- I honestly can't believe it's already been 1 full year since I went fully natural!! It's crazy how time flies... In the video I go over my natural hair story from the beginning, show some never before seen footage of me RIGHT BEFORE my big chop, and share things I've learned over my natural hair journey thus far. It's a chatty one, so bring some wine & enjoy!

Your hair looks great! I am 13 months natural and I love it. At first, I was so insecure abt what I looked like. There were those who hated my look and they told me and some who kinda liked it. I was so conflicted but I didn’t falter. Today I absolutely love my hair. I started following you abt 6 months ago and you and you’re experience has been invaluable. I’m kinda a product junkie but I’m having fun. My hair has grown so much and I can attribute that to being natural. It’s thick, healthy shiny and she gives me life. Thank you for your inspiration. I was saying for the past year that I may go back to a relaxer but now absolutely not.
Terilaine Davis yayyy I love to hear this! congrats on your journey girl. no more relaxer!! 🙅🏽♀️
I keep hearing Rihanna when you talk. Wow you all have some similarities in your voices!
I been binge watching for videos for a whole month now. I love your hair! ❤️ i myself have had a buzz cut for years and never thought id grow my natural hair out...well that till the pandemic hits 😂 i decided i might as well grow do it since i couldnt go to the salon anyway. Its been a year now since my last cut.. i must say that i truly enjoy this journey ✨🥰
New to your channel! LOVE the video!! I big chopped in February 2018 and never looked back. Best decision ever. And I agree that I’ve learned more about ME and I didn’t expect that. Such an exciting journey. You are so beautiful and I love your hair! ❤️
Natural looks good on u girl Periodt ❤❤
Natasha Biersay thank you lovely!
LOVE IT
I big chopped at 4 or 5 months as well couldn't not take it nomore.I got alot of backlash from friwmds n family to but after I did it and was confident in my natural hair rocking it they was like ooookkkkk I like it on u. Girl u look awesome with your natural hair.
Angel GRAVES Hey Angel... I watched your big chop video and u look great after your big chop. It look really good on you. I will be 16 months post on December 24 and I am over it. I think I might big chop at the end of Dec...Bring in New Year with my natural hair.
Angel GRAVES I love it!! ❤️
Angel GRAVES Congrats for doing you! Let me say, I’m generally a very confident person but this TWA really tested me. Some of my family didn’t like it, some of my friends didn’t like it and it was hard. But I knew what I wanted to accomplish. 13 months later and having more products than the law allows, I really love it. Now that it’s longer, people say I like your hair now, but I didnt like it before. My response is always the same. “ Its a good thing that it’s on my head then, right”. People will always have a commentary, good or bad, but the key is to know who you are and be confident in your beauty.
Thanks for sharing your journey!
Honestly I LOVED that relaxed wavy look. I would love to know how you achieved that. The twa is cute too.
Yay I'm so happy for your progress girl. I'm at 6 months mark so I'm super excited man!
Angel GRAVES thank you hunnn! how exciting!!
Inlove with this hair style 😍🥰🥰🥰
The wavy hair style before transition is beautiful too.
i had the very same experience, thanks for the inspiration
Im 16 months post relaxer and our lengths are so similar it’s so exciting watching someone else who’s journey is so close to yours. Lol
twinsies!!!
Thank you for this video!! I’m big chopping in January I’m 11 months post relaxer and I’m so afraid but this video helped me so much 💙
eeeeekkk!! how exciting girl!! I remember being in this same position - nervous, scared but sooo ready! you're going to look and feel amazing lovely!!!
Gorgeous before and after. I might just do the big chop. Relating to everything your saying the two textures wearing my hair down all the time and heat on your hair daily is oh so bad. This maybe the last time for the Creamy Crack 😊
Hi I’ve been on a similar journey too and I’ll never go back to the ‘creamy crack’ 😂...I’m in love with my hair too and enjoying what she can do 😍😊
It has been a year already?!?!?!? I am super proud of you and you look amazing!!! Continue to push yourself because you are blossoming into an amazing woman. Lol 12 year old Alyssa would have never cut her hair.
Stephenie Chin lmaooo I know right?! time is FLYING 😩 love you loads ❤️
Love this video and I’ve subbed today 👍😊✅
2 months since the big chop and I don't regret it at all !
love ittt!!
