      WOW! That is an EXCELLENT SUGGESTION! Yes! I'd love to see that! That would be right on topic! I've been complaining a lot since the new pre-orders and stuff, along with the price hikes and box changes and stuff, I suspect we're being ripped off and mistreated in some regards, and a video like that might really showcase if that is the case or not!

  • @aFoxyFox.
    @aFoxyFox. 2 года назад +3

    During the premiere chat I was mentioning the minority of "plain" type figures that I've sometimes liked or wanted or otherwise have purchased. Paladin is one that I've often considered but haven't gotten yet. I got Union Jack who is kind of plain or simple, and I've considered Mafex X-Force Deadpool or whatever, the light gray Deadpool figure, because I really like the shape of the head and eyes and the appearance of the features (for as much as they seem to appear underneath the mask, the structure of the face), but I'd be paying a huge amount for what sort of amounts to a head on a simple body. I really like when more work and effort is put into a product, or it at least appears very impressive, but once in a while a simple figure can satisfy whatever it is that interests me or is somehow desired, and usually it is the head sculpt that can be good enough that it covers for the deficiencies or lack of much interesting color or detail or differences in the body.
    For example I like the old Marvel Legends Puck Wave Sabretooth who has a pretty simple costume overall but a head sculpt and face that I really like, and then there is the Gamerverse wave male Captain Mar-Vell figure that I like for some reason (probably mainly the head sculpt and hair), while the simplicity of figures like the yellow and green male symbiotes mentioned in this video are really disappointing to me as compared to a line of figures that was released in the 90s of the various Symbiotes, and they are each very unique and eccentric seeming, which I enjoyed a lot.
    A video on some of the very simplest designs that you actually liked, and disliked, might be an interesting one, to see what factors are involved in ending up liking things or disliking things when their designs have very little involved overall. As far as I can tell, one of the major factors involved for me is when the heads appear cool enough to overcome the simplicity of the bodies, but if a body is too simple, it can sometimes make the head seem like it isn't worth it.
    Oh yeah, I was wondering if anyone remembers the name of that group that has all the armored characters?
    I like to use my one Vault Guardsman figure as a singular villain and robber, and I like the simplicity of that design.
    "A new Guardsman, Ozkar Waters, appears during the King in Black tie-in miniseries Planet of the Symbiotes. He is a mercenary for Alchemax and father of Bren Waters (the new host of the Toxin symbiote).[12]"
    Maybe you could do the King in Black and Planet of the Symbiotes stories at some point if you haven't already.

    Big Bad Toy Store just made available the new Thor Wave figures and the fleshy arms and joint areas, particularly on the sleeveless civilian Thor figure, look kind of gross! Like the part where the elbow is on the inner side of the arm. I think I might be passing on everything from that wave which I will look at more now! That was the main one I had been interested in but the arms in the images are really noticeable.

      Wow, you're definitely so lucky to have found David's channel, he is the best, friendliest, and most down to Earth and responsive of all the collecting channels, he mingles with the people and the comments and discusses things directly with the audience, which is very different from the other channels who appear more cut-off and distant from their audience and all the viewers and comments, staying aloof.
      What do you collect and plan on collecting? I often joke about how all of us collectors seem to wear black shirts and have facial hair lol and your display picture also makes it seem like you're really just like all of us here, which is fun, I've never known a group of people so similar to myself as David or the community here!

      If we can somehow get more traffic and funds to David's channel, he can make all sorts of wacky videos without worrying too much about how interested people are in the content, though I'd love that myself! Bigger channels can afford to just talk about whatever mostly without necessarily catering to the more popular or likely to be clicked topics!

  • @jakemorgan9849

    Hey david I was wanting your opinion on whether I should preorder the knull and venom 2 pack??

    • @aFoxyFox.
      @aFoxyFox. 2 года назад

      I think David's general advice remains the same for all questions like this! If you like it and can afford it without any issues, then you should get it, and if you don't like it or care for it, can't afford it, or it causes issues like space issues or a strain, then forget about it! Or was that my advice? Sometimes I can't tell us apart!
      I don't think they will be releasing a separate Knull figure any time soon, so if you're interested in Knull, that is the one to go for, nor will be they be releasing a winged Venom separately. I don't mind the Knull as much as I initially did (due to the simplicity of the colors and design, which was sort of boring for me), but I want that Venom with the comic paint, and I don't mind the extra holes too much where the wings go in, so for now I have it pre-ordered, sort of not with the most intense enthusiasm or interest though, more just to have a normal kind of Venom, since I don't have one.
      The same goes for why I ordered the Spider-Man 2-Pack, because I don't have Spider-Man in any normal form yet, and I only have two Diamond Select versions which are maybe a bit too large, and the Velocity Spider-Man and the What If? Spider-Man, and so this would be my one "iconic" or "standard" version, with the larger eyes as compared to the squinty eyes that I don't like too much (an older design similar to the 60s comics and cartoon). Again, my enthusiasm is sort of limited, though I'm pretty excited about seeing Venom and Spider-Man together, whereas Knull will go towards my fantasy and Vampire sorts of figures, and Mary Jane will be part of my hero coupling, since I have Rescue with Iron Man and other "couples", like Captain Carter with Captain America and stuff like that.
      I'm curious as to why people tend to ask David or others "should I buy this?"
      What exactly are people asking when they ask a question like this? Are people typically asking "is it of a good value for re-sale?" or is one typically asking "if I don't get this, will it be hard to obtain later?" or what exactly?
      People should buy what they like, based on assessing their feelings, thoughts, and excitement about things, if the figures excite the mind and make one happy, then that would be a good reason to desire them, but if one has to ask another person to make the decision for them, then there probably isn't too much real interest or excitement in the figures and they can be skipped. When you really like something, I think you'll know, and will feel it, and be like "Wow! That is so cool! I want it! I want it for this reason and this reason and because it looks really cool and I think that any time I'll see it, it will make me feel happy and I'll be like wow! Awesome! I'd even like to play with the figures! I want to pose them, I want to make them fight with other figures, and set them up in scenes, yeah!"
      If those sorts of thoughts or feelings aren't occurring, then maybe you can save some money, no matter how expensive these become later, because who cares (unless it is a business people have made where they buy these for a lower cost and sell them for a higher cost later)?
      So, I don't know if David can really answer questions like these! When he has been asked by people, he typically seems to respond in brief with something amounting to meaning "If you like it, if you want it, and it isn't a problem, then get it", because, he doesn't know what people like, we all have our tastes and feelings and thoughts about things, and that is how most of us tend to decide if we like and want a product (which amounts to a kind of play-thing and home decoration for the most part).
      For example, I personally dislike the Toad, so even though I might have wanted a Toad figure, since I don't like how this new release of Toad looks as compared to older versions, I am skipping the purchase of this Toad, that is because I wouldn't enjoy spending money on it and seeing it around among my things, it just doesn't look good or right to me, but even though I'd skip it due to my own tastes, another person (as many people seem to be saying) may feel differently, and actually really like the design (and I like to know when this is the case too, since it interests me as to what people see in things that cause them to like a thing whereas I dislike the same thing).
