Do film cameras elicit more cooperation by subjects in street photography than digicams?

- THE SHUTTER GOES CLICK
A recent attempt to shoot street photographs with a Canon SD780 IS digicam got me thinking about my old film cameras and how the embolden me.
When holding a small digicam, I felt too shy to ask strangers if I could take their portrait.
I blog (sometimes) about cameras and taking pictures here: theshuttergoes...
I'm not bold enough to walk up to folks (something I'd like to change) but when I'm out with my film camera it seems to generate interest and has started conversations - something that doesn't happen when I'm out with my mirrorless.
I hadn't posted anything about cameras in a long while - and felt I needed to do something for the subscribers - but I'm not totally happy about this vid. I'm trying to evolve the visual style and content AND improve the sound. But I'm working through some kinks. I hope you don't mind the scant info-value of this post. All to say, I'm still around and thinking of you...Really. Have fun taking photos.
