So sorry for your recent loss, James. I would have to say that this car is a genius purchase. Why? Because in a time of stress and sadness, it gives you pleasure. And, for us motoring enthusiasts, having a car of this type really lifts the spirits each time you drive it. So do just that, and enjoy yourself.
I've said something similar. Not sure what's happened, but have an idea. And it's up to James how much he wants to share, so I'm not going to look But I hope he sees the love in these comments

That car was fun to drive on twisty little B roads as well as being a genuinely relaxing cruiser on the motorway. It did put a smile on my face every time I drove it and I like to think that she looked down and approved of my choice.
My mother had an Alfa 156 in 2001 and passed away in 2010 and was sold on I turned 17 last year and bought a 159 in red too Lovely machine and I’m sure everyone says it about there first car but I’m never selling it!
@@kebabaluba I had the later 2.0 diesel which had 170 bhp and 259 lbs/ft of torque. I do love the interior of the 159 and I did like driving that car on the motorway, as everybody noticed the six lights and the colour and moved over, if only to see what car it was.
Don’t underestimate what you do for the people that watch your channel. I’ve been hesitating for years about buying a dream car and after watching your videos it gave me the confidence to do what made me happy. Congratulations on fulfilling your dream! I did exactly the same thing 5 years ago (1998 Chimaera 500), and I still get that very feeling every time I get into it! To be brutally honest, every time I pick up the keys and go to the garage I get SOOO excited in apprehension of starting that engine that I have to first return to the house before actually setting off in order to prevent early forced stops... And no, it's not age related 😂

Best wishes for the future and if I am correct in assuming that you've lost a close relative, well, there isn't any easy remarks that I could make that will help, but having travelled that road myself I can say that the recovery process is slow, don't expect anything less, allow yourself to grieve but don't stop doing all the important things like looking after yourself and those who are left, and speaking selfishly, please don't stop making the videos. Agree with the colour - my Maserati GranTurismo was in exactly the same rare Blu Mediterraneo with Crème leather interior. It was the only colour I was prepared to have as all the other models were black or grey. For what it’s worth absolutely love the content and your presentation on camera
Well I guess I should add a comment in support after that intro. My father passed away at the start of June after losing him over recent years to dementia. A larger than life character (he would have appreciated your shirts and had several hundred offenders himself), pillar of the community and lover of many fine cars throughout his life. In my childhood I was fortunate enough to be driven by him to and from school in a turbo R so appreciated your content on that was surprisingly important to me on low days. I’ve probably been following your content around as long as I’ve been grieving losing him to dementia and with the funeral last month for the first time I’ve started getting back on top of life emotionally. I suppose the best way to put it is I’ve truly appreciated having your content along the way. In fact you have inspired my first passion car purchase after my trusty golf pf 9 years of an xkr which I am looking to pick up next month. Grieving is a strange process and does strange things to people and on some days just the distraction of your content was good enough to keep me from spiralling. Anyway all the best mate, love the content and I hope you’re pulling through whatever you are going through.
You’re one of the few reviewers who can do lighthearted without being annoying, and can do serious without being boring. Thanks for everything you do and sorry for your loss. We appreciate all the work you put in to make the channel happen in addition to having a personal life. …Oh and I hope you try talking to some owners, or using one for a period of time before you knock the PT cruiser. You might be surprised!
Thank you for every video out of the 1300. I love almost all of them! Sorry for your loss James, but keep going. You have all my respect and compassion.
7:30 am Sunday. Sitting here for the 8th month this year now post surgery so laughed at your initial comments. I’ve enjoyed not only your content but also the way you present it. So Thank You(even I get sick of watching a screen eventually) for being fun as well as informative. In your own life my sympathies and hope you muddle on through the best you can. Eventually the memories become a blessing. Cheers, Stephen.
That's an impressive set of history folders! So hard to come by these days as dealers seem to be unwilling to share these due to "data protection". Lovely looking Masa!
A large stack of receipts says to me "lemon car" or "dumb owner", usually both. I've bought cars with a stack of history, and others with nothing. Never noticed any difference in the work required to keep them on the road after purchase.
