I bought my Squire affinity back in 2004 it's been upgraded plays and sounds great & Feels nice ( it came with a flame maple neck) and I fixed the frets right away
Re the cheapest Fender and the Classic Vibe - $400 will get you a fantastic Fender sticker for the headstock. Or, a lot of alright ones to plaster all over it, lest anyone doubt what the headstock says. This was a neat video. And I am unreasonably against Strats!
I had a shitey Squire an all - played the granny out of it. I guess I loved it - didn’t even notice that the frets were almost gone (it was at least second hand), or that those squire pickups were dreadful. I guess back then guitars were flying off shelves - they didn’t have to make _good_ cheap guitars - kids wanted them regardless. Edit: Dug my old strat out of the loft last summer and gave it away to someone sort of beginner level. Felt a bit like Andy from Toy Story handing over Buzz and Woody 😭 Genuinely felt sad! Madness
Truthfully liked the video. You know how to play guitar. But if you dont know about guitars and their parts and how they work and how to set them up. Your not a true guita player. Taught my nephew that. If you cant change your own strings or set up your own guitars, your not a true guitar player. Your a want to be that can play. Sorry truth hurts.

@@Hoop-aloop I used to be really insecure about brand names. Nowadays I get a kick out of making cheap gear sound great.

Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully, it'll make some more memories with its new owner.

It's all good man. The way I see it, if I can learn to play a guitar, then I can learn how they work. It's all part of the process.
