      @TinyBoatConcerts 2 года назад +33

@@itsmepogchamp7068 Bridge for sure man. The bridge single coil always sounds weak to me, so slapping a humbucker in there makes it a much more versatile guitar. The neck and middle have that nice soft or twangy sound, and the bridge is chunky for punk or rock stuff. It's a great setup and it's the guitar I play the most even though I've spent more money on guitars since then. I pick close to the bridge and I never hit the volume knob. it's all mahogany so it looks nice asf. No messed up fret ends. I got the thing for 600 dollars from my local guitar center. But oh, the strat is bang for your 670-1000 bucks. The guitar doesn't even do the singing, the amp does most of the work there aside from the skills of the player

For me it's always been the Privilege of owning a Fender Stratocaster. I started playing back in '68 and have played a ton of them. The problem was always they were pretty pricey, which left me SOL.
I finally got a Squire Strat (white body, pickguard, pickup covers and knobs and a maple fingerboard; I have always loved that look)! Clapton, Hendrix, Trower, etc. have rocked that same look.
So if you are blessed enough to own your own Strat, say Thank You Lord. For those of us who hope to say as much for ourselves, I may not ever get one but hearing one in capable hands is cool.

The switching placement is both a plus for convenience or minus for accidental changes, just depends on how you look at it. The hum can be (sort of) mitigated by much better shielding and choice of effects on your signal chain. As for the bridge sounding too thin... There isn't much of a fix. Pedals cant hide it all. Ceramic bridge pickup is the way to go. If you pair them with the alnicos in the bridge in neck it's a real good variety but also compressor pedals help a ton as well as boosters with light gain stages. There are ways to make up for a strats short comings but also a humbucking pick up from a les Paul is also great too.

Hey ! I love tout videos ! They are entertaining and you're a very good payer ! I noticed you always have amazing tone as well (example : this video and many more). Idea for the future : could you show your rig and how you manage to have such a good tone ?

You should try dialling down the tone knob of the bridge pick up a little, it really helps cutting out those high ends.

I got a Seymour Duncan hot stack for my bridge and it gave me a much more full bridge tone, and it got rid of the hum, very much recommend

My strats neck was modded with a Seymour duncan single coil humbucker so it can get loud. Also the plug in socket was improved so no more buzz. God bless luthiers ❤

Yeah that's why I upgraded the bridge pick up to a humbucker to both get rid of the hum and to amplify the sound of the bridge pickup

I was a strat guy until I got my Schecter PT Special and put a single coil sized humbucker in the bridge along with a couple other mods, now my go to over my Fender Player Strat.

The icepick bridge pickup sound is why I have a tone knob wired to my bridge pickup. I round off a little bit of that high end taking the tone knob down to just 8 or lower if I want the buttery and nasally tone.

One thing I really don’t like about my strat is the volume knob, I always hit it and turn it down when I play

Position the toggle switch to select both the middle and bridge pickups. Then turn the bridge tone down to zero or just under 2. The other tone set anywhere between 3 to 5. It gives a great snarling p90 tone.

Strats are actually supposed to have some hum. Like others said a noisegate or even compression will help alot. The other thing is make sure you’re using a decent cable too. Also, if you put some shielding under the pickups, that will help tame it some. Some ppl will say its a waste of time but it actually does work. All in all, strats are some of the best guitars on the market for sure.

if the strat is purpendicular/at a right angle, to the amp the hum disappears.
Also clean power and hq cables help

Might i suggest something for the hum, install a dummy coil in parallel or in series with your strat pickups. It's actually something Stevie had in his guitar to cancel the noise, and suhr guitars have a similar system

Raise the height of your bridge pickup. It sounds thin from factory settings. Raise it 3-5 mm and enjoy the added mid boost

I think a Jimmie Vaughn, or new player series will help with your bridge pickup as they have a dedicated tone control, the deluxe player offers some control over bridge pickup as well, maybe that’s why I like all 3

Leo hit on something that was unique and no one else has been able to do it quite like he did more than 50 years ago so I got to say I love the strat and the telecaster.. they both have unique challenge that you can only get with those guitars… that being said, Gibson has its own sound all together… it’s good to have them all because that way you can stretch out your sound
