  • The future World Champion Robert Fischer gives a masterclass in effective mobilization of all pieces and creative attack. First, his central pawn crosses the center of the board and cramps the enemy pieces. Then he transfers all minor pieces to the kingside, exerting a tremendous pressure on the enemy king. And finally, he sacrifices a piece to open the h file, after which his rooks join the attack. As a result, all his pieces take part in the attack and checkmate the enemy king.

For me, it was his greatest game. Better than the game of the century.

For want of a single tempo, White's Queenside attack was lost.
    Ice cold attack by Fischer
