E.g Jerusalema, Twala Bam etc. but looking back at legends like Brenda, Chaka Chaka, Lucky Dube they had presence and were never forgotten maybe now it because they bring only vibes that is just trends

      I think south africans are used doing things for themselves not to go globally. Maybe its our past. But that time is over, watch the space!!! 3. South africans made amapiano popular , It started to trend during lockdown on tiktoks then it was southern african DJ who started having amapiano gigs in UK and Nigerians started jumping in.. its like catching a taxi that is already heading to a mall .
    4. Biggest amapiano songs in SA and abroad actually are those ones with no Nigerian feature on them ...eg Mnike, Tshwala etc so lets not lie to each other
    5. South africa is the biggest music market in Africa artists makes profit here because we support and purchase music so no Nigerians brought amapiano to the markert for that matter

      It's not South African house music, but a whole urban culture with deep history is ealier sub cultures. Unless you'll also say Afrobeats is just Nigerian Dancehall.
      They mainly sing in native languages, just because you don't understand doesn't mean that there is no emphasis on lyricism it depends on the artist.
      Nigerians didn't improve anything musically or culturally with Amapiano, what they did is help with global marketing because Afrobeats was trending as a genre. In fact it's the opposite, Amapiano fusion added a new burst of flavour to Nigerian Afrobeats i.e. Asake
      Lastly, Tyla is not Amapiano or Afrobeats but has benefitted from both genres

    Both countries are running ama piano. Without South Africa there will be no ama piano and without Nigeria ama piano will remain a south African local beat.

    • @lebo5281
      @lebo5281 2 месяца назад +2

      @emmanuelayodele7901 You are absolutely wrong. It was the Southern African diaspora that first hosted Amapiano parties in the UK and had our DJs touring there. Nigerians took the now annoying hard log drum and fused it into their own, they didn't export SA amapiano, they merely capitalised on what was already a moving train.
      Nigerians can never be ambassadors for dance music, and DJs in dance music play in those circles not necessarily global superstars.
      The covid pandemic lockdown and social media especially the balcony mixes, promoted amapiano.
