About the question of where the stereotype of "Africa is dangerous" comes from, for me, I think it's simple. Like you said, there are dangerous parts everywhere, but you know the media, once they notice something negative especially in certain continents or countries, they love to exaggerate. Once they see a certain place in Africa that isn't so wealthy, they exaggerate and make it seem like the whole of that country is like that, once they see that a certain place in Africa is dangerous, they make it seem like the whole of that country is dangerous. Sometimes these stereotypes affects certain people, their mentality and they begin to play into it "if others view me this way, then what makes me think I can be anything better".. even other Africans without realizing, go ahead passing these negative stereotypes to others, their children, people from other countries and other continents etc. Now, I'm not defending anyone or saying this is the case for everyone, I'm just trying to explain some of where I think it might be coming from.
Independence day service in my church was lit. Folks came in their trad outfits, not face paints though. Weddings are really the place where most people celebrate their culture.
They should’ve used Black South Africans. The white man’s comments were very cynical. Also they were only describing the white South African experience of which are a minority in SA.
Some people are very ignorant of the security issues in Nigeria that they tend to either oversimplify or underplay it. Nigeria is very big and towns or cities in states are relatively safer than each other. People party in Lagos every other day, but some towns in the North are dangerous. It still doesn't mean some towns or cities in the North are not safer than some in the South. Insecurity in Nigeria has an external agenda to it and it's a resultant effect of the civil war in Libya. The Nigerian armed forces are doing a lot to fight terrorism. Most states in Nigeria are safe and nobody is shooting everyone or kidnapping everyone. Nigerians in diaspora are as ignorant as the next person. They don't even understand the situation of the country. It's about perspective and living the reality. Africans who are newcomers to Europe or North America actually don't know they are "Black" until they come to North America or Europe or have learned the term from popular culture, social media, etc. The "Black" identity was created by Europeans who created slavery, racism, colonization, etc in order to support their oppression of others. The "Black" term was put on the Africans 400 years ago that were kidnapped to North America, it was put on the Kourri people in Australia, and on the people in South Africa. The Africans in Africa identify by their ethnic group, culture, traditions, thousands of years of history. Therefore the idea of identifying as "Black" is strange and foreign. Because the term Black, which was created by the Europeans slots them into a CASTE SYSTEM that African newcomers have never experienced on the basis of skin color.

Nahh, at all.. I don't know why anyone would say being among the locals isn't safe. Not saying the security in Nigeria is one of the best, but being among the locals is definitely not dangerous. Maybe that person comes from the wealthy part of Lagos and just assumed
“Unless youre white” To break it down a white person will stand out in africa. Many white people are believed to have “money” (colonization effects) so like in Kenya you will be given a higher price “mzungu (white person)price” compared to a local or if toure black with a foreign accent😂.

You both look like typical African. Especially your wife she looks very west African. If it wasn't for the accent I would totally have spoken to you in our vernacular. Love you both 💕
Why do people get the idea that Africa's dangerous? From thousands of years of fighting and battles and witchcraft. The land is wide and wild, and those who don't respect the animals easily become prey. While nature itself often reacts as if She is trying to punish the land. It's said of the red dirt/dust that it's red with the blood of Africa. Poverty & hunger forces ordinary people to rioting; and in many places illnesses like malaria, or certain intestinal worms, kill thousands. Africa is not a series of nice, tidy countries like many European countries are: it's wild and ancient and strewn with traces of once-great civilizations. It holds many secrets. Sure, the cities & suburbs are like suburbs & cities everywhere: shopping malls, coffee places, Macka's, pickpockets, thieves and little old ladies. But 15minutes outside any city in Africa you come face to face with the land stretching out in every direction, and taking so many different forms - it's Mother Africa. And though one might love her with all ones heart, she must also inspire fear and respect. So yes, Africa is violent and ancient & savage. As well as stupendous & magical and full of beauty. That's all the result of her long and turbulent past. And to deny it is never to understand Africa.

Check this Ashanti’s Tradition Marriage you will love it.

Am new to the channel, & I like the content that you guys are spreading out here, but I couldn't help wondering, have you visited the homeland {Africa} yet ? I would love to see that video, if you have that is.
A funeral in Jamaica is a big party these days
Nahh, at all.. I don't know why anyone would say being among the locals isn't safe. Not saying the security in Nigeria is one of the best, but being among the locals is definitely not dangerous. Maybe that person comes from the wealthy part of Lagos and just assumed
I really wish they had a black South African … almost all the answers from the representatives here seemed to annoy me .. I’m sorry 😂
Ghana ❤️❤️❤️
South Africa is a party Nation
“Unless youre white” To break it down a white person will stand out in africa. Many white people are believed to have “money” (colonization effects) so like in Kenya you will be given a higher price “mzungu (white person)price” compared to a local or if toure black with a foreign accent😂.
The South African representation in this video is from the minority.
Been seeing documentaries about the Rwandan Genocide of late and I am shocked at how recent it was and still happened with such brutally. Please educate yourself about it.
We know about Italy are shocked as well.
I don't feel like sour Africa was represented very well we needed someone who's diverse in experience someone who actually explores the different cultures we have but I guess their point was casually made and friendly enough to understand...
You both look like typical African. Especially your wife she looks very west African. If it wasn't for the accent I would totally have spoken to you in our vernacular. Love you both 💕
8:00 too cute 🥰
I’m more afraid to walk around in America than in Nigeria or South Africa
They should have gotten black South Africans to speak for themselves...
😂 the hood is different from Lagos and other part of Nigeria ... Dey play
We Nigerians have that dawg in us ❤❤ Nigeria should probably be called United States of Africa at this point though, cuz all Africans are welcomed here
Facts
Just some support for you.
