Hi Jansen, I'm a pretty good caster with both multiplyer and fixed spool but have to admit fixed spool in the dark has the edge because when the lead hits the line stops no over runs, you can really give it some with no worries, cheers Nik, Portland, Dorset..
When setting the mag for fishing , how long do you like the spool to spin for so its safe to cast some say 7 secs some say 10secs etc what your thoughts please or can you do a vid of setting a reel up for fushing with
Great video thanks. Just purchased my first multiplier from you guys a few days ago. Can I ask do you need backing if goong straight mono? And if so do you use a different breaking strain for the mono
I think I’m missing the bit of why the cross hatching helps to balance the spool instead of balanced winds either side of centre. The static balancing aspect is interesting as the spool shouldn’t come to rest in the same place each time it is spun and this would be a good indication of a balanced spool. As always a very watchable presentation.
Because the spool on a fixed spool reel doesn't rotate then balancing it not an issue. Some older Fixed spools used to have poor line profiling which needed to be adjusted but most modern fixed spools give perfect line lay straight from the box :-)
The reel featured is now discontinued, but this is an improved version- www.veals.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000002.pl?WD=fathom&PN=Penn%2DFathom%2DII%2D%2D%2DFTHII12SD%2DMag%2Dbrake%2D19%2Ehtml#SID=106
Dean I purchased a Akios Battle 666 From you guys I am having a great deal of trouble with the dual tensioners and being able to set the weight and bait balanced with the tensioners I try to follow directions included with the real but can’t bring about balance with a 4 ounce bait and weight Not sure if I’m doing the procedure correctly to check balance Love to see a video on setting up a shuttle 666 out of the box using actual weight thanks

Thanks for info on vibration. I thought my bearings were worn although only used 6 times from new. Will give this a try👍
It's kind of like balancing your car wheels when a new tyre is fitted. A balanced reel will run a lot smoother!

Any ideas on a slosh 30 mate every cast is birds nest. I'm out of ideas why, I've stripped it re spooled but nothing changes
Add more or bigger brake blocks, and try putting thicker oil in the bearings
Hi what is the rod you are using thanks 🐟
Another great Video by dean 👍👌 #vmo
Superb...cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks
Nice one deano 👌🏻🤙🏻
Some people use fixed spools what about them?

Hi Tom. All you need to do is adjust the end float tensioners so there is the tiniest amount of sideways play in the spool.
empted a full 6500.and i mean full at fleetwood 1996
Never have to worry about overruns when you can empty the spool.
