THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! the earlier comment that said this has dhmis vibes is totally right -- all the best parts of that uncanny, upbeat off-ness that i'm always so fascinated by in media! so so well done, as always :]
Yooo this looks absolutely amazing Akidachi! Every animation I've seen from you is so smooth and wonderful to look at. The colours, although eyestrain like, are really well put together and are so amazing. Plus there seems to be real objects in the video (like the hand, heart, coffee maker(? is that what its called?) and others) coloured over to look like the animated bits and it works really well! Especially with the items underneath the shadowy figure at 0:21. Its both uncanny but fitting at the exact same time which looks amazing to me. I am so so SO curious for what this is about/made for. Well done!
Hey not really for this video, but particularly your alone at the edge of the universe video- what editing programs did you use? I’ve got an animatic stuck in my head that need some of those transition things (like Jon’s long hair animation or the eye opening animation) and also a software that can slowly rotate the background. Do you have any tips or tricks? I’d love to hear a response about or watch a video on your process! I love your work- thank you for your Tma content, I look forward to whatever you post next! ❤️
ah, i use after effects! though a lot of the movement based transitions can be done in almost any editing program (hitfilm is free and has a lot of the same base animation features) the long slow motion animation shots were interpolated with twixtor (a plugin) theres some programs out there that can do the same thing on that front though, youd just have to render it far slower than you want and then do some time remapping afterwards in your editing program (sorry, no concise way to explain this T_T) as for rotating a background, thats pretty easy to do in 1 layer, just drawing the whole background like a panorama and moving it around (if you want a 3d effect, you can split the background up into multiple layers and move them at different speeds too. though using 3d layers is a lot easier when doing that) and thank youuu!! ive been planning to make a video on MV production for a while, writing scripts is just... a weak point of mine, so its slow going atm.
Do you have a recommendation for a podcast or tv series with similar vibes to TMA? To be honest I cannot find something that could fill the space TMA left when it ended. Love your work, good luck.
oh my god I'd love to see a "behind the scenes" video on how you did this cause it's absolutely insane!!
This is so cool! The smoothness of the animation, the color pallet, everything is so cool!!

I would recommend Hello from the Hallowoods, but I've also heard I am in Eskew and Old Gods of Appalachia are good :)
First also FUCK yea
Also I’m in love with the color schemes used here
