Pakistan's economy had a good month by the country's standards. On Tuesday, Islamabad received a $1.1 Billion loan from the International Monetary Fund. This capped off a month that began with positive news on the inflation front. March was the third month in a row where Pakistan's inflation went down. The inflation rate was down to 20.7% in March. Pakistan has the highest inflation in South Asia, so even inflation that is above 20% is considered good. But the high prices are wreaking havoc on the lives of common Pakistani citizens. They have to pay exorbitant prices for staples, like the humble roti, which now costs 25 Pakistani rupees.
