      @@laurlaurbunnie Yes! However make less rows :) I suggest googling a hat sizing chart and measuring tape. As soon as you know the circumference around your head for example mine is 22”, then you can know the width for the circle ~7” and the length of the hat ~8-9” :)

      @@laurlaurbunnie yes so do everything the same just stop adding rows after your circle is 6.5” in width. Then continue when in the tutorial I go in the front loops only and make enough rows so that when you fold the hat in half the length from the top to the bottoms is about 7.75-8 inches and then go to the last part where I go in the front loops only again. See if you want to add all the rows I did, or if you want to do one less row on that part I recommend doing the 4 stitches and inc, 6 stitches and inc, and the 8 stitches and inc but leave out the 10 stitches and inc. make sure to finish your hat with one row of no inc like I did!

      I have a question. For the increases, do I just do two HDC in one stitch for all the rows or do the number of HDC determine the amount of HDC in the increase? I'm sorry if it's a confusing question. When you would start your 3-23 rows, you would jump cut as soon as you started an increase.

    One suggestion for future tutorials, say the stitch count after each row and what rows you placed the details on. My hat turned out a little too big and I think I might have added a few extra stitches throughout somehow but I wouldn't have known because I didn't know how many stitches it was supposed to be.
    The ears and horns ended up being pretty crooked because I had to do if by eye and didn't have a good way to see where it would end up exactly as I was sewing it.
    Overall, it looks really cute but it just doesn't fit me which is a little disappointing.

I wanna ask if I do so, will the other next rows be affect, like from row 19 (in your pattern), will it get changed or affected somewhat? Should I change it from 4 HDC to a bigger number? Thank you so much for this video ❤️

    Also, tell us how many stitches you should have at the end of each round? That way, I can double-check when I'm done with one round. And also when you switch colors, just a little more explanation about that. I was trying to follow along with the video an it got a little confusing.
    I think it's the third round. You started to switch color but could you explain like? How many stitches of the white did you do before you switched to the black? And how many stitches of the black did you do before you switched back to the white?

    • @gabriellemcauley9827
      @gabriellemcauley9827  Год назад +2

      Hi! Each row adds 8 stitches, so we start w 8hdc into a magic circle, row 2 should have 16, row 3 should have 24, row 4 should have 32, row 5 should have 40, etc. When it gets to the brim, it won’t end on an inc anymore, it will end more randomly. For the colors, each hat will be unique and you can make the spots however you like, it was not a good use of my time to explain every color change because it’s about getting creative and however you do them it can’t be messed up. My advice is to change to black 1-3 stitches before you get to the black part of the previous row, to grow the spot, and 1-3 stitches before the blackspot ends to make it smaller, but have fun with it! I hope this helps

SO do we do the 6? Or do you jump right from 4 to 8? Which pattern is correct? I did the 6 and the math isnt adding up to meet me back at my stitch marker, Im always a few stitches short. I did row 10 so I have 80 stitches around, But 4HDC , INCH back to the stitch marker is only 78 stitches so you have 2 HDC left over

      I would find a chart for a toddler hat, using their head circumference to see how big the crown of the hat and the length should be. Then use my pattern but with less rows so that it matches the chart for sizing.
