When I thought this was only about a supercar v8 on a dyno, I had no interest, but when I saw the new thumbnail, my interest went from 0 to 10! I could look at that Lotus GT1 chassis all day. And the Porsche engine was also interesting. Great video!
Do more of these tours and technical chats… awesome
Brilliant stuff, lovely to break things up with this style of content and excited to film the next episode of the RS001 series! 😁
Really enjoying these vids, congratulations 👍
Me relating to these car vids. "That engine looks just like a whole sci-fi city from the Bladerunner movie in miniature. I can see where all the flying cars fly into port." Oh to be in my head.
Great stuff keep doing this Dave
That one-piece cylinder and head, a very skilled machinist did that!
Interesting video
Wow I had no idea that those Porsche engines where like that very interesting, great to watch and good to see more , 👍
Thanks 👍
Wow fantastic video
Brilliant stuff! Thoroughly enjoyed 👍🏼
That makes me want to build my own dyno cell 😎👍
Stuff legends are made of! X tex and EPS motorsport. It’s would be a dream for gents to run your oil rag over my 6.0liter M119
Top of the game you lads !
Is that 6.0 M119 of a R129 SL60 or W124 E60 ? Sounds rare and very spicy 👍🏻
@@hristohristov8787 it’s 500E base. Had custom pitons made, machined down the counter weights, steel liners, more aggressive cams than E60 and converted from hydraulic to tappet shims. I think it was ten days work to do the valve clearance and DTI timing cams. Up and running know, so next stop is a tune. I understand these gents, resorted and maintained a Sauber C9
@bernardwarr4187 That sounds amazing and the same time a lot of work, well done 👏 The engine after a proper tune will definitely sounds and performs on another level. Best of luck to you sir and a happy new year
Two litres of fuel less per lap is a very useful weight saving. Just shows how much better modern engine management is than the fairly primitive systems available even to factory teams in the 1980’s.
Wonderful
Nice Dave. Loved that 👍🏻
Love what xtec do over there. When you two were sat next to the Lotus, was that an Aston LMP1 2 liter?!
And that VRH35 on the shelf😮😮
Is this going to race at peter auto?
Those Lotus damper connectors are quite elaborate. Would like to know why they are quite so tall, seems unnecessary. And why would a normal pushrod not work in this chassis?
Are you listening for knock thru the headphones while dyno tuning or just ear protection?
Knock for sure....