What a beautiful car. I know your Ferraris are better in every measurable way, but this is the one I truly envy. If ever a car embodied the incalculable magnetism of Italian cars, it's this. It's special, it makes you feel good, and that's all that matters. It's good to hear that you're bearing up okay after your recent loss. Keep doing what you do James.
Lovely remarks in the opening. We all have painful moments in our lives, but for each of us those feelings are uniquely our own. Sharing a glimpse of your pain was touching. Best wishes to you and your family. I do look forward to your report on actually using your new grand tourer for what that name implies.
The moment I saw the blurred silhouette, I knew. Great choice! I absolutely adore my Gransport, an absolute stonker of a car, fantastic fun yet practical enough, low key enough yet special to drive every time. Best of all, reliable and simple enough to fix most things easily, cheap and affordable enough to afford to replace or fix any major items. The common adage, a gentleman's ferrari, is very apt. Few people will be disappointed by a Gransport (unless they really just have a need to scratch the Ferrari itch)
My dads been an avid petrolhead all his life. 944 turbo, delta integrale, boxster s, original focus rs, original minis, original golf gti. However, even though he currently owns a slightly modified gr yaris, he has had a 3200gt for about 15 years and WILL NOT part ways with it. Its been a financial burden, but he has always said it gives him this sense of 'fizz' more than any other car in the world. I really see where he comes from, Maseratis are truelly special.
James, absolutely love your new purchase, especially as I am the owner of a Coupé GT manual from the same year. I think the Gransport looks even better with those rims and the surfboards. You are absolutely right that it’s a flawed car, but it does have many redeeming features. Looking forward to plenty of videos on it! PS. Condolences for your loss.
Sorry for your loss J, you do help people. I spend so much time alone away from home with work, your videos (along with others) keep me sane, providing both informative and entertaining content. Thank you As a 4200 (on GS springs) owner, once the Maserati bug bites ....
Love your videos and your comment about inclusivity and the videos being for everyone was important and very well said. Thinking of you and thanks for all the joy youve bought into all our lives with your videos. Much love xx
This car is definitely an emotional purchase, and looking at it I’m not disappointed by the emotions it makes me feel. Can’t wait for the next video of it!
When I saw the second history file come out the boot I nodded that's the one whilst a big smile came over my face. The fact that it had managed that milage meant that it hadn't been off the road for years through issues and the massive service history tells us why. I'm looking forward to the road trip, this looks like it's a great buy.
Sorry to hear of your loss James and I hope all is well with you and yours. Keep up the great work on the videos. I dont catch them all but I enjoy them when I do and its clear you enjoy making them
You’ve aided my depression this past year so much just constantly being able to put a smile on my face and I get so excited when you review another car that I’ve always weirdly been interested in and all the quirky and wonderful things of the automotive world. You and everyone here are genuinely some of the most special and down to earth people and I’m so grateful I found your channel James, thank you for being someone all the way across the Atlantic Ocean who I can feel I truly connect with. Much love from all your fans in America, thank you James.❤️
A great choice! I bought my Gransport back in 2015. It's just ticked over 98k. Can't think of another V8 coupe you could get for the money that sounds as good. Puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up! Looking forward to your on depth review. Keep up the good work!
Love your channel, James. Very sorry to hear about your sad news -- we've also had losses in the past couple of years, and watching your fabulous videos definitely always cheers me up, even, and especially, after a rubbish day.
Genius and madness aren't that far apart 😉 I own a Granturismo S for about a year now and I think it was a genius move as it's beautiful and makes me feel great. And in that year I've spent less that £600 on servicing and parts. Do a lot of simple stuff myself - easy as anything and I'm far from being an expert. SportsItalia are great and don't forget the Maserati Shed just around the corner as well. Enjoy it James - life's too short not to.....
Hi James! I hope things are looking up for you, and I hope that those close to you are at peace. I'm just a student struggling to finish an engineering master's so that I can go build the cars of the future. This last stretch is a true struggle - I'm not naturally academically strong, but I chose the hard path because of my passion for everything automobile. Your content has been my go-to library of car reviews and perspectives of the industry, and I'm inspired to keep going by the enthusiasm and attention you give to your work. Without you and other automotive content creators on RUclips, I might have long ago given up on my engineer dreams for being too distant, but I get a little dose of the love for cars each day. Thank you very much for what you do.
