I feel like Anti-Large Infantry, Anti-Large Cavalry, Monstrous Infantry, Single-Entity Monsters, Flying Flankers (Harpies, Fell Bats, Furies, etc.), Flying Monsters, Flying Single-Entity Monsters, and Hybrid Melee/Spellcaster Lords (Malekith, Azhag the Slaughterer, Eltharion the Grim, etc.) should’ve all had their own categories.
Total war Warhammer Trilogy are massive, it won't be a big deal to have a longer video or series of short-clips covering all subject, even if explaining in general to newer players ... this video its quite rushed.
Awesome video. My only thought is I think flying monsters deserve a category of their own. You can use a dragon or hippogryph knights or whatever as just a frontlines brawler, but you'll get more out of them if you do some cycle charging, hitting from the rear, and making use of terror to try and break wavering units.
Now this is the video we needed to convert new players! Unit types, unit matchups, and basic tactics to secure those matchups and/or deal with unit weaknesses are the bread and butter of combat.
Great video. Simple, and informative. For artillery I believe there are two types, one that is more geared towards infantry units via splash damage, and one is focused on single target dps.
Bought this game some days ago because I love playing Dawn Of War Unification and went instantly frustrated to the point that I did not even want to play anymore because it doesnt even try to explain the combat and the combat controls to you wich is an absolute cheek considering the extremely overpriced tag. New player experience is an absolute fucking disaster! This video was in my recommendations and I guess I'll give it another shot now, thanks. You are doing the work the developers should have done but they seem like they give zero fucks for the players and the fanbase and relying completely on the good reputation of the Warhammer franchise..
Important for line of sight missile infantry is that they're also really good versus tall or flying targets since that allows them to function as fire and forget units.
You oughta do a video on just artillery, I feel like there’s suddenly a lot more variety in artillery with the ogres, Cathay, and kislev. In my kislev campaign right now I’m still being shy about using little groms cuz I’m not sure how best to utilize them
Cathayan sky junks have unlimited rifle ammo Once your rockets run out I like to hover them over fights where no ranged units are present until I can send them off the field
Hello, first of all, great video! I love your guides and you are doing a great job! I know you probably wanted this video to be short and brief, but as many people already wrote here, mentioning just quickly flying units and single-entity monsters would be also great. But, everyone is a general after the batlle, right? :) Good job and wish you the best luck!
Personally I also count two other monster types in the vein of big single target entities. Dive Bombers, single unit flyers like dragons and manticore that use their ability to fly to drop in and utterly savage back lines before flying away cause they ain't too tough. Then we got Brawlers, while slow and earth bound are so girth you can just point them at a problem and that problem goes away. Heroes, smashing infantry, other monsters basically all purpose beat sticks as lo ong as they don't get surrounded. Sometimes even then by virtue of sheer size they still walk away. Two more whe. I thought about it in roles. The artillery monster like sould grinders of Necrofex Collosi. Big guns for mobile platforms the can also clean up in melee fine. And the single target killers like bone giants or harpoon thrower stone horns that shoot big projectiles that deal large damage for single entities bit lack the volume for infantry. Last one I swear, support monsters like Chaos War Shrines. Also provides buffs and sometimes has magic embedded in it.
how to use weak useless melee infantry that cannot hold or kill anything and is pointless at flanking too yet you may be forced to use such units in teh early game (to never touch them again later) due to economy or unit restrictions early on ? example skaven melee units, bretonia peasants, chaos dwarf laborers, etc ... how are you supposed to use something that dies quickly, runs away seconds after getting into fight and dosnt do damage ? ... im prety much strugling with any faction that has those starting units and i mess up everything as im rushing to get rid and repalce those as quickly as possible at the cost of everything else
For cav and chariots, you should click on the enemy. However, with chariots, you should click on the enemy, and then once they've made contact, click behind them. If you do it correctly, they should charge the enemy, deal their damage, and then go *through* the enemy unit and out the back end due to their massive amount of mass. For cav, it's better to try and pull them out they way they came if you want to charge them again (which you should, unless they're heavy cav and/or bears.) You may need to commit some infantry to engaging the unit they've charged to help them get out, though, especially in a head-on charge instead of from the flanks or backs.
i'm playing dark elves and struggling to come up with a good solution because i'm forcing myself to not use ranged units with them. the biggest problem being ranged units that i am facing, i've tried cav but they seem to not be particularly good for that as the ones i have access to are either too slow to get in or just too weak to even pose as a threat, i'm figuring maybe skirmishers or harpies might be a better solution, the skirmishers just getting the drop on them or harpies that just keep them busy until i break through the enemy front lines.
You left out the distinction between single entity units, and expendable units. Same for flying units vs ground units. Also specialized units like Ghorst zombies who have nearly 60K HP if healed well. Giants are less bad than they were before.
There should have been room to mention (or a whole video) on sub-unit and hybrid troops/monster to this video honestly, such as the difference of troops equipped with shield or only halberd/spear troops as line-holders for example. This didn't give us the time to understand the role of Anti-lagre related units, different between Monstrous Infantry & Single-entity Monster, a whole section for flying units ... in which all combined make these game more unique than most standard real-time strategy game, highlight its Warhammer Fantasy settings. Total war Warhammer Trilogy are massive, it won't be a big deal to have a longer video and series of short-clips covering all subject. Even those this aim to explain in general term, this video its rushed which lead to lacking useful information.

Cannon Fodder needed also a place.
@@BlondieRUclips for sure fodder are important for a lot of factions such as vampire counts

Thanks for this fantasic guide video!!! Im still using it today! Weldone, and fantastic explained which each unit stats to define what it does.
I expected a longer video......do it (palpatine voice)
I thought this was going to be an hour, but I appreciate the brevity.
DO IT!!! (LaBeouf-style)
thank you for the video, helps me alot as a newbie to the games

This is super helpful for new players! Thanks for the vid.
you made my unit composition better with this guide, thank you Colonel O7
Was a bit surprised that Damneders didn't have a specific "Giant" category summed up with "Don't" before moving on, given his overt dislike of them.
very good conclusion and tips here for beginners !

Hell yeah, brother.

simple and to the point
The golden orders guns are extremely effective if you make lines and have a pike line in front
Cathayan sky junks have unlimited rifle ammo
Once your rockets run out I like to hover them over fights where no ranged units are present until I can send them off the field
You forget about Expendables and Summonables.
Let us see what the colonel has for us today
Very nice video, does cover a very big and important part of units, awesome 👍👍 😎

I would devide Artillery into, what they should be aiming at, like Rocket Batteries against infantry and Cannons against monsters
good guide by the way
where is the second part of the orc guide???

Do the longer video, make it a serious by faction. Do it, you know you want to
dude didn't even want to touch the lizardmen rooster cause or all the units almost hybrid fighting style lol
Remember your abc’s when using chariots… always be charging
You look like you would be a fun fight to fight against :)
what category are Fiends of Slaanesh in?
The wood elves seem quite complicated to me. Will u make a guide for the for warhammer 3? Or are the warhammer 2 vids still useable?

Probably a dumb question , but with cavalry and chariots do you click on the enemy or behind them for the initial attack ?
For cav and chariots, you should click on the enemy.

Is nobody talking about the fact the man just said "Total War Whama 3?"
raid shadow legends meets Warhammer
warhammer grand alliances in total war Warhammer
What are harpy’s
What do I do with the terra Cotta sentinel from carthay ?
how do you know which units are line of site without using them?
Nice
hybrid units next?
