Looks like the 1:24 FMS Atlas my wife has, but with a different cab & the electronics seem a bit better. Watch out for strippage on those plastic gears, especially the middle one...

Atlas is actually 1/18. And the only difference is the cab, tires and like you said electronics.
You can use the metal transmission gears for the cr18p. You can buy them from fairRC if they sell in your region. You might be able to use the metal diff gears but I’m not sure.
@@JUSTHAVEFUNRC pricey but the Furitek monster truck metal ring and pinions are a direct swap for the Atlas axles.

Same mechanics as the "old" FMS Atlas 6x6, but a different body & wheels, and the same combo receiver/ESC as the HobbyPlus CR-18 P, which is a very good thing.
Same price for both (this rig and the Atlas 6x6). This one is low speed capable (not the Atlas), so, it is a good bargain.
The only thing is the Atlas looks better.
Completely agree Atlas looks alot better. Also how come it's taken FTX 2 years to bring it out when FMS brought the Van out a few months back.

Love this little truck, i did manage to kill the plastic gears in the gearbox though, full metal gears were literally £7.50 and 20 mins to fit. One of my faves.
The atlas 6x6 is the same truck with different electronics I wish it had metal gears and more low end control but I still love it

Metal gears part number is ftx9426. That is for main gearbox not axles.
6x6 seems like a good idea but there are times, usually when things are cramped, that they just don't work as well. The of course there are times it does work very well indeed. Nifty little truck though.
Think those plastic gears are derlin plastic which is considered self lubricating, it contains teflon PTFE fibres .It becomes greasy as it warms so it shouldn't require added grease. Wouldn't of thought it would be put under much stress either to get that warm.

That is 100% a rebranded fms atlas. Both of these cars have an issue where the metal part of the 2 piece pinion strips out the plastic part. Aside from that, this truck is an absolute weapon!

@matthewwhitby5368 I bought one because so many youtubers recommended it saying how good it was. Well, it's not. very underpowered yet still managed to twist the driveshaft like a twizzler and snap it. Esc took a dump a week later after i fixed the drivshaft. I took the body off and put it on a panda hobby rig. I have a hard time wanting to buy anything from Rochobby anymore. I want the Chevy blazer, but damn Idk if it's actually good or not.
Superb I would love to get back into rc cars but I have no space for anymore models....
I might get one of these little 1/18 unimogs.

This one is really cool, it’s based on the deuce and a half(American army truck (m35a2)) and/or an old 5-ton
7:01 I made a little track out of scrap pieces from around my shop like that. My slats are closer together and it's tricky because if you go too fast you bounce off and lose control.....worked out well.

The ecx barrage has the same drive train but it has brass gears
Why do so many things about it look like the FMS Atlas? Not the fact it's a 6x6, but little things like rear lights, battery placement, and mounting holes on the cage.
Think I had that watch about 40 years ago. JK...Nice retro look

I've bought the Apache and actually like the looks of this one better. Well, I like the cab of the Apache but not the bed. This one looks more military though.

It's a fms atlas it's exactly the same thing besides the front cab but even the way it opens, the exhaust everything is the atlas

You can put the fms Portals on it. Hobbyplus portals would likely work even better.

The scaling on these is off entirely. But that's most likely bc it is based on a 1/18th chassis
The unimog and truck are most likely 1/24th or 28th scale
Unimogs are quite massive

to be honest for the same price and an extra set of wheels to keep it well priced metal gears would have been too expensive with the extra set of wheels

Its fairly new in the hobbyplus line too but amain and motion rc in the states have recently added it so us market will get 1 version atleast almost expected to see it w an rgt name too but havnt yet

At least the rear axle with steering. But both rear axles steering would be super cool.
It will work there's a guy that has two brushless mofo Bamm Motors in a 6 wheel drive and all six wheels turn I take it you just woke up mofo bam motor you'll find it

Well now we know why FMS quit using these electronics in the Smasher!!!! It is nice that it is not a screamer like the atlas!!!👍👍👍
The smasher esc is not the same as what comes in the atlas. And this esc is different from any of the fms esc.
True, but the first version of the Max Smasher came with the same version of electronics that the FCX24 came with, which is the same as this FTX.
This radio gear (MG41 + R4A) doesn't come with the fcx24 Power Wagon anymore either, it now comes with 3 channel gear(G3 + R3A V1) that has no drag brake adjustment, fwd/rev option ,spare channel or extra lighting connections.
The Max Smasher/Smasher originally had the radio gear that's in this review, then changed to the shitty G3 + R3A V1, but now has the G3 + R3A V2 which looks identical to the V1 but has drag brake adjustment and choice of fwd/rev or fwd/brk/rev.
I just bought a fcx24 Power Wagon and then returned it for this reason, all the extra esc functionality is now missing. Just bought a Sixer, at least it will have drag brake adjustment.
I really liked the Power Wagon, it's a shame FMS ruined it by downgrading the radio equipment.

Hopefully you can mod the steering a bit for better turning. The double axles at the back will resist the steering somewhat.