Thank you James. I know sometimes it's hard to show your feelings, believe me, I've been there, you are more of a man to share as well! The car is stunning too. I just hope that that gearbox doesn't give you too much gyp! Anyway, keep on doing what you're doing, splendid.
James, I know you love each of your cars for a specific reason. It will be nice when you get them all back.Though as anyone who has a fleet knows-rarely are they all around at the same time. I could see you selling a few to get yourself a well used ferrari ff as a daily thats had the front transmission box fixed.
I have to two parents who are both very ill, videos from the likes of yourself and a few other car tubers are always a warm welcome and a chance to dream about a few classics. And it is immensely appreciated, so I hope you are doing ok. If you are ever in belfast, me and my bros have a few classics you could try.
@@JayEmmOnCarswell I appreciate your content, commentary and enthusiasm. We have a Mk2 Golf Gti, Mk3 MR2 with a 2zz, and just bought a Saab 900 classic to get back on the road.
Dear James, so sorry for your loss and recent challenges. Know that your work is appreciated in many corners of the globe.👏🙏 welcome to the Scud and Gransport F136 Club. I have been fortunate to enjoy both for some time now, lots of contrast so looking forward to your take on yours. Safe travels and enjoy!

James, your chanel has been at least partially responsible for my two most recent purchases ( FN2 Type R, and now my much treasured Jaguar XK X150) and with that I feel your opinion is more than just the random musings of a stranger. I offer my deepest and most profound sympathies for your trying times, and hope that the coming days and weeks will be kind to you and those dear to you. Thank you for what you do, it makes a difference to my day, and I'm grateful you stuck with it. All the best buddy.
Hi James, after a accident in work i stumbled across your page and loved it since, on highs and lows you can cheer me up and more importantly to me you help me believe that dreams of owning a mix of amazing cars is possible. So keep up the good work mate 👍
Sorry for your loss, James, and congratulations on your new purchase. As a recent acquirer of a GranSport, I can say they are an absolutely fantastic car! I personally love the gearbox and the downshifts are absolutely amazing. Definitely looking forward to more GranSport content and you will definitely be getting my views (probably several times per video)! Can’t wait…
Excellent choice sir. Probably the most underrated GT cars ever. I own a 2006 example in grey and I think it's great. It has its quirks but it certainly pitsa smile on your face. Trouble is I drive it everywhere with the windows down so I can enjoy what is probably the best sounding engine out there.
I'm looking forward to seeing these videos. As someone who has a penchant for interesting and/or unreliable cars, I've looked at the Maserati GT a few times. It's just always been too difficult to find a proper manual and I've heard so many horror stories of the manu-matic. Beautiful car.
I’m an avid fan James, which is why I was happy for you to review two of my cars. I still have them both - the Evil Aston is still going strong at 120k. That has a great history file. The wife stole the TTRS. I ended up with a Disco Sport as a daily - surprisingly good. The fleet now includes a 1971 Alfa Romeo Bertone Coupe with a V6 Busso, MX5 NC Super 200 and most recently a 997.2 Targa 4 S pdk - a practical 4 seat hatchback! Your reviews are honest and entertaining. I look forward to seeing another 1300. I lost a parent earlier this year so understand what you are going through. I intend to continue living my life as I always have - it’s what they would have wanted. Keep sharing the joy of what you do. Cheers
I am glad I learned english, so I am now able to enjoy your videos. Keep up with the honest sharing of your passion and your feelings, this is such a noble thing to do. Thank you 🙏🏼
Just started watching you chanel after getting bored with other car youtubers who either got too big or were just perennially negative. Your content is always so bright and full of light Best wishes in your time of need
You are a Great mate James. What you do is Anything but irrelevant. Your aproach to cars and mood is amazing. Keep ok going and be sure we all appreciate your efforts and results . Thank you!
Great video James. Sorry to hear youve been through some turbulence, my own experience tells me that things work out sooner than you expect. I've always had a soft spot for the Maserati GT in all its iterations ever since I sat in the newly launched 3200 GT way back when so I'll be following your progress on this one very closely. Keep up the good work 😃
I bought a 2017 Maserati GT “Special Edition” on a lease return. Came with an extra two year warranty. It’s been trouble free and an absolute JOY to drive! It really is a great car. I love just looking at it, and when you run it it makes you feel like a hero. That V8 is glorious. 🇮🇹
You are very welcome. Also thank you for such great content and opinions on the state of car things generally. I think this one could be a absolute bargain, giving proper Italian sport car joy for a fraction of the normal money. Best of luck with it!!
