Actually, Johnny was a neighbor of ours. He stopped by the Pit to ask us to help sell his new line of sauces, because he knew we were selling our BBQ Pit Boys brand in thousands of stores worldwide. He was interviewing us which was an honor and privilege. RIP Johnny -BBQ Pit Boys
You're right, it was unfortunate. Still, it was good to have the legend himself, Johnny Winters, on here and recorded for posterity, one last time before he passed on.
I was fortunate as a young man who fell in love with the blues to see Johnny at the house of blues in Los Angeles in 1999. I waited outside after the show with one of my favorite albums. He kindly let me on the tour bus to meet him and get my album signed. What a humble and amazing blues man. He will always live on through his music. Loved to see this interview!
Was a senior in HS in Maryland and hitchhiked with a friend to DC in 1980/81 to see him at the Ontario Theater. Don't remember much but loved his blues playing. RIP!
I watch you guys all the time but I rarely comment I truly want to thank you for posting this video of one our greatest music legends. Just imagine the greatness he saw and met over his long career. He was a legend. Thank you guys.
I’ve been a Johnny Winter’s fan since I was a teenager I’m 68 years old now and I’ve seen him at least a dozen times!! Love you Johnny your jamming with the blues gods now
The music lives on... forever. We are blessed with Johnny's music. He made a lot of people feel good and the world is a better place for that. Can you ask for anything more? Good stuff!!!
Johnny was a neighbor.. and he came to the Pit to interview us.. he was launching his own brand of BBQ sauces and wanted our help since we sell our rubs and sauces in thousands of stores worldwide... he's done 100s of interviews, he just wanted to chill and hang here..
A lot of road miles on this dude. When he got older he became a lot more soft spoken. If you watch interviews from the 70/80's you'll see how gregarious and charming he could be.
Very cool to see Johnny again. This video must have been recorded in 2014 or earlier. I was fortunate to see Johnny perform in Detroit and Toledo, Ohio.
It was.. Johnny went back on tour after stopping by.. was planning to come back for some of our fried catfish.. unfortunately, while in Europe, he met his maker.. luv ya Johnny.. RIP.. BPB4L
Yeah, I know he passed in Europe. Nice that you guys had him as your guest. Another favorite of mine was Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown and Leslie West of Mountain. I got a chance to met Kim and Leslie and signed posters for me. I also got a drum stick from Corky Laing. Leslie's drummer. Johnny and Kim were Blues Masters.
I had just seen him in town lawrence kansas. He was on stage here in town live. And then he was gone. He was wearing the same hat so he's on the same tour. That was several years ago I don't remember what year. Blind As a bat. They had to help him. Onstage had to help him with his guitar they had to help him off stag
Saw Johnny on the Serious Business, Guitar Slinger and 3rd Degree ( twice ) tours. The man played paint blistering, lightning fast blues while in his prime like no other. The last time I saw him live ,due to poor health he performed while sitting and stuck to mostly power chords and rhythm type licks. Johnny on a bad night was still better then most on their best night.......
Huge Fan !!! Appreciate ya ! Saw his brother at taste of Chicago 5th row. In the late 90s. Thanks for the remembrance!!! Keep up the rocking!!! Love ya guys !! Sell me a t-shirt !!!! 👕
He was always so skinny but last 6 months he looked like a ghost all those years of alcohol, drugs and tobacco did him bad and he was only 70 RIP to the guitar slinger 🤘
Progressive Blues Experiment is his first album and it's terrific. Not a bad place to start if you are thinking of it. ruclips.net/video/4FSKGS_L2_Y/видео.htmlsi=dKr3_iONVWqkzSL8
This is terrible, it's like an info commercial.
Barley let Johnny speak

Johnny Winter, still blasting him on my road trips, love it!

He was very humble. He was more interested in you, and who he met than talking about himself..
Was a senior in HS in Maryland and hitchhiked with a friend to DC in 1980/81 to see him at the Ontario Theater. Don't remember much but loved his blues playing. RIP!
there are a bunch of things I no longer remember when Johnny was around.. intense, to say the least..
