For ARB that's your priority. For Air Sim pilots it's the last thing we worry about. For us the Radar is everything. You can't kill what you can't see and the radar on the SM is Deadpool's blind roomate Althea. SM can hear really well with its RWR but can't see shit.
We don't get the benefit of generalized balancing that comes with ARB, the little perks ARB players get that Sim players don't. No tags either.
So in Air Sim this jet just gets stomped. The best this jet can hope for is to play a mixed All vs All battle so it has US jets to blend in with and use for cover or decoys and get closer to targets to use the R-27ET and occasionally the R-77 if the radar can actually pick up the target long enough to fire.
In a NATO vs RU Air Sim battle, the RU team gets camped in. They're wiped out while climbing at the start, by enemies they can't lock and if they attempt to respawn and take off again, the enemy has closed in enough to lock and fire on anyone taking off, killing them at the end of their runway. And that's it. The RU team takes off, get maybe 2 kills and it's over.
Gaijin can quit making shit up any time now.

@@missingthe80s58 I agree with you, well explained mate! for sim players its definitely the RADAR more than the flight model, cuz we can do cobras and fire R73s to survive.

For both r77 and the plane itself

if the su-27 only had a radar that had a gimble, and a accurate flight model it really wouldn't be that bad, but the su-27 can't react to threats very well, you turn into a bus notching stuff and by the time you can put your nose on someone you're at a disadvantage and probably dead. the only way I've found the su-27 to work is as a stealth flanker, go low, get behind, or to the side, get high and launch on everyone. it does not work very well at all if the enemy sees you, because again, it cannot react to multiple threats or surprise threats.
This is why I prefer the f16C and mirage 2000, great all around fighters with lots of versatility and dog fight potential.
