Danny is the most down to earth person, unlike Scott. I used to see Dan all the time at local shows in Spring Valley New York - World Stage and even the Limelight in NYC, hanging out with the crowd and fans.
Very interesting interview, some well thought out questions beyond the usual, thank you. Some insights that had never crossed my mind, like S.O.D. getting more coverage because they came from a metal background, compared to C.O.C., D.R.I. and Suicidal, who came before them, but came from a HC background. After the original SOD run in 1985 they played 1 show in 1992 at the Ritz, 1 show in 1994 at the RIP magazine awards and a couple shows in 1997. Then got back together in 1999. Their last show was Thrash of the Titans (Chuck Billy benefit) on August 11, 2001. Damn it’s been too long!!! Look at it this way….their last show was exactly 1 month before 9/11. They’re the only of my favorite bands I never got to see live
I saw S.O.D. live at least 5-6 times, Exit-13, Brutal Truth a few times, and Nuclear Assault once, opening for Testament and Savatage on Practice What You Preach tour.
I picture him yelling at a Kid, why can't you get that Garbage out of your head you'd be better off Reading a Good Book instead, why don't you think for your self!? Live in this self made Hell!
Nice to see some real people talking about stuff and don't be assholes about it - like backtracking and denouncing old songs because of their "controversial" lyrics. FFS - "Fuck The Middle East" (too many problems!) sounds as plausible today as it sounded back then (unfortunately), but it is also a fun song that people didn't actually took seriously.
I love Anthrax and SOD and Nuclear Assault. Anthrax classic line up with Frank, Scott, Spitz, Charlie and Joey is the best for me. I also love Dan Lilker, and the fact that he's a good friend to Anthrax makes me respect him so much. And I think Greg Wall is funny LMAO his comments