Well, thank you too. We all have up and downs, hang in there man. I've been going through hell myself, and I can't give up. I won't give up. Step by step we get there. It sucks i know, it sucks.
Sorry for your loss James, from experience go for a road trip, doesn't have to be long one, sit watch the sea and remember all the good times you shared and from now on when ever you feel sad pick out one of those happy moments and cherish the good times you had. At first it will be bitter-sweet but over the years the memories will leave a warm glow...
Im a 20 yo from Johannesburg South Africa thank you for recommending a Bmw 125i had a 2017 ford focus 1.0 eco boost in about 125 000km which started giving issues sold it for almost what I bought it for and bought a 2011 125i m sport with 2 previous long term owners and a good service history with 226 000kms with all the expensive stuff done have owned it for a few months and 6 000 km done and runs like a dream thank you😌
Had the pleasure of seeing this car in person today and being able to thank the man himself for the content. Oh, and see a certain TII FSO which my son loved. Great day all around, thanks again James, and thank you to your friend too who was super kind showing me round the new car.
Big congratulations!! I'm really excited too see the journey of this beauty on the channel, really hope it's a keeper. I once noticed the the seat heater button on these is the exact same as in the Lancia kappa (1994),meaning the same as in the Alfa 166 and probably who knows how many other Fiat group cars : )

You and Peter cook were the source of my sanity and if in anyway I can repay in like kindness and salvation please direct us all!
Jay, I am awaiting a heart op on Thursday and I discovered RUclips, and that particularly your channel and many other automotive channel two years ago whilst recovering from prostate cancer. I just couldn’t watch daytime TV but RUclips has been very special. I still await for the light blue dot to appear against your channel icon. Thank you thank you thank you. I know how much we appreciate each other. Best to you David
Thank you thank you, best wishes...things always take time to process through but they do....i've certainly benefitted from years of your uplifting positive content. Happy to also see you taking on all the moneypits on our entertaining behalf, so we dont have to. Good luck with the Maserati.
Twenty four years ago I had a life threatening illness for six months, all I wanted to read in hospital were car mags ,it mentally got me through the process .I know where your coming from !Good luck with it all,
What a car! Beautiful sound, beautiful look. I wont even bother mentioning reliability, because it is what it is ultimately and I doubt it ruins the car. On a more sombre note, I wanted to leave my condolences for your situation. Having suffered two grave losses this year myself, I just want to affirm that the path of life will keep winding, that better times will come, and that the hurt and pain felt in the moment, gives way to sweet memories, and joyful recollection as life moves by. I hope you and yours find the solace and comfort you need. Oh, and my Astra GTE Convertible is still up for review if you find yourself wanting to do so :)
Still watching this video but wanted to say how much I love your videos...sometimes even listen to them on a long drive. Also you live quite local to me and have met some owners of cars you have featured (and in one case driven thr same car) Mercedes C43 in blue 💙 keep up the amazing work
Well done James, another excellent purchase. Congrats on the continued success of the channel, watching your vids is always therapeutic for me and I'm sure many others.
I’m a fairly new follower of your channel James and enjoying your content very much. Having owned a 3200GT which I found like many a frustrating experience, I see the Gransport as a much better package so much so that I could be tempted back into Maserati ownership again inspired by your recent purchase.
Jay you are a genius, not a little bit… I have been following your channel for a year since I have seriously started looking to buy a GT at passion and value and I have gone through the same process you have gone through quite obsessively. I was with Quatroporte for sometime but I came to a decision on the Maserati GT Sport a couple of months ago a lot thanks to you. I am constantly checking the market in Europe before my move to Italy. Thanks! You look and sound good. It is a pleasure seeing you happy. Well done, you have gone through it. Cheers
If ever there was someone who deserves to enjoy some ‘head space’, driving a lovely car around Scotland, it’s you. Looking forward to your Maserati travelogue, and thanks again for the wonderful content! Drive safely and happily.
