I’ve watched many painting demonstrations on RUclips and this is possibly the best one I’ve seen. The painting is stunning and looks effortless although I know better. However I will still give it a try.
This short videos was very educational. Thank you, Robert. In addition to making the effective light in the sky, I especially liked your method of making the reflections in the water, and the purposeful dropping of water to make the beautiful blooms on the dark trees on the left. Just beautiful!
So beautiful. I have to confess it would be challenging for me to do all that you did all in one go. Hard for me as a viewer to determine how fast your paper is drying vs still damp and how that allows you to keep adding more details such as the bg, trees and reflections. Lovely end result.
All the questions I've had about watercolour...you answer as you're painting 😊. And saying the simple things that are so important that I've overlooked...thank you so much. Beautiful painting☀️full of light.
Just hit upon you and what an excellent tutorial this was. I haven’t painted for months now but you have reignited my love and passion to put paint to paper again! New subscriber and looking forward to watching back on your other work. THANK YOU!!!
It is amazing and simple to paint - so it looks at first - however you have a great talent ,knowledge of colours and what the water can create . Just watching you paint is educational and beautiful. Thank you . Now I might try to follow you paint in this video and see what comes on paper when I do it. Hope it will not be to frustrating but it is worth trying . Will have to watch this video multiple times for sure. Again thank you. 0:14
I just found your channel and I loved how effortlessly you painted that scene. I work in watercolor and that's probably my biggest struggle is not overdoing what I'm trying to make simple.
Wow you make it look so easy??? It's hard for me to see the painting finished before I paint. I think I lack the vision?? Love your painting and how you paint 🎨. Thank you 😊.
I must admit, when I saw the thumbnail, I thought the section on the left was light shining through a splashing wave. Would be a great light painting for next time. Love this though. So stunning & the most gorgeous purples & oranges! Excellent instructions too. Thank you 😊 New sub from a first time video
I’ve just started to paint This was so great to watch The way it seemed to come from nothing You make it look so easy ! But many years of expertise The finish ! the colours ! 💜🧡🤎
To paint like this and know what the water is going to create is absolutely fascinating. Thank you so much and I am so impressed with your knowledge and talent!
If I follow your brush strokes and use similar colors, mine would turn out to be a murky mess. The more I practice the more I admire watercolorists like you who can master this medium. I am so used to see everything 3D but to paint well the visual is 2D of light and shadow. Watercolor is more difficult because of the translucency and layering.
Can i ask if you have cut some of the well partitions in your Liz Deakin palette to accommodate some of your more utilised colours ( ochre, ultramarine etc)?
Yes, I found them a bit small. So for the colours I use a lot I cut out the divider. Here is a video about the palettes I use. ruclips.net/video/C38aWqlfSjI/видео.html
Great demo! 🎨
Thank you! 😊
I’ll definitely be rewatching this demo a few times. So well explained and executed. Thanks!

You definitely know what is watercolour at its best! Thank you for sharing it.

It’s very interesting to see how random it all looks when you don’t draw anything before painting. Nothing is random though.
Thanks for watching.
