Great video. I bought a similar 4in1 from an Austrian company called Zipper, I live in Germany. I have had some trimmers from them in the past and I was pleased. I got a 4in1 trimmer that just worked 25 minutes the first time I fired it and had to send it return it, because the second time I fired it it did not run at all. For days I tried to make it run and did adjustments just like the one you explain, but nothing. Actually, my machine looks exactly likes yours, maybe they all are made in China and sent out in the world, that is why all of them have the same issues and look the same. Great video!
Sounds a little lean. You want to adjust it rich until you hear the rpm's start to drop, then back lean until it peaks again. Turn it about 1/2 turn back rich and that's your starting point. If you just richen it until the rpm's peak like that you're way too lean when it gets under load. You have to keep going until they start to drop again. In general I err on the rich side as it's bad for the spark plug but good for the motor and spark plugs are a few dollars if I foul one.
Hi. Just bought one last week used it and was chocking and flooding a lot this will explain why it’s stopped running! I didn’t understand the process of how the fuel mixture screw work’s so I played about with it and I’ve had to order a new Carb as it wouldn’t start anymore.! Took the carb off to notice the gasket broke. Great explanation thank you!
Thanks for sharing your experience with me it helped me figure out what was wrong with my new 4 in 1 Strimmer with your video I have fixed it so thanks very much .a fantastic from Ireland.☘️
That tool is great for you as you know how to proper set up the carb but, for most of the buyers that don´t know how a carb works and what a choke is that particular machine would be totally unusable. Maybe that´s only a special case but it doesn´t mean that you have to be happy with a tool that need service right out of the box. Have one of that machines waiting on the way, but im sure i would tune it even if it works ok because manufacturer don´t. Great video and review.
I have a 52cc earth auger and it looks same engine. I had issues with the screws to the spacer block to the carb backing out. I put some locktite on it and it seemed to solve the issue. Before I figured out what was going on it was hard to start and run and got increasingly worse.
Thats real handy to know as I couldn't work out why mine today kept stalling when I turned the choke "off" (ON) now I know I'll be able to re-adjust it back (after me messing with it)...lol....cheers, really helpful.
Thanks ran mine for mabey 3 hours than it started acting up took off the cover and seen it was the wrong way after watching this ... feeling alot better about the buy now
ha this was awwsome i just orderd one this morening before waching this so thanks for the heads up looks like it will be a good product for the house when needed
Remember as the filter in the tank gets clogged over time people usuely adjust the carb to compensate for fuel starvation always check tank filter aswell
Mine would bog down and stop after 20 minutes when I bought it. Found it was building a lot of vacuum in the petrol tank because the vent in the petrol cap could not work efficiently enough as the tank is quite large. Replaced cap, - same problem. Fixed by adding a 3 hole grommet where the fuel lines go into tank and fitted a vent line with breather valve. I have 3 Chinese trimmers, all reliable and parts are easy to get. Only weakness is the pull starter so pays to have a spare tucked away so you're not left stranded if it breaks
I think the design makes more sense on that 2-stroke engine than the troy-bilt because of the way the gas-tank is made the gas tank is always up when you put the engine down; while the troy-bilt you have to turn it on the side to pour gas in.
Bugger eh! that would be enough to throw for a loop for sure. Good thing you got it figured out. I bought a cheap yardworks string trimmer the other day it wouldin't even run until I adjusted the carb. She runs like a dream now though.
I have one similar to this I have a BC520 52cc 5 in 1 and a timber pro 62cc 6150 had it 3 years and fellow Pennsylvania resident I like your videos I saw the slippery rock hoodie .
I was asked if I could have a look at this very same machine for an in-law. I had the choke on when I thought it was off could I get it to run right, nay lad. I removed the intake cover to inspect the filter and figured it out that I was upside down. However when I looked again closely at the printing on the plastic it must have been realised by the manufacturer to be wrong (this must be a younger model than yours ) so on this model they replaced the on /off with two tiny little pictures of a butterfly valve vertically open the other horizontally closed in the correct positions but man not easy to see especially for an auld codger like me. The large word CHOKE at the bottom of the slide space in the plastic is really misleading. I mean usually you move the lever towards the word choke not away from it. I got this thing working the block between the engine and carburettor had come loose and the gasket if there was one was gone so I made one with thin gasket sheet. Thread lock is recommended for the bolts. Great video.
You say maybe you'll put a label on the choke, but there is already one. the little square label between the choke lever and the motor shows the correct choke position.
It's unbelievable how cheap this thing is. You said it, for the price of one attachment from one of the name brands you can buy 5 attachments AND the power head. crazy. How is the power compared to a regular 25-28cc string trimmer?
I had exactly the same problem yesterday with my pole pruner. It got me mad and fuming until I removed the air filter to see the choke was ON when it says OFF.
I have a machine like that, for about a month now but has never started. But the thing is when I,m pulling the start string the engine retrackes the string back with a force I believe is not right.I thought the string would crack/brake the handle.Have you experienced that? What is the reason for it to do so.Hope you can answer my question about this. Thank you.
Same motor as my stand up scooter, it's called a Burner DX but I've yet to find any online that even look similar, your engine is dead on tho. I'm getting ready to ride full speed into a hickory tree...
When it rides good it really good, but it's trouble starting and bogs down to shut off after reaching top speed and right before it does, kicks in again. Gets gas then don't, then does and dont.
Ummm you need to pump the light bulb more until it shows mixture of gas and oil through those 2 clear tube. What level do you have the speed, the flat screw head. I would put it on 2.5.
I ah E one like this but it’s blue and SGS branded. First t would not prime but cleaned carb/bulb/diaphragm and it does. The it would start and drop off on applying revs. Now the pull Chord has snapped!! I’m looking at ways to replace it not replace the whole unit.
Yeah man I had the same problem with the choke on my gas powered stand up scooter I bought has this exact same engine as one in video I thought I blew it up but nope choke was upside down
i can't believe it even ran at all if you thought choke was setup correctly...do you have update on it? what the mix ratio? 50 to 1??? also how well does chainsaw and hedge trimmer work ?? will hedge trimmer cut 3/4'' branches? thanks
I have a motorsense timberteck ms52-2tl and the engine keeps stopping and kicks back it has had a long history of kick back and the compression was too high and I was un able to pull the cord properly because of kickback. I took of the cylinder off to de coke it and made a plate 4mm thick to soften the compression now the carbourettor needs replacing as it is flooding the engine I think a walbro carb will fit it. I think the strimmer I have is an early version of the one from ebay. Given the problems ive had so far I do not know if it is worth repairing. Given the small space in the combustion chamber it would need to be de- carbonised regularly most likely after 2 seasons. However sinse I reduced the compression its a lot easier to pull the cord and its possible to get to the end of the cord. The pullcord casing is broken because of the kickback problem which is refusing to be solved. I even elonggated the holes in the ignition coil stattor to retard the timming but to no avail.
It definitely sounds a lot better. If I was only listening to this video, I'd be swearing you were running the TimberPro. The choke sticker was put on backwards.

The choke is in run position / OFF / engine warm always way down.
Here in the UK , it comes under the Parker brand name and properly labeled . Down for choke off .
So that is the single screw one, some have two adjustment screws H and L adjustments.
At 5:21 I see a big square white label with a diagram saying "Cold start" at the top, lever in raised position.
Mine is exactly the same but has no adjustment screw. There's something there but it's smooth headed and doesn't adjust
