Very nice video. I've made that drift a few times, years ago. A shout out to your guide for the perfect release on the steelhead. That's how everyone should do it.
Only fished the Ditch about 30 times. Love fishing the Ditch every time I'm on it. I will say I've never been here in May/June and never done the first run kings. Looks like you all had a great trip. As for the taste comparison - there isn't one. Nothing is going to taste or be better than a spring king salmon. Fat content on the springer is WAY higher than the sockem-in-the-eye. Just remember kids, color is not a flavor.
Thanks, keep up with the channel, in the next few days I’ll be doing a sockeye and halibut video plus I’ll be breaking down all of the costs of this trip.
@@G2GO_outdoors it will be hard to tell the difference, especially WA state. Can target kings in fresh or salt water. The Columbia River for kings is a must.
Absolutely love fishing The Ditch for kings.
That's awesome!! Couldn't be more jealous!
It has been a fun trip!

Our guide, Nolan was professional In every manner. Great guide and highly recommend
I caught a huge steelhead in that same run you caught your king. Beautiful part of the world.
Heck yeah that's a nice fila! That will make your tongue slap your eyebrows out.😂😂👍

Agree with the taste 100%! That doesn’t discredit the taste of the red salmon but those spring kings are delicious. Currently planning my next trip!
I used to love relaxing on that river then all hell bereaks loose! I've gotten a 47 and 45 pounder out of there.
Enjoyed taking care of y’all’s fish for ya during you trip to the Kenai Peninsula!!!
Thanks, the fish was very professionally taken care of and we have been enjoying it back here in Georgia!
Plannig a trip to Soldatna with my family next year and I hope to get in some fishing while I am there! Great video!

Very cool Blake. I hope you all catch a few more. God bless you and your family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Thanks, we’re gonna be eating fish dove days!
I used to catch 30-45 lb kings from the gravel bar just below the hatchery and 50- 75 lb kings on the Kenai in the 80’s and 90’s! Not anymore! Sad.
I sure would have like to have got to experience that back then! I couldn’t imagine hooking up to a king that big!
Dandy fish. Congrats.
Thanks, it’s been such a great trip!
Nice !! ❤️
I have a aunt that knows how to cook up a piece of salmon!
Thats a dream trip
Not bad for a Tattnall Co Boy!
We try! Lol
You were able to legally keep a king this year...? What dates?
This was back around June 7th-8th if I recall correctly.
One king 😂😂😂? Why go to Alaska, forget about it, WA or OR offers the same for half the price.
I’ll have to check it out!

Gotta come back up for the red run
Would love to but I love a long ways away! 😂
