I just got commissioned to build a Nimbus 2001 for a client, and this video is really going to be an asset! Thanks so much for clearly showing each step, and most importantly, I appreciate that you included mistakes. Failure is the best teacher! The finished article is beautiful, too!
millennium. Thanks for the compliment. The one thing the fans said I missed during the making of this broom was that the bristles are black to dark green. It would be the only thing I would change if I remade it. Thanks again. Jon. (hit that subscribe button :-)
You are killing it man! I'm almost done with the nimbus 2000 which will double up as my mother's Christmas gift. I would like to thank you for taking your time out for the original 2000 video.
Joe, I would love to see a pic of your final product. If you have time could you shoot me a few to jonsdiy@gmail.com Thanks Jon (don't forget, you could win the 2001 and give that one to your mom as well)
Fantastic job on the build! Just a minor nitpick: Just because Slytherin is the only house referenced to use this broom, doesn't necessarily make it "Slytherin's broom" any witch or wizard is allowed to own any broom they can afford.
I find it quite interesting that you are able to see the way the designers made the broom mimic the the house that uses this broom (slytherin) and the snake-like person who bought them (lucius). To be very honest as a die hard potter fan I don't think I ever truly noticed it until you pointed it out, when I was younger the only thing that really stood out to me was the fact it was a shiny black which just made me think of death eaters, I learn something new every day! The broom looks lovely and shows how much work went into it!
Hey Jon. You just made a really nice work. In the movie, the tail starts being black, and then turns green-brown at the end, but it is good. I love what you did and I want it. Thanks for all.
@@JONSDIY i probably shouldnt enter as i live in England and it will cost a fortune to ship sadly. But keep posting great videos! The more harry potter the better!
This is absolutely stunning and I LOVE it! I wish I had been watching RUclips tutorials years ago... I am a mom of 6 and my kids are sincere fans of all things Harry Potter! I know that they would love a replica like this. I, however, know that I don't have any of the skills you possess in order to make them. I do wish you sold them, but I understand that they might not make the necessary money for all the work/effort you put into them. They are truly fantastic though and I loved watching your tutorial. Thank you for sharing your talents and ideas with us. Take care and stay safe!
Are you saying you bought a Noble copy? Fishing string might work. Kind of plastic feeling right? You should ask Wyatt The Griffindor how he likes his. He just won the one you watched in this video. Thanks for you comment. Jon
I really want to win this broom because I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter but I don't have enough money for buying the original one and my parents don't think it's worth it so they don't buy it for me. I love your videos especially the ones that are about Harry Potter. Your diys are very interesting and nice. Your my favorite yter!😍🔝 (sorry if there are any errors, I'm not english)
Jenny, the hollow aluminum rod diameter is exactly a half inch. the solid aluminum rod is 3/8 of an inch diameter. Bought at Home depot. Thanks for you comment. Jon
Great video! I would never have enough motivation to complete something like that! And just to be clear you will be posting a second video for the giveaway?
Wyatt, I do and hour here an hour there. Notice all the changes in my clothing. this was not a over night job. I just don't have the time to do all the stuff I want to do in a single day. Yes in this video is the time and date for the giveaway of this broom.
I have watched every video that you have posted. You will not be able to ask a question about Jon's DIY that I can not answer. And I am the HP king of trivia. So to save you some time just go ahead and mail the broom to me. Ok?
@@JONSDIY I have a picture for you please antwortenhier.me/q/Hatten-tom-riddle-und-voldemort-den-gleichen-zauberstab-33607624488 Warm greetings from Germany :)
And I’m not trying to be smart with you but just to freshen up your HP knowledge the Nibus 2001 was designed black and dark just to make Malfoy seem more evil but there is actually nothing evil about the broom itself and is not related to Slytherin
So the individual that won this broom just sent me a pic. He painted the tail black to green. guess if you had won you would be sending me a pic instead of him. :-)
JON'S DIY lol I wasn’t complaining, I just talked about the color of the broomstick because you asked for suggestions. Then if you understand suggestion as bad critical or complaint then you should stop asking for it! Peace!
OMG, I don't think I have ever noticed that. Thanks for the catch, I will fix the thumbnail. As for the prescreen I hope that you can except that I am human.

I think the real one is more black in the bristles and shaft but other than that it looks great!
I work with what I have. Thanks
You have a link to the images you used to shape the head? I cantfind any good ones and I'm trying to make my own broom
I will send you my PDF. hit me up on Facebook
The bristles of the broom are like ebony black but fade into slytherin green in the movie but overall good job.
You’re so cool 😎 how wow 😮 I love Harry Potter

amazing skills and equipment. Now I am facing the challenge to make one for my daughter, with inferior skills and equipment. 😩.
Don't underestimate yourself. I'm a computer geek and I pulled it off.
Would you take commissions on this? To make more ? Thanks for the info!! Great work!

Gotcha, thanks I did not know that. I will change the title.
Great replica the only thing I would say is that the bristles cannot be Brown there'd need to be black
Andrew, agree I also looked at putting a hint of lime green in them with the very end showing a little white. But call me lazy.
I think most people won't have a band saw, drill press and the other big machines
The nimbus 2001 actually has a black green colour
