Because it’s the dragons choice not peoples choice lol and it describes in the book that dragons think riders who can’t keep a seat aren’t a worthy rider but it shows in the book that Tairn accommodates to Violet and her needs which is unusual for a dragon, but Tairn cares more about her mind then her physical abilities but most other dragons care about the aggressiveness and strength hence not going to adapt to suit their rider
Except the dragons need the humans to help protect the Vale, so killing off riders willy nilly is still really short sighted and doesn't make any sense.

That's interesting. I never thought of the lack of saddles as weird because they have a built in saddle and the point is to be strong enough to hold on, and free to dismount quickly qnd fight. Her saddle is an accomodation to her disability
yeh but I never understood why her disability means she needs a saddle of all things. Everyone needs a bloody saddle. She has problems with her joints not her muscles. She should be strong enough to hold on with her thighs, like others do too. what she SHOULD be avoiding with her disability is literally everything else she CONTINUES to do, like the. heavy impact exercises, fighting on the mat, jumping around etc.
This book it’s literally (don’t even have words) the last death of part one broke me more than anything else I’m still mourning over a fictional character 💔😭!
For me, the saddle thing feels like kind of a dragon/eugenics type thing? 😅 basically the dragons and the school (being shitty as they are) think that if you don’t have the skill or strength to fly bare back, you don’t deserve to be a rider. Which really spoke to me as someone with Violet’s condition
I personally love the book and I especially love the part that she didn't want to kill people and the reason why I love that part because if you truly think about people who go to war and most of them don't want to kill people which is why they have PTSD so at least in this book is being put out there and show that not everybody who goes to war wants to be a killer
Yes best part of this video is when you said “ when she introduced Dian I was like Gale Hawthorne is here” I totally agree and could not stop laughing and don’t see Dian the same anymore
When it comes to her not wanting to kill people: it's not a pet peeve of mine, cause you have to remember she NEVER WANTED to be a rider and she was FORCED to become one thanks to her mom - she then worked with her situation and is learning to adapt
Yall when she said “The high lord of the night court is here”, I died ✋🏼💀😭😂 What she mean by this sentence is that in ACOTAR (also a book series) the ml can wield shadow like Xaden. Also his name is RHYSAND✨
YES The saddle. If violet gets a saddle why can't they all get saddles. There is no way anyone would be able to hold on during the battle moves the dragons make! lol
Thing is though the whole point was that she didn’t want to go the the riders quadrant and kill people she wanted to be a scribe so the hesitation to kill makes sense
It’s not inventing a saddle it’s most dragons being of the mindset that if they can’t keep their seat then they aren’t worthy. Xaden didn’t invent anything, he knew that Tairn would prefer violet being safe because he didn’t choose her for her physical strength but her intelligence
My favourite phrases were "my jaw practically unhinges" and "my eyebrows hit my hairline." Both appeared about 5 times each and every time it took me out.
The only reason Violet did not want to take a life is because she was trained for the scribe quadrant and not the rider’s quadrant. Her reluctance to take a life is what makes it so realistic.
The girl terrified of killing and once she finally kills does the love interest always has to comfort her, it always gets on my nerves, but fourth wing is so good that i gof passed it quickly
Apparently, it took humans thousands of years to invent the saddle. But if they have it for horses or something then applying one to a dragon should be obvious.
😂😂😂 as much as I love 4wing everything in this video is accurate and hilarious! The saddle thing really had me and my coworker (both of us are neurospicy) reeling at the idea that no one else thought a saddle was a great idea 😂😂😂😂
I thought about that too but then I thought deeper and I realized that Violet's dragon protects her because she's going to be a great warrior one day and the dragon know it and maybe bcoz of this he wore the saddle and we all know the rest of the dragon hate human so yeah 😅
I got gifted this book and now I’m scared Edit: This book is so entertaining. It's not amazingly written and is definitely trope heavy but it' a fun read. I hate the nickname violence though.
Thank you for the saddle thing!!!! For a while I was thinking 'Oh the dragons themselves must not like wearing them, because surely the military have thought about remedying the fact that so many riders are just falling to their deaths, right?' Nope. There is no problem at all with Violet having a saddle built for her by her dragon and her love interest. The dragon is fine with it. Hell, he was even able to advise how best to construct it to suit his own comfort levels!!!!!
I'm so conflicted about this book. I flew through it but at the same time it was so full of cliches and also very unoriginal in many ways. Tbf I think the no saddles thing is because the dragons would bbq them before the idea finished forming in their heads. Tain is a saint lol
She got forced into the war college... no kidding she doesn't wanna kill people immediately she just wanted to read her books in the archives 😂
Yes, to all of this! My other issue was the scalp prickling when Xaden was in the room. Wtf
Okay but this one makes sense as soon as you read iron flame 😅
They never put a saddle because it was against the pride of a dragon but violets dragon was kind of supportive
My 6 year old niece is named Violet and her brothers call her violence too, and when they do, she hits them😂
I personally love the book and I especially love the part that she didn't want to kill people and the reason why I love that part because if you truly think about people who go to war and most of them don't want to kill people which is why they have PTSD so at least in this book is being put out there and show that not everybody who goes to war wants to be a killer
THE ENDING!!!😂😂😂😂💀
Yes best part of this video is when you said “ when she introduced Dian I was like Gale Hawthorne is here” I totally agree and could not stop laughing and don’t see Dian the same anymore
My pet peeve was how many times the F bomb was used... even her DRAGON started saying it! Felt like an unnecessary way to make her seem more tough.
