LORA is a very long distance (low bandwidth) technology. Line of sight can be 10 km easy.

I have one and really like it except I cannot get it to work with a battery. Ugh.

I have one made in 2020 it has version 3.01 is this the older one ? , i just put it together and its wonderful and yes it is not forgiving

3.01 is the software version. There are two hardware versions that I'm aware of. The first version had the external paddle input pointing towards the front of the Morserino (parallel to the in-built paddles). The second hardware version has the external paddle input from the left side.
You can update the software even if you have the first hardware version.
