexibility) of the cable.
    With analog signals like RCA, shielding quality matters. The woven shield of the Canare should outperform pretty much anything else. If your cable is beeing moved pick a microphone cable (it has an extra layer of protection to not pick up sound from beeing moved around).
    Avoid analog or unbalanced options till the last meter if possible. I would recommend a good dac with balanced analog out using Star Quad cables. Everything is mastered digitally these days anyway. With Qobuz, Apple Music or Amazon Music, you can go lossless right into your speaker without RMI.
    People who are all about silver cables or solder are just audiofools. Higher electrical conductivity just means less resistance you will get the same effect with a slightly thicker copper cable. The signal is identical.
    Don't be fools. Make your own cables. Use high quality components (no silver bs).
