  • Travis McMichael took the stand to testify in the death of Ahmaud Arbery murder trial on Nov. 17, 2021. He said he shot him because "he had my gun." He also said he does not remember every hand or movement during that time. He referred to some of it as a "blur."
    Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Three men face murder charges in a trial in southeast Georgia. The trial is on Day 9 as of Nov.17.
    Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
    Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

    • @RifleEyez
      @RifleEyez Год назад +4

      True, but I wouldn't say it was an execution, it was a fuck up bungled vigilantism attempt to detain him. In the hypothetical he "surrendered" to being boxed in and said "fine, I'll wait for the Police", do you still think they'd have killed him without the close quarters melee involved? I'm not condoning vigilantism, and he had no reason to surrender to their whims being unsure of their motives, but I'm just curious what people think on that topic.
      They're guilty of it for chasing him down and putting themselves in that situation, no doubt about that, but I'm not entirely convinced they'd have just driven by and shot him without a word. To me they had no faith in the Police doing anything if they just reported their suspicions (which IIRC they did, the Police are kind of useless in these situations, we've all been there or know someone with how useless Police can be when reporting theft), and it just escalated.
      I'm completely open to different interpretations of this, I can't say I've followed beery single aspect of the case, so I'm prepared to be challenged on my assessment (not in the US so I'm not trying to defend one group or the other)

If he is so brave, and sure of himself, he should repeat the gold teeth, cigarettes, and N word, in front of his new neighbors, and inmates all colors, will pop that head, make him run, and pin him like a rat. His buddy Bryan can holler down the hall, "y'all got 'em?" He made the choice to chase Ahmaud, instead of walking, or jogging with him for a unthreatend conversation. Now he will worry if HIS son, will be targeted because of his crap. He should have told his heart attack, stroked, hip replaced Father, to leave it for the cops. I have to wonder though, if the cops are kittens, like the ones responding after the homicide of Ahmaud.

    3. It’s against the law to trap a person like a rat or willfully apprehend anyone against their wishes…. Especially when you haven’t seen them commit a crime.
    4. It’s ok to run really fast when you jog. It’s ok to run faster if 2 men with firearms say they’ll blow your head off.

    It was a “life or death situation” that you provoked by pulling a shotgun on Mr. Arbery, so you don’t get to claim self defense. Ahmaud had was 100 justified in defending himself because someone doesn’t pull and point a shotgun on you unless they intend to kill you. I think the prosecution said it well: If you’re going to take the law into your own hands, then you’d better at least know the law.