SAME. so unnecessary.
@@ria1110 glad im not alone in that thought! I haven't seen anyone else mention it but it was the most in your face thing about the text!!
When it comes to her not wanting to kill people: it's not a pet peeve of mine, cause you have to remember she NEVER WANTED to be a rider and she was FORCED to become one thanks to her mom - she then worked with her situation and is learning to adapt
Violet sensing her dragon getting it on made me sooooo uncomfy
She didn't want to take a life cuz she was FORCED to go into the Riders Quardrant. So I can completely understand her.
Yall when she said “The high lord of the night court is here”,
I died ✋🏼💀😭😂
What she mean by this sentence is that in ACOTAR (also a book series) the ml can wield shadow like Xaden. Also his name is RHYSAND✨
take a shot everytime she writes “lifted a brow”
i love Violence for her nickname lol
This review is so funny 😭😂 thanks for the commitment and the visual 🤣
“g@le hawthorn is here” and this is my new favorite quote
gale hawthorne 😂
YES The saddle. If violet gets a saddle why can't they all get saddles. There is no way anyone would be able to hold on during the battle moves the dragons make! lol
girl you are hilarious i literally cackled at the visual demonstration
Tho, in her defense, Violet WAS trained her whole life to be a scribe, not a rider
I LOVE YOUR RHYS REFRENCE!!!!
Thing is though the whole point was that she didn’t want to go the the riders quadrant and kill people she wanted to be a scribe so the hesitation to kill makes sense
omg you enacting the whole falling off of dragons is just 😂😂
the saddle is literally the dragon, like they need like fucking chains to stay on i swear
Lord of the night court lol😂😂😂
The introduction of Xaden was like "He's played by Ben Barnes. You're welcome."
IM SO GLAD SOMEONE ACTUALLY SAID IT, BECAUSE I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THINGS
The way you present your case made my day 😂❤️ absolutely love your energy.
Agreed! And the sigh of utter relief when Violet is more tolerable in Iron Flame
Thank you for the visual demonstration, I can't stop laughing
“This high lord of the night court” GIRL ME TOOO XD
Pretty sure she said “climb him like a tree” one time
Twice so far in first book. Haven’t finished it yet.
Ok this was literally SO funny 😂😂
Violence never stuck the landing for me😂😂
I only like the ‘afraid to kill’/‘doesn’t strike to kill’ with Inej Ghafa, because it makes sense, you have backstory, reasoning, character debt.
Omg finally someone said it! I agree with you so much on this, it was so annoying how dramatic she was about killing people
That visual representation had me crying
It’s because the dragons don’t want to wear saddles I think. If their rider needs a saddle, they are unworthy (except for Violet ofc)
why's nobody talking about the usage of "heartbeat".. it IRKED me whenever the word showed up for the XXth time
Every time he called her violence I wanted to scream! It’s not cute😭😭
ive seen so many booktok girls swoon over the nickname but honestly thats one of the most ridiculous nicknames ive ever heard
I've never read the book but my god this was hilarious
Edit: Ive now read the book and its even more funny
The high lord of the night court killed me 😂
Shot every time xaden and his features are described as "perfect" and every time violet measures time in heartbeats
Edit: measures time and distance
I haven’t even read Fourth Wing, but you falling killed me🤣🤣🤣
Apparently, it took humans thousands of years to invent the saddle. But if they have it for horses or something then applying one to a dragon should be obvious.
I really hope in book 3 the society/college has expanded into giving saddles for everyone, and giving conduits on a wrist strap to everyone.
Well to be fair they did also fight on the backs of their dragons which you can’t do if you are strapped into a saddle
😂😂😂 as much as I love 4wing everything in this video is accurate and hilarious! The saddle thing really had me and my coworker (both of us are neurospicy) reeling at the idea that no one else thought a saddle was a great idea 😂😂😂😂
She didn't plan to be a rider, she planned to be a scribe, so that's why she wasn't keen on killing
I thought about that too but then I thought deeper and I realized that Violet's dragon protects her because she's going to be a great warrior one day and the dragon know it and maybe bcoz of this he wore the saddle and we all know the rest of the dragon hate human so yeah 😅
My first thought, fourth wing, shatter me, hunger games, and court of thrones and roses all have a very similar trope
Same! Throw a little bit of divergent in there for the enemies to lovers “let me teach you how to survive” trope and that’s it lol
@@rachelmartinez5057 all have a relationship that doesn't last 😔
@@oliviarose912 oh nooooo 😭😭
Also them allowing the cadets to kill each other when literally needing to have more soldiers for war😭
I got gifted this book and now I’m scared
Edit: This book is so entertaining. It's not amazingly written and is definitely trope heavy but it' a fun read. I hate the nickname violence though.
Thank you for the saddle thing!!!! For a while I was thinking 'Oh the dragons themselves must not like wearing them, because surely the military have thought about remedying the fact that so many riders are just falling to their deaths, right?'
Nope. There is no problem at all with Violet having a saddle built for her by her dragon and her love interest. The dragon is fine with it. Hell, he was even able to advise how best to construct it to suit his own comfort levels!!!!!
gale hawthorne had me cracking up
I'm so conflicted about this book. I flew through it but at the same time it was so full of cliches and also very unoriginal in many ways.
I think it's a really enjoyable while reading but when you think about it afterwards there's just a lot of "meh" moments and quite a few things that are too similar to other books.
Exactly! I'll probably never understand why so many people are obsessed with this book. The romance was too forced IMO.
