Ahmaud’s father’s outburst was entirely understandable, but the judge’s response was entirely right. He has been very careful to ensure that this case is beyond reproach, not giving the defence teams the slightest opening for a mistrial or grounds for appeal. In that respect he has done his job to bring justice for Ahmaud.

I have watched much of this trial several times as well & was very proud of the prosecution team for an excellent job to bring justice for this heinous act committed by these 3 cowardly men.
Though I fully understand the sentiment, I think bringing joy to one’s soul is inappropriate because at the end of the day, Ahmaud is dead & his family & friends will forever have a hole in their life.
These 3 men, in a complete racist act of stupidity & arrogance destroyed Ahmaud’s family, their own families, their entire community where they lived & to our country where racism is still a very much hot button. When will it ever end?
These men will die in prison & for what, acting out like vigilantes from the 1950’s?? So sad that education is lost & a primitive mindset prevailed. I do take comfort that these men got justice & I hope everyone else can heal ….

Afterall, they're were more whites in that courtroom including the jury! He murdered a Black Woman who was also a deputy.

I live here in Ga. I'm white. I am super PROUD of the jury's who found these 3 murders guilty. I was so ashamed of Ga at 1st for not going after these men. I'm glad that my peers felt the same way as I did and put their butts behind bars for life's they took a life now they got to pay. The judge was amazing. He handled this case the correct way and made sure that the defense teams have no grounds for appeal. Lock them up an throw the key away. That man did not deserve to die. I'm sick of seeing these men get killed everyday and nothing being done. I hope other states follow suit and start locking the true murderers up. If it was 3 black men that killed 1 white guy they would have been arrested that same day. It's sick. When I was 12 I lived in southern ga an there was rail roads that kept blacks on one side an whites on the other I am 36. Ga is just now coming to terms with treating blacks like they are human. Ioved up to northern ga an it was so different. I was glad to see Because I never understood why we had to be separated. Thankfully my aunt an uncle an parents taught me from a baby to love an respect everyone. Look at the person not the color of their skin. The color of their skin will teach me about history if I was to listen. I didn't understand that till I was older.

During the trial, the defense relied on the tactic of trying to appeal to racist sentiments they believed at least one juror might have harbored, especially the "blonde" lawyer, talking about "long, dirty toenails", and they attempted, as usual in cases like this, to blame the victim for the crimes of the defendants.
They were looking for a "Paul Manafort juror", at least one who would vote to acquit no matter how ironclad the evidence was against the defendants.
They also tried to justify the acts of the criminals by condoning racist profiling, as if it is OK for whites to automatically assume that a Black man can be murdered on white suspicion alone, without due process.
The defense exemplified support for racism in America. That was not justice.
It would be good if the Bar associations would issue a conduct rule to forbid such tactics, and any lawyers attempting such in the future, be barred from practicing law.
Now it remains to be seen if the judge pulls a "Vincent Chin", and gives the lightest sentences possible in the areas where he has discretion.

What I reviewed about this jury is what they wanted for the future. They’re holding everyone accountable. Also it’s the women. It’s very hard to fool a woman. I know when they were selecting the jury they thought the women would be weak but women are strong leaders. Even in the family women raise the kids, rear the husbands, decides the diets, punishments, and when you’re wrong a mother will tell you and hold you accountable.
I had no doubt that they would provide a fair verdict based on the actions of the participants.
