    I would NOT order the Ice Barrel 300 until they figure out how communicate with customers. I ordered in early August with a ship date of mid August. Then, I was told early September. Now, told it could be the end of October…. And it takes them 3-5 days to reply to an email

      Yep! I ordered mine mid august and was told the same. Cancelled my order the other day. It’s because their sending all these free barrels to RUclipsrs instead of people who paid for them. Making paying people wait.

    We are about the same height… are you able to sit with your legs fully crossed, or in any yoga type seated positions? Or is there not quite enough width for that?

      I don't think you'd have an issue at all. Pretty roomy inside!

    Great looking setup. How will you handle filter changes?

    • @Recovatech

      EDIT: I'll leave my original comment below, but I reread what you asked and I think you're asking how I'll change that filter with it in the deck box, right? If so, it's a tight fit, but I can still get the filter wrench in there and can wiggle it out of there. That or I'll just undo a couple hoses and take the whole unit out. Really not that difficult. A whole house filter should last a couple months, so a minor inconvenience.
      Great question! I put together an entire DIY project for this application here: ruclips.net/video/x605-IoJSFI/видео.html&ab_channel=Recovatech
      Skip to around 7:21 to see where I talk specifically about the filter.

    I have mine in my home in Florida. Does it sweat? The small portable one I'm using now has condensation I need to mop up .

      I know exactly what you mean. The Ice Pod I had was horrible during the summer. To answer your question, the Ice Barrel 300 does not sweat! It's a glorified garbage can (ok, a little nicer) but it works really well. The insulation keeps it super cold.

    Great review! Have you tried draining the tub? I have the 400 and it's annoying that it doesn't fully drain, still about 10% of the water still left sitting at the bottom. Is this the same for the 300?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Have not drained it yet. Have a great filter and added chemicals that keep the water clean for months. No need to drain all the time, but I'll be curious if what you say is the same.

    So how long does it stay cold without the chiller, does the insulation work well?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  11 месяцев назад +3

      So here's the deal, when I first filled it up, the water read 85 degrees. I added 4 bags of ice, which ended up not being enough for the first go around because that only dropped the temp down to 75 degrees. Because ice gets expensive, I scrapped the idea and just attached my DIY water chiller instead. That said, I did check the temp after 24 hours after adding the ice and it still read 75 degrees (that's before adding the chiller btw). That's not bad. Also, I've noticed that the chiller doesn't come on all that often either now that I have the temp down to around 56, where I prefer it. Considering it's been in the mid-90's around here, I'd say the insulation is pretty great. Long answer, but I hope it helps.

      @@Recovatech thank you for the response, I’m on a budget and trying to decide to get the ice barrel and make ice or get a chiller and keep me cheaper Amazon bath, I want it around 45-50, I bought a freezer to make lager bins of ice but it is struggling to keep up. I’m in pa so only a seasonal problem but that’s my dilemma

      @@beanerstoneshi friend. I suggest getting the chiller. I live in Hawaii and I leave my Amaya on ice barrel outside. And it gets it to 56-55 in the day then over night gets it to 49. The chiller is constantly running tho. I added insulation and that helped a bit. I wrapped it with those shiney reflective insulation ones.
      I used ice before and that's cool and all, but with the chiller I have cold water ready to go. No need to go ad dump ice and what not. Refill your containers afte you're done etc. it's pricy yes, got a 1/3 hp from frosty dive and it's was around 950. It very easy to hook up and includes everything. I was thinking bout getting this as well but I can't see myself spending 1k on a barrel lol. I'm actually gonna build my own out a stock tank because the insulation really makes a difference. So I can just imagine a full on insulation and not a hal ass wrap it in windshield sun visor insulation lol. But that's my input hope it helps

    The ice barrel 300 isn't stated to be made of LLDPE/BPA free as the ice barrel 400 - seems concerning

      @Recovatech  11 месяцев назад +1

      Only concerning if you don't ask. I reached out to them and they confirmed that the 300 is LLDPE/BPA free.

    I ordered mine 3 weeks ago. How long after you order it did it arrive?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  11 месяцев назад +2

      I ordered during the Pre-Order back in July and they said it wasn't shipping until "mid-August". I think the total time was about 4 weeks. I've heard 3-4 weeks is still the typical wait. Hopefully, it will be worth your wait. With a chiller, this thing is perfect for what I need.
