The underlying joke is that parents of kids in the inner city try to be as creative as possible with names, and try to create names that no one else would possibly have. I knew a family that named their children Sean, DaSean, KeShaun, and LaShawndra (daughter).
There's an even better substitute teacher skit, where Keegan plays a teacher with a ponytail and Jordan is the class clown student, highly recommend. Also, the one where they act white in the improv and acapella groups.
"You done messed up, A-A-Ron!" I swear this was a common phrase for me for many years, and it still pops up. My friends names Aaron or Jacqueline have never been the same.
I don’t know if y’all can get Paramount+ over in the UK; but you should check out their commercial that’s based on this skit 😂, and Keegan is the one doing Mr. Garvey
The joke on this is a lot of "inner city" students have unusual names, where the emphasis is placed on the first letter. Like "D'marcus" and things like that. This makes a play on that, as he taught in the "inner city" he has a much different attitude than typical teachers. FYI, there is a second one of this. I've been trying to think of skits of theirs to suggest, but its just too hard, they're all so good, so just take your time and go through them all.
“Ultimate Fighting Goes to the Next Level” is a must watch. also “Okay” and “Meegan and Andre Go to the Movies” which I mentioned previously. Peele is a master at playing a woman!

Key did a similar character on Mad TV called Coach Hines. Those sketches are all great, Basketball is a favorite, though I'd start with the Assembly one.
You guys may have missed the final joke which is great because you were laughing so hard. Ha! I think you thought Peele said "here" but he "preesent" instead of present. Full hilare!!!
You guys should check out their sketch “Meegan and Andre go to the movies”, I haven’t seen a ton of people react to it, but it is ridiculously funny. 👍
Two thoughts. There is a longer version of this skit that you really need to find and watch. The extra minutes are pure gold. And as an alumnus of BYU, I have to say your comment about this classroom being from an all-white school and then referencing BYU could not be more incorrect. It is in fact nothing but a tired old stereotype that the student body at BYU is all white when in fact the student body there comes from more than a hundred different countries.
