      @@DrkStmpunkr It's funny how people get acrimonious about abortion being a sin while Christian conservatives--especially rich and powerful Christian conservatives--live lives packed to the brim with sin and completely against the teachings of the New Testament. Lives full of boastfulness, pride, greed, and disdain for the misfortunate--those who Jesus cared for the most. Ignore the sins that are inconvenient to your worldview, demonize the ones that aren't, it's the conservative way. Ignore your own sins and criticize those who are downtrodden by society. Forgetting everything you said about the sanctity of life the moment the child is born also seems to be the convenient route I see a lot of the time. In case you've forgotten, the Pharisees were criticized heavily by Jesus for the same behavior you see glamorized by conservative Christians everywhere, and the church has yet again become a place of profit, just waiting for its tables to be overturned by an angry God. Practice what you preach.

  • @flyingphoenix113

    Well, you're half right, Sam. The 917s were regulated under group 4 FIA regs (unlike the 910, 908, and 907 under group 5), but, in 1969, the category was changed from "sportscars" to "sportscar prototypes." It was a wording change meant to address the dominance of the MK1 GT40s in 67, 68, and 69. It meant that Porsche DID have to build 25 917s (where, previously, a manufacturer was supposed to build 50 cars), but that, unlike the GT40, the 917 never had to be road legal. There have been some subsequent road legal conversions that have exploited legal loopholes, but, unlike the GT40, the 917 was never road legal.

The best drivers could exit slower corners with the tires spinning and just explode into the distance when traction was attained. They were a totally dominant race car. And that sound...sort of precise, hollow and light at low revs changing to a great raucous Brrraaaaappp at transitions, and at speed, well, it just sounded like the biggest baddest giant Gorilla of a Porsche it truly was.

    • @donald626
      @donald626 4 года назад

      There are a few companies that built replicas, that one might be from RCR, but only the kit will come, the other part is in your hand ;)

      It says in the description it’s a kraftwerk car, which are made in Australia and I don’t think they have a website. These cars are far, far closer to original spec than RCR cars.

      Flat 12s aren't really built anymore. Also, as he said, a replica engine, or even real one, would cost millions.

      @@Ben-cx5qp when metal 3D printing becomes better and more ubiquitous, we will have an explosion of cheaper vintage race car replicas, engines and transmissions included. Just give it some time.

    The thing that's so beautiful about these things is how fucking low to the ground they are. They're so beautifully minimalist and taut in their design. Just look at how those front wheel wells shrug up to the cabin. IMO this car is the most aggressive, exquisite and beautiful car of all time.

    I LOVE 917's, and have ever since I watched Lemans as a 10 year old. I even tracked down Kraftwerks in Wood End Australia many years ago and travelled 3 hours to take a look and have a chat to the team there. There's also a guy in regional Victoria here that build a Flat 12 duplicate engine from scratch I'm told. What a package that would have been. I was also the head drivetrain tech for the Joss supercar here in us, before I got into the TV game. Keep up the good work Seen Through Glass, it would be great to collaborate sometime, I've stepped out of television and I'm just making the transition to RUclips as we speak. :-)

    More like a properly edited TV Show than ‚just‘ a RUclipsr‘s videos like you get from others.
    Can‘t get the fact you haven‘t got 700k followers at least!
    Just keep doing what you are doing. There is a sence in every video that you love what you do. Not just video after video for the money. 👌🏻