Always loved these and they’ve been on my list of attainable dream cars for some time. Excited to see how you get on with it. The CC gearbox is the only thing that keeps warding off those intrusive thoughts.
I've not watched any of your vids for a good while, for no real reason, but I really appreciate your input and thoughts on PH. Anyway, having said that and now having watched this your presenting level has come on amazingly well. Very watchable, clear, amusing and just the right level of nerdy detail. Lovely new car too and shirt.
Hi Jay, long time subscriber here. I don't comment much, but I watch all your videos. I'm a Huracan, S2000, and STi, owner as well. I think the purchase is great based on your service history, the thumbs up from the garage, and the seller, Mark's honesty about the car. I look forward to your Scotland adventure. Cheers from Lions Bay B.C., Canada ;)
I enjoy your channel and this new addition is a really nice one. 14:06 Comparing design of this proper four seater with the XKR and then saying the XKR looks better, well that's because it's not a four seater coupe. This is very slickly designed as it seats four adults but still manages to hide it. Getting the same size passengers into the XKR would require first chopping them up and then vaccuum bagging them. Even that may not suffice.
Very long time sub here, like some of your viewers going through a tough time it’s nice to stick you on shuffle and forget things. Glad you’ve taken off well deserved too, long may it continue. Cheers jay 💪🏻
Another one of my bucket list cars 😍 Hope you'll be having a lot of fun with it James! I'm also terribly sorry for your loss.... Thank you for the amazing content!
In case you see this comment, you do an important job. You entertain us, you educate us, and you are bloody good at it. Keep doing it for as long as you can. You are the only channel I follow and watch every time a new video is uploaded.
Well done that would be the Maser most people should try out if they are not too familiar wit Maserati's and the Gransport is pretty solid and good to live with I hope to see a review of the Maserati Shamel from 1992
Always love James's reviews.. he's down to earth, informative and a genuine likeable bloke. I've loved the Maserati 4200 and thought they were a bargain.. but this one is ridiculously cheap. I have to disagree about the F1 clutch. I prefer it to a double clutch as its more involving. My 575M has it and it's a fabulous system if properly maintained. Nice shirt, too.
Keep your spirits up, and take the time you need. We'll wait for you if you need time, and always appreciate the effort and time you put into your channel. You deserve recognition for all you do.
Love your channel, it's a great fix for any petrol head! And I love the fact you bravely step outside the sensible zone. Yes I too love an XK , but the masser just has that certain something. I have lusted over a 3200 since they came out, but still haven't added one to my big boy's toy box, however the 4200's seem to be big bang for buck at present so I'm very keen to see how this pans out. After a long day watching a couple of your videos/posts I find the perfect wind down, so thank you!
James sorry about your recent loss. As a follower from the early days, I have looked forward to your videos and regard you as my youtube first choice and obviously recommended to numerous people who are now avid followers to your channel!!! Anytime you may be in West Yorkshire I may let you review my 2005 jimny!!!! Totally standard not tuned!!!!!! Take care regards darren
Very excited for the in depth review. I have loved to the US a few months ago and Gransports with 30k miles are often around $20k here so are on my list.

…Oh and I hope you try talking to some owners, or using one for a period of time before you knock the PT cruiser. You might be surprised!
I think many will appreciate your genuine and great felt message at the start. Always be good to yourself, and keep up the hard work man.
You're a successful chap, beacause your good at what you do. Sorry to hear you've been through some rough times recently.
That's an impressive set of history folders! So hard to come by these days as dealers seem to be unwilling to share these due to "data protection". Lovely looking Masa!
Yes that is two impressive huge folders of burnt money.
Thank you
As a 4200 (on GS springs) owner, once the Maserati bug bites ....
Whatever has happened in your life we feel for you james fantastic you got to spend extra time with loved ones through this line of work
Love your videos and your comment about inclusivity and the videos being for everyone was important and very well said.
I dont catch them all but I enjoy them when I do and its clear you enjoy making them
Absolutely outstanding choice there, well done James!
So sorry to hear of your loss , it’s so true in difficult times we all reach out for help and your channel really does contribute to that
A great choice! I bought my Gransport back in 2015. It's just ticked over 98k. Can't think of another V8 coupe you could get for the money that sounds as good. Puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up!
