People write in criticizing you, I agree safety is very important, But painting isn’t. I enjoy how you always USE the right tools to make it so much easier, Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
This is my absolute favorite video. I have NEVER had a project on my 1978 F150 go as expected. As a lawyer by trade, I don’t have any experience or knowledge so I am blindly learning by trial and error. Now I know that it happens to even knowledgeable guys.
In 35 years that I have worked on cars I have never found a solution to prevent uneven front tire wear on any 1/2 ton and up Ford truck. New steering and suspension components and an alignment only delay the inevitable. 🥴 Good info on the new master cylinder, if you don't bleed it beforehand the pedal will never firm up. Subscribers are nice but it's the views that really count. 👍 Stay safe guys. -Glen
Twin I beam ford trucks.. really need to have the toe in measured to the inside of the tires at 4:30 and 7:30 give or take.. so you can create just a slight toe in.. but this has to be done on ball bearing wheel alignment turn tables to get a no friction adjustment of usually 1/16 toe in.. this is with good bushings. good steering linkage , and no loose rivets in the brackets that mount the inner I beam brackets to the crossmember..
Ran into the same brake line issue when converting my 68 to power disc brakes as well. I ended up just making my own lines which we all know was way to time consuming but it worked
Been watching some of your videos recently since I've been trying to restore a '70 Ford F250. Great videos, and all have been very helpful to not only explain how to, but also show it well. Finally hit the old subscribe button...sorry it took me a few months to do so!
muchas gracias for another wonderful video on my 69 f250 I bought the stainless steel Inline tube kit as well funny thing the lines from the master cylinder did not line up with the old lines that I had that was maybe only two lines out of the whole kit that were actually the same.
I always lean towards making my own with Nicopp, especially on a daily. Been using it since the 80's, it's easy to work with and side steps issues like you are having now.
@@AutoRestoMod Oh I get it, I'm doing a disk brake conversion and general brake system refurb on a buddies 46 Stylemaster and it's become more complex than it should be. Especially with the current situation. Though technically speaking, I am to blame I was the bright spark the said, 'hey, why don't you do a disk conversion, it will be better!'
I feel your pain with the brake lines and master cylinders. Some f100 brake lines at the master cylinder come out the left side of it and then some on the right. Proportioning valves can be found on the steering gear box, under the steering box, on the driver side frame rail and some on the rear of the front engine crossmember above the pitman arm. I got a 67 with 75-79 brake parts so I just did my home work and ordered a kit that I knew plumbed in to the Proportioning valve mounted for the crossmember. Big headache and I had to also modify the rear over the axle brake line due to Ford also changing the track width for the rear axle on 73-79 f100's.
It kills me that people have nothing better to add other than ridicule you about safety this and safety that. They can go eat paint chips for crying out loud. Cool to see the colonel getting some upgrades! Hope I can get over there soon.
Advice needed. I have a 68 F100 that I think has had a 73-79 disk brake upgrade on the front. The brakes have not worked correctly, since I bought the truck, pedal to the floor before the truck stops,. Where might the problem reside? I had a shop bleed and service the system and they couldn't find anything wrong, could it be the 73-79 parts that were used on the upgrade. Thanks in advance.
Yeah, I don't know why Ford did stupid shit like that. My gas cap wasn't sealing due to age. Do you think a parts store has a gas cap for a '68 Torino? Nope, but they can get one for a '69. Why wouldn't they be the same? Ford only did cosmetic shit between the 2. But noooo, the '69 doesn't go in deep enough to lock, so I pulled the rubber and put it on my '68 cap. Seals great now.

Yep. We try and often show the mistakes, dad always said, "if you work hard enough, you are going to screw up."

I'll be working on my 70 F-250 soon. Your videos do help. Thank you.
Glad to help
One of the first repairs my dad had me help him with was replacing master cylinder and pumping the brakes. Thanks for the memories. 👍

No worries, welcome aboard!
Keep up the good work currently doing the same thing to my 67 F-100 be sure to put down a lot of parts list thank you

Well, the issues were my over thinking...😆

It can give you a facial tic...
Well put together vlog!
Thank you!!
I hate it when that happens... Ordering new lines for my 74, race ya😁
Stay well my friends.
Done...you?

We are waiting. We would love to see you. We got the Ranchero in its spot for the floor pans.
Jeff Try finding stuff for a 67 Ford f-100, a lot of their parts are one year only and some are not repoped.
Yep. Ford did some sketchy stuff on a lot of the cars for 1967.
Could you do a series on tools you have found useful - similar to TheFabForum's Its Friday fool and you need this tool?
We have that in the works...weirdly, for this next week. You been spying on me?!😆

Ours is working great and is using the same brake set up. I would look at the master cylinder as a possible culprit.
Can I bleed them successfully without bench bleeding the master? I have stock power brake master and booster on a crown Vic swapped f100
Yes, it will take longer though.
Just remember that only the ones that do something, are the ones that make mistakes. Thank you.
I must be doing a A LOT of something...😆
Jeff, you know they make 100 different brake lines, why didn't you just bend some new lines like you did a few episodes ago....I know it's a pain....
I think you answered your own question...
