I would love to see a video on what tips you have as a more experienced skater to brand new skaters! I know i have a lot of trouble when I see more experienced skaters who are much younger than me, and feel like I am very far behind in comparison. Thanks for the great video!
you have no idea how much this inspires me. I'm 15 and I've never even skated before, but I really want to become a figure skater. I used to play soccer 2 years back but I couldn't because I was scared to play with the other girls on my school's team (they made fun of me because I always was a defender rather than offense, so I wasn't used to scoring goals and such so I failed a lot) and since then I've really let myself go to the point where I can barely leave my bedroom because of how sad I am with my life and where it's heading. but watching your videos really inspire me to get my lazy ass up and work out and try these exercises so when I do finally get into shape again I won't be COMPLETELY awful when I try figure skating lol.
Merry Maurader I’m pretty sure it’s not you if you check her Channel it shows the same face yikes you wished you know how to skate 🤷🏻♀️ I’m younger and I’m not a beginner like you! :)
For any ice skater about how many times a week or what days do you usually meet with your coach, do group lessons, and practice by yourself? Isn't getting a coach expensive? I went to see one a couple days ago and it was $50 for 30 minutes... 0.o The other coaches available are about in the same price range.
do you have any videos for learning to better your back scratch spins...i'm just learning them and it would be awesome to see a breakdown and maybe explained in a different perspective.
It really depends on your body, for example, I have a high metabolism, so I could eat more of what I want more often, but if you exercise a lot like most skaters, you can mainly eat whatever, just still have some healthy food
Hockeygirl vlogs&more um even if u have high metabolism, you still have fat and bad things in your body it just doesnt show the fat. having fast metabolism isnt an excuse not to exercise, exercising isnt only about losing fat its about gaining strength too
Katie can you make a video on single Axel and explain about the arms and legs cross. I almost have it but have hard time with the tightness of arms and legs. To answer questions regarding the age for Ice Skating, It is never to late to have fun. Keep moving!!⛸😄 I started figure skating at 43 years old and now I am stronger and having Fun. I am 61 years old and almost have my Axel. Thank you for everything. 🌺🤗
Omg im so fascinated by ice skating and ice skaters I always wonder "how do they do it?" But I hope that one day I'll be able to compete in an ice skating competition in the future that is my dream
9869th subscriber here! I was just thinking of finding tips about spins and rotation and this saved me so so much time. Definitely going on my playlist. Thanks, katie!!!
Can you please make a video on how to spin faster and longer? Whenever I spin I tend to loose momentum and my spin is short-lived so I would love for some tips on that.
Could you do another Q&A video? I'm 15 (half a year away from 16) and I really want to start, but I'm scared I'm too late to ever skate as good as you. I doubt I will never land a triple if I start now anyway. Do you have any advice? I sent you a message on insta too in case you don't read this :) love your skating, and your videos, keep it up! Gracie xx
Grace Reed and here is another "me". Look, at 14 I though it was late, at 17 I thought it was too late and cry watching the olimpics.. if its really your dream, stop questioning if you can, if you start now and dont give up, in ten years youll be a coach or an olimpic... dont doubt yourself, I am twenty four now, so I know what I am talking about. Plus, I refuse to sit down until 34 and regret it again. I hope my story clicks with you so that you get up and trust yourself, you can get really good.
I am 15 and I started group lessons two months ago, and I am already working on my single salchow. It is never too late! Just practice, practice, practice.
Grace Reed I'm 25, and I'm in my third season of skating and only started figure skating att he end of last season and now I can jump a waltz jump, toe loop and salchow, spin, sit spin and sit spin variations. I taught most of it to myself, because there is a lack of advanced adult skating groups at my rink. Just practice a lot and you will soon see great improvements!
My dream is to be a figure skater and i feel like i could do it but the only figure skating rink where there are coaches is 2 hours away from me.Still i want to do something about it and until then i'm working on strengthening my arms and legs,become more flexible and stuff like that!
Diddyyap get fit, then youll figure out the distance problem. Never give up on your dream, or you might end up regreting it for ten years like I did, crying while watching the olimpics. you can do it.
Zuramama I promise that if you keep practicing you'll get it and stop being scared. Trust me, that's what happened to me with my waltz jump etc. Practice makes perfect!
Hey there! This is the thing: I suck at sports, I am 24, no flexibility... But I want to be as good as youre because figure skating has been my passion for too long. Where would you start to ensure you get your body ready for joining lessons after a year or less? Would you start working on your flexibility first? your core? strengthten your legs? Please help me figure out how to start with baby steps while I prepare myself mentally to go for bigger steps
Join lessons now. Basics don't take any endurance,flexibility or strength. While your learning basics work on everything so when the time comes you can do the elements needed to use that you will be ready.
I have only ever been on ice once in my life , I wasn't wearing figure skates . But I would loveeeeeeee to figure skate , ps what rink do u skate at andddd what school or classes do u take? Plz answer me xoxo
Hey there! I love your videos c; Heres a tip: I would try to use some instrumental music in the background when you're speaking/have a voice-over as it can sometimes be overwhelming for the ears c;
When I try to do a single jump of ice, I always lean to the side when I land (losing my balance when I land) , and I can't turn properly. Do u have any tips?
Hi, the music mix that you used at the beginning of the video - did you make it by yourself or take it from youtube. If you took it from somewhere, can you tell me where did you find it?
I would love to see a video on what tips you have as a more experienced skater to brand new skaters! I know i have a lot of trouble when I see more experienced skaters who are much younger than me, and feel like I am very far behind in comparison. Thanks for the great video!

do you have any videos for learning to better your back scratch spins...i'm just learning them and it would be awesome to see a breakdown and maybe explained in a different perspective.
And we thought Katie was good a year ago!!!
as a figure skater, what diet do you lead to keep your body at the best condition it can be?
Claire Johnston limit the junk food but when you start skating and training everyday you get to kind of eat whatever you want
Eat whatever you want; you will burn the calories
It really depends on your body, for example, I have a high metabolism, so I could eat more of what I want more often, but if you exercise a lot like most skaters, you can mainly eat whatever, just still have some healthy food
@Hey What's Up
That doesn't mean your body will be healthy and/or get any nutrients out of it.
Hockeygirl vlogs&more um even if u have high metabolism, you still have fat and bad things in your body it just doesnt show the fat. having fast metabolism isnt an excuse not to exercise, exercising isnt only about losing fat its about gaining strength too

Most likely not the Olympics or Disny but smaller companions or even Reginals might be possible if you work hard.
