Thank you so much. You saved my scooter. The key was rusty, corroded, and I used WD-40 with cotton buds to clean it, but make sure you wipe it dry completely after. Also I disconnected the battery from behind the top circuit, inside the shaft, not the main one from the bottom.
You saved me a whole lot of stress! Super easy fix and I have now covered the button with clear tape - it happened when it rained and turns out the water messes with the connections, obviously (well, now it is!) Thanks - June 2021
I was about to give up on mine! I was riding in the rain and started having the same issue and your video was the 3rd different possible solution I watched and it worked. Thanks a lot!
I couldn't thank you enough times bro, I was stressing so much that I left my pro 2 that I owned for less than a week in rain and it got water damage but after this the whole thing was running completely find again, only minor issue is that the screen makes a small humming noise when on full speed but it's not that big of a deal to me, if anyone is reading this comment this video is 100% legit, just be careful when in the process👍
This is a great vid for what seems a common problem. Don't be put off if you're not technical (like me) it's pretty easy. Actually cleaning the "corrosion" didn't work for me as there wasn't any but when I took the dashboard off all the wires underneath were damp. So I just unplugged everything underneath the dash (see other vids on youtube what to disconnect) left overnight in a warm room and reassembled the following day and worked fine.
Had the same issue with m365 pro. Followed the guide, felt some moist and gently wiped the dashboard with a qtip and looked for corrosion (none found). Disconnected all the wires at the battery motherboard, wiped and reassembled. It briefly worked but then went it to same failstate. Disconnected the powerchord from the battery to the motherboard and left it for 2 days. Reassembled again and now it works fine! 👍 Thank you for the vid!
Had the same issue with a new scooter (only 2 weeks and 40km passed, no rain nor washings at all). Random turns on/off every few minutes, and the button did not work. But I found that if I move the grey cable (which goes in a pair with red brake cable outside the steering column) up and down a little - something changes with the dash LEDs (they turn off or on), so I concluded it was either bad contact where the dash cable connects to the motherboard or broken cable itself. I removed the bottom cover, removed the motherboard and carefully inspected the whole grey cable (all four wires) and the motherboard socket. With no luck. Cable and the cable socket both were OK. Then I disassembled the button as shown on the video, but there was no rust/dirt at all. Anyway, I cleaned it all with some ethanol, assembled the scooter, and it somehow worked! It's weird, because actually I did nothing. Just disassembled the scooter and assembled it back. Anyway, thank you. :)
Hi my friend, I tried many other things before with reset and power off for hours and I thought I have to reload software. All rubish.. Only your video helped 100%👍👍👍
It worked! Thank you!!! After washing my scooter I lost control of it. Made the disample and dried the button specially the plug under it. So small and hard to clean it but works. Ty!!
If this doesn't work for you: I tried this but had no corrosion. What fixed it for me was just taking the small plate out and back in then assembling it all back together. I think it might've been that I A) Flipped it around before putting it back in OR B) I added a tiny bit of pressure to the sides of it with my fingers, to add a little more bend back into it. The way the plate works, is when you press the button, you kinda bulge the small plate down onto the contact. So maybe giving it a bit more bend might do it.
Tnx ;) I have pro 2 and i just opened the front cover, removed the button and cleaned it inside (contacts behind that metal cover) and its working now :) Did not even unplug the battery :D
Thank you very much, you revived another M365pro, I checked the contacts and it seemed clean but I have it another brush, and scrape from a scalpel an now it’s working like new. I think it could be due to condensation, water build up? Luckily all the computer systems on this is not expensive, most expensive part being the battery pack!
i have a question and I don't know how to dp it but i have the same scooter and in the display screen i can't see the kilometers i do like or my speed is this okay?
Had the exact same issue. Different solution. The cable connector to the main power mother board was loose. So suggest to unplug and replug all connectors to check for tightness. Fully functional thereafter. ie. the signal 4x cable that connects the two PCB's together.
Hi should there be a light on the motherboard ? I have installed a new battery into scooter and have blinking blue light but no response or life from the scooter when pressing power button.. History of scooter not known as it was left out for scrap. Cheers
if you're taking the dash off, use a hot towel to warm it up a bit. the glue will release a lot easier then. don't use a heat gun as you'll melt the plastic
thanks it worked but now it wont switch off and also stuck in speed mode seen other videos how to reset hold power and accelerator and tried with brake without brake still wont switch off - any ideas
Hi mate . I have the exact same scooter as this but it fully charges and I have removed covers and looked at wires everything even the app says it has full charge but it JUST Won't Go any ideas ? It's in quite used condition and has been left in ahead for a year . Got it out as cleaning our shed it charges bit just won't go . Even qith full charge and display working so it can't be battery can it ? Any help appreciated 🙏
Pleace help me. My scooter only turns on when i put it upside down on the table. When i put it the right way up it only flashes on and then it turns on. What could the problem be?
This didn't work for me. I removed the tiny bit of corrosion, put the little round metal disk thing back on the button and it presses but nothing changes. When I put a bit of aluminum foil over some of the little metal parts on the board to the right of the button it starts making noises and resetting itself (doesn't actually turn on/off/give control of change in speed or thr front light) but I can't figure what the actual issue is around that connectivity and which part is reacting to the foil connection and why. Any ideas?
I’ve done this but there was no corrosion when I put back together it seemed to work for like 5 seconds then went all funny again and still no luck any ideas
Hi I have a problem with my vapaa 025 I think it's itentical to the m365 and so on. My control panel has 2 double lines going down the screen and it won't switch on to the menu. Think it happened as it went flat of charge as it was in cruise mode. Battery seems fine as it will light the lights on and off. I'm gonna try this to see if any change, can only find xiaomi control panel online I'm hoping that it's compatible. Any input would be great. Thanks
Hi, i got wet with my mi 1s, now the power buton doesn't work. I oppened it and Clean, the Baterie cable Plug out and in, still doesn't work. Should i bay a new board? Please help🙏
hey man I know your video is about 3 years old, but I was wondering if you can give me a link of your battery charger of that scooter can’t find the right charger for it man. Please help me find it ?
I clean everything but does not work...my switch button gives nothing. I can turn on off only by switching cable on mother board. Is there some other solution.?
I literally just got a scooter delivered today and I’ve charged it for about 4 and half hours the light is green on the Charging Port but the scooter will not turn on any help?
For me repairing the button in the dash didn't solve my issue. The grey wire(connected the to red wire looping outside the scooter) was pulled really tight making it strain against the motherboards connector. Pulling some more gray wire through from outside the scooter eliminated the strain on the motherboard connector solving my issue.
i have the same problem and it turned out that its a problem from the conroller board and its just a connector coming from the dashboard and my problem isnt solved yet
Thank you so much. You saved my scooter. The key was rusty, corroded, and I used WD-40 with cotton buds to clean it, but make sure you wipe it dry completely after. Also I disconnected the battery from behind the top circuit, inside the shaft, not the main one from the bottom.

Why leaving it in the rain for?!

I literally just got a scooter delivered today and I’ve charged it for about 4 and half hours the light is green on the Charging Port but the scooter will not turn on any help?
ask your local shop to change the LCD screen speedometer or you can find the part online and fix it yourself
