It's a good thing Steve Badger does not TRAIN insurance company adjusters, or they would not have as much money to pay celebrities. Then again, if he did train them, carriers would not need him to defend them as much as they do. So, good for Steve, good for insurance companies, too bad for policyholders.

Excellent debate. My experience with most adjusters is … they don’t want and won’t use the contractors estimate.

Badger is currently writing an exclusion for paper facer damage to iso board. But a prominent carrier engineer, Jim Koontz wrote a paper explaining facer sheet fractures on low slope roof has a decrease in thermal value. WTF

    Question -
"reasonable fixed price". When contractors do that the IC pushes back asking for a detailed price such as Xactimate.
If a contractor bids lump sum as a common practice with his clients, should they have to conform to the estimating gudelines?

His clients hire Donan... That's one thing I have an issue with. These engineers are PAID BY THE CARRIER. Do you think they want to lose that business? Same thing with a lot of IA's.

I do disagree On building code "enforcement"
If there are state building codes in place, they are laws and legislation. If there is no "inspector" then down the line the Judge or jury become the "enforcement".
I learned the hard way from a judge on building code and insurance claims - "Laws are not suggestions of how to do things." So therefore, there is enforcement just not inspection on all state building codes.

There are too many hacks out there. They aren't contractors to begin with.

Man… limiting these conversations is the worst. All to make a video a specific length. What’s the point? Make 2 episodes dude! Not good moderation. Take some lessons from Joe Rogan and let the conversation go. That’s what we want.
