He was talking about the manager in the commercial. I didn't catch his name, and my dad passed many years ago before this appeared on RUclips.

@ tuttt99. The actor with the nice tenor singing voice in this classic McDonald's TV commercial from the 1970's is the actor who played Mr. Feltzer on the Jack Klugman/Tony Randall "The Odd Couple" TV show during the 1970's. I can't remember the name of the actor , but his TV character Mr. Feltzer was a member of Felix Unger's "Lexington Avenue Opera Club" on that comedy show.

@ epaddon. Thanks for the information regarding the actor who appeared as "Mr. Feltzer" in "The Odd Couple" TV series and in the classic McDonald's commercial. I had been wondering for years what his name is or was but couldn't find out. I wonder if he started his career as a professional opera singer and later branched out into an acting career. I have never seen him in anything other than "The Odd Couple" TV series and that McDonald's commercial. Do you know if he appeared in any other TV shows or any movies? How old is he now?

Funny, when McDonalds first came out, they showed older men working there like this ad. In fact, early 60's McDonald file pictures (not ad photos) of workers showed men in their 40's to 50's who made the food. Then later years, it was all teenagers that would be shown working there. Most of the ads in the 70's showed happy teenagers enjoying their jobs making McDonalds food. Now most McDonalds have older workers working in them, with a lot of new immigrants as well. I remember working in fast food in the 70's and they did not treat you very well. In the 80's McDonalds had to run ads showing how great it was to work there or have worked there because no one wanted to work there and be treated poorly. Later, McDonalds would change their tune and started treating people better, many articles in the news about that.

They jumped over the counter. And I’m sure when this commercial was being put together there was talk in the boardroom of making sure they didn’t step on the actual counter which is dirty.

We stopped for a coffee last night at the Hope, Canada Mcdonald's. It was absolutely filthy. Drink Machines spilling over and left.. Cups and crumbs and old fries and bits of food all over the floor. The restrooms were worse! I wish I had of had my camera with me. I told my English husband about this ad campaign. When cleanliness was important. I wouldn't have eaten ANYthing there.. It looked so unsanitary. Shame on you Hope Mcdonalds!!!!
