      Ryan. My oldest are lake fishers from Washington.. we need to get out of town and we are hoping to find a good guide we are flying in on Friday morning 3 am and leaving Tuesday 5pm we are staying with my friends dad in Palme. Last min trip for us me and my oldest (16)
      If you have the availability you’d be gracious enough to guide us one of those days?
      Thank you! PJ

      @@p.j.edminster1805 I take this as a huge compliment and would love to say yes, however I do not guide. That's a hustle that I no longer take part in and leave it up to the professionals. Thanks for checking in though and I hope you enjoy your trip up here, the fishing has been excellent all week!

      Skunked Again! That's such an awesome (and appropriate) name for a fishing channel! Thanks for tuning in as I know you know that it means a lot. Good luck fishing on the Kenai while you're here. We went out last night and seen tons of fish being brought in. We ended up with a nice 11lb silver and a stringer full of chrome sockeye. It looks like today is going to be a sunny one too!

      @@alaskasmallcraftadventures You got it right away with the SkunkedAgain name. Many are puzzled why I named my youtube channel SkunkedAgain! We just got back from Soldotna and loved it bringing home two 50# boxes of fish. And we're going to buy a place there for the summers. The fishing is unmatched! Thanks for sharing and your comments! @@skunkedagain Oh yea getting groceries from the river is always part of my shopping list! It's awesome that you've decided to make your trips up an annual thing. Summers here truly are unbeatable, just too dang short! But I guess that's part of what makes them so great. Ryan and Vinny. As we met at Swiftwater the other day, we bought a cabin in Anchor Point. Your channel was a huge help in my first season here. I’m now very interested in Silvers, especially on the Anchor River (down the street from cabin). Please do a silver salmon on the anchor river video. I’ll be glad to help you with any accommodations or scouting for that video. SkunkedAgain? Not Today! Tim

    I'm coming next summer for sure . Blue fin tuna was my bucket fish but I have already caught one. Now salmon is on the brain 🧠 my new bucket fish. I might take a trip before the summer is over to the great lakes because I can drive and my family lives in Michigan.

      Depending on what species you're after, June is awesome out on the Seward saltwater for all species of salmon. And as you know from tuning in, July is sockeye and August is coho. I see some big kings out there in those lakes being caught, that would be a good look before the winter is nipping at your heels!

    What's your favorite method for fishing for silvers? I've been flossing for reds but want to get into some silvers soon. I just moved up here to Kenai about a month ago!

    • @alaskasmallcraftadventures
      @alaskasmallcraftadventures  2 года назад +8

      Switch your yarn out for an orange bead above your hook and continue flossing for them with a fly rod. Or, throw chrome spinners at them. Salmon roe opens up in about 10 days and silvers can't help themselves when drifting by under a bobber. There are many different methods for success just have to have your hook in the water!

    I came up one year to the Kenai about Aug. 10th just for the Silvers. I'd rather catch 1 Silver than 6 Sockeye. Nothing wrong with Sockeye though, just a personal choice because of less people.

      August seems to be about half the rush especially after the 7th when dipnetting closes for the year. Silvers can be twice the size and actually provide some sport because they actually bite! Im with ya on mid august being best even as the seasonal winds start to build..