If your video is 17 minutes long and you catch me watching it entirely, you best believe i loved every minute of it! Your fro is so cute, it reminds me of mine, I big chopped in March 2018 and it is growing back like CRAZY and I saw your pic on my explore page and realised that my fro looks like yours!! I just wonder how do you style it? Because sometimes I feel like my hair is great, my curls are great, the growth is great but I feel like it doesn’t look good on my head, like the overall shape of it? Idk, I might be tripping
ahhhhh thanks so much :D I'm glad you enjoyed the vid! I've got plenty of other vids showing how I style my hair on here, which you might find super useful! the cut / shape of your fro can make allll the difference! maybe try a new cut? for mine, the sides and back are tapered--I keep the hair in the front nice and long :)
Alyssa Marie Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely give it a shot 🥰
I did my hair comparison on ig as well and on my RUclips I want to be able to look back at this and be like wow
Angel GRAVES yessss I love me some pic comparisons 🙌🏾
I big chopped after transitioning for a year, protective styles were a godsend because I couldnt do it, its actually my second time trying Lol I clipped a little at a time and went natural the first time the I permed it out of annoyance, but try number 2 🙏
Aha girl I’m 3 days away from being 1 year into my transitioning and all I wear is slick back buns. I’m so tired of them but I’m scared to cut my hair. I need to be able to bun my hair which is why I’m keeping my dead ends.
My hair is at this stage right now I’m just wondering how long it took for it to start growing down after this if that makes sense 😭
Scoop on that lip color tho 😍😍😍😍
sash-shonie Morrison it’s fenty beauty - uncensored!
I’m almost 5 months post relaxer. It’s a struggle trying to keep perm rod set to last for 5 days sometimes I redo some of them. I’m loving your hair.
thank you love!
Your welcome do you think there is any other hairstyle that would for me. I’m thinking about doing 2 low bun tomorrow
Anikia Miller low buns are all I do girl and I’m almost a year into transitioning. My ends are strings but I’m holding on LOL
@@M3l155a I wouldn't be able to get my hair in a low bun. I tried sleek bun with eco styler and my hair barely would lay down.
Anikia Miller try using mod water and a lot more gel. Then use a boar brush to brush your hair down. Then use a scarf to tie your hair and sleep with it on. That should work
I said I was gone transition for a year & two months later BAM 💥 big chop Oct. 6, 2020. I’m looking kinda bald right now but I’m good, I’’m seeing some length retention 🤩
Heyyyy...first of all you have great videos and content. I will be 16 months post relaxer on Dec. 24 yayyyy for me 😂 because the struggle was real. But I am thinking bout big chopping sis and having my stylist cut it. And I can definitely relate because all I wear now is buns so I am like I should just cut it. My question is how do you refresh your curls in the morning after you slept on them. I live in cold Chicago and not trying to have to rewet my hair to have popping curls. It’s too cold for that... going outside with wet hair. If you have any suggestions I really appreciate it. I see some youtubers do that rewet their hair next day and nobody got time for that lol. I think that’s my main concern after I big chop what to do with my hair in the morning and still look cute 😊
LadyJ Kelley congrats on making it so long without a relaxer!! when my hair was shorter I had to rewet to refresh my curls... but you could rewet and then blow dry to avoid having to go out in the cold with wet hair 😘
Hey sis! I'm late to the party, but stunning as always. I'm 9 months into transitioning and thinking of big chopping in a few weeks. At your 9 month mark, would you say that was the "awkward phase"? How hard would you say styling is around that length? xx
Ariana Bignal-Ebanks hi hun! i’ve has multiple awkward stages LOL. I got a trim around the 6/7 month mark, which helped A LOT. xo
Do You have a list of products You used for length?
When was the first time you did a trim after your big chop?
December 30th would be my 1 month big chop because I big chopped November 30th and I transitioned for about a year before I big chopped
congrats girly!!
Alyssa Marie thx❤️🥰
Hi your vidios inspire me did my big chop this week and I'm already frustrated it looks so dry I'm from Trinidad and the products u mention I can't find here plss help lol
congrats on your big chop!! I have a ton of videos on here that you'll find super helpful. check my latest updated wash day routine!
Are you still using devacurl products? If so can you post a video of your wash day routine please!!!
yup I am!! I have a video up of how I do my wash day with deva curl products :)
Within the past year how many times did you trim your hair?
Manuelitaaa31 only once - around the 6/7 month mark! thinking about trimming again very soon
Do you think you'll straighten your hair to get a more accurate trim/cut?
NOPE! staying far from heat :)
Lol I couldn’t transition more than 5 months too 😂
lol GIRL the struggle was so real!!
Ps my hair type is similar o yours
Dang it's just hair y'all be doing too much!!!!
