- A little back story on this truck.. So I been on the market for a Ford Lightning for a while but never came across one that met my standards.. Every truck i would find either had high miles or was modded. Till my friend sent me a link of this truck out of state, I messaged the guy and next thing you know I book a flight to go pick it up!
My Pops bought his 01 ⚡ brand new in MN, then moved to FL, was his DD until he got sick then passed away. I recently inherited the truck a few years ago. It's a garage queen now, not driven in winter, only makes an appearance on nice 🌞 days. I will never sell the truck as I have too many memories of me and my dad in there. Just wish he was around to see me/my family now and I know he'd love the changes, upgrades, mods I've done to the ⚡. RIP Pops 😢

They are the best thing ever! I waited on a list for a few months to get mine. Wouldn't come down on the price. First vehicle I bought as a single female I went back and bought the hell out of it.

I'm starting to upload again, life got crazy and my computer had crashed so got a decent gaming laptop and new software which I'm figuring out as I go lol so expect new content.
I had a 2003 SVT Lightning. Loved the truck and now wish I never got rid of it. It was my dream truck also at the time. Crazy how times change because back when the lightning and the SVT cobra Terminator were out 380 and 390 horsepower was ridiculous; but now I'm driving around in a 800 horsepower Hellcat!
If you had a chance would you take back the svt instead of your hellcal?
Congrats on the buy man. . . I don't know what the beef is with high milage/stock lightnings. I picked up a real clean one with 150k mile that was bone stock for $7k that only needed a little upholstery work on the drivers seat. Previous owner was an older gentleman that drove the truck regularly from Austin tx to Dallas. I've seen some pretty beat up lightning with less than 100k miles.
You got a good deal man! And honestly I would prefer a high mileage stock lightning vs a low mileage/ modified one.
All the trucks I had found were modded / molested and just dont trust an old truck that's fixed up lol so I got lucky with mine. What's your plan with the truck ?
@@meboostatv6145 I've kept it stock for the most part besides a CAI a catback exhaust, punisher valvebody, oil separator and a sound system. Future plans is a whipple coyote swap with the 10 speed auto since I love to daily this truck. You should look into cleaning the intercooler and plugging the turkey pan and adding an oil sparator since at 110k mile the intercooler is guaranteed to be caked with oil(sludge) and rotor tefflon.

Thats what kills the gas milage on this this trucks. . . I went on a 1200 mile road trip and I felt like a lil bitch when everyone was passing me on the 85mph speed limit zones, I even got passed by an elderly couple that were doing about 90mph lmao.
Have od on my 03. Was that the first year?
@@mikeortiz9335 4r100 only has 4 gears. Some folks do the 5 speed trans mod others take it as far as a 6 speed manual t56 and others go 6r80 (

MeBoostaTV well ive had the torque converter upgraded already. My main plan right now is getting all the little things back to correctness 🤣 interior trim, cracked windshield etc..probably going exhaust pretty soon. My terminator has borla and i know borla makes a nice set up for our trucks. 👍 how about you?

Go Red lighting! Mine is a 2003 with a monster sound system. The paint ok come on. My baby was abused sitting in the freezing WI weather.2 years. Owned by a girl Doctor. I will never sell the truck from my cold dead hands.
