    Playing and hustling as Cesar Morales in the early 80's, he left a trail of destruction in pool tables with his $10 cue stick all over the US. They did not know what or who hit them. Legendary.

      In the Philippine some hustler when you first encounter them , they pretend that they are at your level of skill , they will not scare you , you are confident you can beat them , the hustler will take all your money then move to another town , in Efren case He went to the US to hustle for money until no one like to bet thier money against Him then He is force to be a professional player , He run out of opponent in pool gambling😅

      @MrKeith75 2 года назад +37

      Jose was here way before Efren and he doesn’t have nearly the accomplishments. There’s a reason why Efren wins almost every 8 ball event and just about every one pocket event. Cuz their skill games. Even with the luck factor In 9 ball he still won a ton of them. He’s also the highest money winner of all
      Time. No matter what he and Jose did head to head in a few tournaments, he is in a class of his own. It’s not even a matter of opinion. He is by far the best player. FACT!!!

      @@jonmiller19845 Because jose sucks and never was good enough to win any world tournaments like Efren. Let the skill speak. He was probably destroying efren when efren was 5 years old and Jose was 10 LOL

      @davidcorelli556 2 года назад +6

      @@godjhaka7376 Hey I agree that Efren is much better. But please don't say Jose sucks. The guy won around 100 tournaments in the US starting around the year 1985. In 1988 he won the World Pro 9-Ball Tournament, beating Efren Reyes 9-3 in the finals. The tournament had 900 players. He won about 40k for that back in 1988. In 1996, Parica won four tournaments that year, Beaten Efren Reyes in three finals. The following year in 1997, Parica won five tournaments and was ranked number 1 in the professional tour ratings and was chosen Player of the Year in 1997 by three award-giving bodies - Billiards magazine, Billiards Digest magazine, and the Camel Pro Billiards Series. I've watched the guy in person match up for hours for high stakes and never seen him lose. In one pocket he would hit the object ball and then the q-ball would travel 2 or 3 cushions and freeze behind another ball. The first few times I would think it was luck and then he kept doing it. I walked up to him one time after watching him and asked, "how are you so good?" He replied " it's my bread and butter".. I said "I get that but really" He said "when I make a mistake someone else takes out their knife and cuts me, when they make a mistake, I take out my sword and KILL THEM"

Some of his 'get out of trouble shots' are so intricate and artistic we dare not even think it's possible, but he does it in quiet rumination and humbleness. I call his kick-shots double joy, because he not only gets out of trouble, but the object ball also finds home.

    Sad to see that my country doesn't recognize what he has brought for the Philippines and didn't reward him any for of his achievements, only recognitions but no monetary assistance or support when old age comes. News is that he is still playing wherever possible with bets of course. I witness him live to play in our barangay here at Taguig. Bets were high reaching 1.7k to 3.5kUSD each rack. I bet about 10 dollars for fun on Efren of course, won and was doubled. Still keeping some of the money I won that day to remind me of the Pool GOAT.

    The greatness Efren showed and contributed to the sport of billiards should earn him millions and millions of dollars. The sad part of the truth is, this game offers a very small amount of prize. If basketball has Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods of golf, Muhammad Ali of boxing, etc., then billiards has Efren Reyes. But the earnings of Efren compared to these guys were just very very small.