Looking forward to your on depth review. Keep up the good work!
You can always spot a Maserati owner - they talk with their arm movements like a proper Italian
I was hooked on Gant shirts back in high school, '65 to '68. Excellent fit, great cotton and held starch nicely.
Thanks David. I'm always meaning to visit Ireland, I have family over there
@@JayEmmOnCarswell I appreciate your content, commentary and enthusiasm.
56yr old guy

Have an old fintail Merc
Just wanted to tell you I very much enjoy your take on cars
Your enjoyment of them
And I want to wish you the very best, always, as well as to your closest ones.
Take care
All the best

I do exactly the same😂. Mine having Larinis
The v8 from Maserati sounds so good 😊
You just make me love and appreciate cars more... Thank you
Very kind
Cheers
Sorry for your loss. And I love how you buy the cars that have a special interest for me and I suspect, so many of us - perfect!
Your content is always so bright and full of light
Best wishes in your time of need
Huge respect Jay. Glad you have been able to be there for your family and friends.
Sending you my best wishes mate
Dec
My mum was originally born and raised near Yorkshire. I knew no there humor in the desolation of the Midwest of America than her refreshing sense of dark wit and humor I now crave as an adult all these decades later. You and Peter cook were the source of my sanity and if in anyway I can repay in like kindness and salvation please direct us all!
What a lovely intro. From one of your viewers / supporters suffering depression I just wanted to send you a big❤
Hey Buddy… Prayers out… thanks. Your videos and your story telling format are excellent!
Twenty four years ago I had a life threatening illness for six months, all I wanted to read in hospital were car mags ,it mentally got me through the process .I know where your coming from !Good luck with it all,
Condolences my man. You are a balm to me too. Always watch your videos. Be well
I love your purchase, a fantastic car you can be proud to put more miles on. Well done, and sorry for you loss. The great wheel turns.
Still watching this video but wanted to say how much I love your videos...sometimes even listen to them on a long drive. Also you live quite local to me and have met some owners of cars you have featured (and in one case driven thr same car) Mercedes C43 in blue 💙 keep up the amazing work
I loved that C43
Me too, they were massively kind and lent me if for the weekend! Gents
Well done James, another excellent purchase. Congrats on the continued success of the channel, watching your vids is always therapeutic for me and I'm sure many others.
Sorry to hear your sad news James, keep doing what you love and have no regrets. I always look forward to your videos and thank you right back 👍
I’m a fairly new follower of your channel James and enjoying your content very much.
Do a PT cruiser review, I loved them as a kid! Although I now drive an XJ x351 as a 28 year old and not a PT cruiser 😂
As a former XKR owner, I concur with this comment 😂
Very long time sub here, like some of your viewers going through a tough time it’s nice to stick you on shuffle and forget things. Glad you’ve taken off well deserved too, long may it continue. Cheers jay 💪🏻
Another one of my bucket list cars 😍
Hope you'll be having a lot of fun with it James!
I'm also terribly sorry for your loss....
Thank you for the amazing content!
Car enthusiast, yes but value you and the commitment, quality and genuine work you produce. Thank you and wishing you peace.
In case you see this comment, you do an important job. You entertain us, you educate us, and you are bloody good at it. Keep doing it for as long as you can. You are the only channel I follow and watch every time a new video is uploaded.
Well done that would be the Maser most people should try out if they are not too familiar wit Maserati's and the Gransport is pretty solid and good to live with
I hope to see a review of the Maserati Shamel from 1992
James, you care about us and we care about you, that simple. Keep up the great work and thank you!
Cheers James, your videos are comforting and great entertainment, it’s no wonder your comment sections are filled with praise and best wishes 🙂
What a stunner, well done James. Sorry for the recent news, hopefully that Italian exhaust note will help keep your spirits high.
Sorry for your loss James. Wow with your purchase looking forward to your Scotland trip and many more shows 👌
Love your channel, it's a great fix for any petrol head!
What an intro , keep up the amazing videos we love watching your channel. Great new purchase love the colour
Sorry for your loss James. Thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you for doing what you do sir. Thoughts with you and your family in difficult times. ❤
Very excited for the in depth review. I have loved to the US a few months ago and Gransports with 30k miles are often around $20k here so are on my list.
