It's late summer and Rob Warner has finished all of his commentating commitments. The mountain biking world are still coming to terms with the fact that was the last time they'd ever hear him commentate a World Cup but Rob has flicked a switch and has turned his attention to a much more real and imminent topic. Tackling the GR5 route from Lake Geneva to Nice. Over 500 off road miles of mountains and singletrack…
As Rob and Olly stand on the shores of Lake Geneva they are beginning to wonder what they have signed themselves up for. It’s grey and wet with an unseasonable cold snap descending on the region, throwing the intrepid adventurers a little off kilter before they even leave the car park.
They did set off and as you can imagine they did run into some peril along the way. Did they make it to Nice? Watch this Christmas Special two parter to find out!

I bikepacked the gr5 solo a couple years back. Started in Les Gets after a Crankworx event, then ended in the sea at Nice. Took me 2 weeks. Everyone I met thought I was crazy carrying my bike up a hiking trail to ride down the other side! It was epic!

Well, prior to this I always dreamt of "doing biking" with Messrs Warner & Wilkins, and then during witness to this visual wonderment I thought "Nah f**k that with those two liabilities!"... but then those views though, some of which were terrifying mind you, and then you brought me back round. Two of the most grounded and genuinely naturally funny blokes with bikes in their soul that I would happily trade a family member for (and yes I do have one in mind) to have spent just one (easy) leg of that journey with.
So glad you made the smart choice to respect Mother Nature and come back down when you did too. Dodgey as.
This was an EPIC adventure.

Rob Oll's, when I went to Nice about one in every 10 pebbles on the beach was a dog poo. Any such luck? Was gutted as I was hoping Nice would be one of the greatest places ever. Lastly Olly has a history of dog poo vids and encounters, worldwide in fact. Some say Wilkins is in fact Latin for ' the dog poo finder' 🤣🤣🤣
